I love going to this Petsmart for Treats or Grooming Products for my 4 year old Westie Schnauzer Mix. The associates are nice and are very helpful but there is one area Id recommend you stay the heck away from and its their grooming services. If you are taking your dog there to get a bath, nails trimmed, teeth cleaned, ears cleaned. Then be my guest BUT if you have a dog that looks like a Teddy Bear or is "as cute as a button" then DONT have their hair cut here. The only style they know to cut on a dog is SUPER SHORT - Also known as Chihuahua Style. I went here a year prior to a couple weeks ago and promised myself I would not come back after that experience but unfortunately my groomer was booked for the next couple of weeks so I figured. "What the hell, I will give them another shot. Maybe its just the groomer. " I took my dog in an spoke with some of the groomers and let them know how terrible my previous experience was like and how I was upset with how short his hair was the last time. I even showed them pictures to how he looked when I left and compared it to how he looked at my private groomer. The groomer assure me that she could make him look exactly the same and I would leave a happy customer. When I returned to pick him up I peeked around the corner to look at him through the window and I was immediately unsatisfied. There was no change he was absolutely the way he was before and his hair was WAYYYYYYYYY too short for his or my liking. I was also told that they found a flee on him, only ONE flee and they applied a topical flee medicine to his back for FREE like they were doing me a favor or an act of kindness. First of all, In all my time of having my dog, he has NEVER had flees. And Secondly, this sounds more like an excuse as to why my dog hair was so short so I couldnt yell or be angry about his hair cut. Even if he did have a flee there is NO reason for his hair to be this short. Now this is Colorado in October is getting chilly outside can you see a westie mix shivering like a Chihuahua. If google allowed me to post photos or videos I would do so in a heart beat. With that being said, next time I will wait 3 weeks for my groomer to be available instead of taking him here. I hope this makes you think twice before you get your dogs hair cut here. All that can be said now is LESSON EARNED...We will NOT be coming back here for grooming.

Let me preface by saying Ive never written a review of any store, restaurant, or media experience. However, after living through the nightmare that is this petsmart I feel compelled to speak up. My wife and I have moved from Colorado Springs, to Omaha, to Boulder, and now reside in Westminster. Weve used petsmart and Banfield at each of our prior residences and have been extremely satisfied. However, weve found the staff at the Petsmart in Westminster Town Center to be judgmental, rude, uncompromising, and basically just an assortment of the worst attitudes imaginable. Today I came home to my wife in tears for the second time in the past two weeks because of her treatment at Petsmart. She was very excited at the prospect of cat adoption and found what she considered to be the perfect kitty. Instead of a helpful and enthusiastic employee she was insulted and demeaned because she asked what the policy was on declawing cats. We would have happily taken a cat with claws, but as soon as my wife said she preferred a declawed cat, the employee angrily told her that she was not an adoption candidate. She was condescending and accused our current cats of being at a disadvantage in life without their claws. My wife was very hurt by this as she loves both our cats and does everything in her power to give them full and wonderful lives. Obviously, this was too much for the pets mart employee to stomach and she felt compelled to lecture my wife and bring her to tears as declawing cats disagree with her personal beliefs. She repeatedly told my wife she would not approve an adoption while my wife tried to explain that we would be happy to have a cat with claws and that she was only asking about their policy. My wife truly felt a connection with the cat and said she felt she loved him instantly, but the employee made it clear that she did not consider my wife to be a suitable pet owner. We spend hundreds of dollars a month on our pets health at Banfield and Petsmart and shouldnt have been treated with such disdain when all we wanted was to give a cat a "loving forever home" on any terms they specified.

Very disappointed with petsmart in Westminster, Colorado Store number 1458!!! I was planning to put my two little girls into daycare today but was informed that the two dogs were going to be separated. I have a 9 month old Aussie mix and a 16 week old baby pit. When calling and making an reservation for the girls too play the guy took all my information when I heard some lady in the background telling him that pitbulls are nasty dogs! Excuse me!! Who the hell are you to judge my baby. I asked the guy who was that lady judging my dog when she doesnt know a single thing about her. I asked him why cant my baby girl play with the other dogs in daycare and not be placed in a caged area alone. He stated to me because pitbulls tend to play ruff. I stated thats not true all puppies at 14 weeks more or less would play ruff. Then I said are you telling me that Im going to pay you $22.00 per dog just for my baby to sit in a cage for over 6 hours and get a few moments of play time alone and potty breaks when she can stay home with me and have a whole house of freedom to play and unlimited attention from me! I dont think so. So my Aussie would be mingling making new friends but my baby pitbull is an outcast. This i say PETSMART need to be a shamed of yourself for Profiling, Judging, and basically be a Very Racist company towards pitbulls. Not every pitbull is a killing machine as you narrow minded pitbull haters think or what you see on Tv! I would asked all my pitbull lovers to support my anger towards this. Lets see if someone from petsmart will reach out too me to explain this situation and handled the issues.

I found this PetSmart to be clean, with friendly staff, and all the things ready to spoil a pup or a kitten. I am a weekly shopper there, and I am sold. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and always treat Chell (my 7month foxhound) really well. I adopted my dog through the centre run by the Boulder Valley Humane League, and found the experience to be pleasant. It was immediate service, and I played with all of the dogs on site. When I made my decision to bring my foxhound home, it was about 2 hours of paper work, and then we were on our way! We also experienced the PetHotel, which is a bit expensive, but was fantastic for her! After the three days of daycare and hotel stay, she came home even knowing a few new tricks! I was pleased with her treatment and stay at the hotel. I would recommend this store, though Ive never had her groomed here, nor have we visited the Banfield clinic. Other than that, Ive been more than pleased with the store. Pros: Clean, friendly staff Cons: A little expensive
