My husband was in the market for an SUV to replace my 10-year-old Yukon. He called McConnell Automotive and Brian Gardner was extremely helpful and gave him a rundown of inventory, mentioning a specific Acadia that he believed fit the description of what I would like. That afternoon, we went to “look” at what Brian had mentioned. When we arrived, he had a new Acadia pulled to the front, keys in it, ready for a test drive. I was shocked when I saw the vehicle, because it was EXACTLY what I wanted to replace my Yukon, color, options, and all. We test drove it, and both Brian and another gentleman, Glen “Gump” McCown directed us out of the pouring rain where Glen went over all the options with me. Brian worked out a great deal with my husband, and I happily drove my new SUV home that night! The next day when I returned with our insurance information, Glen greeted me with the same friendly professional attitude and put me in a similar vehicle to drive for a few hours, while they “detailed” mine. That evening, Brian and Glen were waiting with my shiny, clean, ready to roll Acadia. Brian had everything for the final signing, and Glen went over each option in detail, specifically the hands free voice command center and its many controls. We left McConnell feeling very satisfied, knowledgeable, and extremely impressed with the incredible service we received throughout the process. If you are shopping for a vehicle, DO NOT hesitate to call McConnell Automotive and let Brian and Glen help you find one. You wont be sorry!

After spending thousands of dollars in a month on my Yukon Hybrid at other dealers and thinking it would ready for a road trip, my car broke down in Mobile. We had it towed to McConnell and they were the most helpful team of people we have seen in the car business. I talked to the service team and even the technician several times a day. They told me it was an electrical problem and they could clear the errors but that wouldnt mean it was actually fixed (which is what the other dealers did and i ended up stranded.) I value this integrity where they could have sold me anything and i probably would have broken down in another hundred miles. The technician was even talking with GM corporate to try to figure out what was wrong with my car. It wasnt going to be an easy fix so they offered to take it to auction for me or trade it in. When we towed it in we were helped by Peggy in cars sales and test drove a few cars in case this happened. She was extremely helpful answering our questions and working throughout the week to get a good value for our trade in of a car that had problems. Eventually it just didnt work out since we were now a thousand miles away and i feel bad because of how helpful they were. If i was in Alabama there is no doubt i would go to McConnell to buy a car or have my car serviced.

During my first visit to the dealership, I was introduced to our salesman Mr. James Brown. I was originally interested in looking at used Yukon XL, but quickly realized I wasnt interested in that particular vehicle mostly due to color combination. James and I exchanged information and I asked him to show me some of the new Yukon XLs. I mentioned in passing that my wife would love this particular unit. We didnt really talk much about it at that time. I text him off and on for a week before calling him and telling him we were headed that way to talk serious. When we arrived he had the exact vehicle I mentioned my wife would want pulled up to the front door of the dealership and the keys ready for a test drive. He was never pushy, but remembered what we talked about and which one we were most interested in. The buying process was very laid back and not rushed. The sales manager Mr. Brian Gardner worked with us and Mr. James Brown to ensure we were happy with the vehicle and knew about all the features. It was a very enjoyable purchase experience and I would recommend McConnell Automotive and Mr. James Brown to anyone in the market for a new GMC vehicle. This was the second vehicle I had purchased at McConnell, the first being purchased in 2005. Sincerely, J. Phillips

The staff is mostly all very courteous and helpful. However, if you choose to bring your vehicle to them to correct 3 safety recalls and run a diagnostic test to determine the cause of an engine problem and choose not to let them fix it because the quote was much higher than anywhere else, be prepared to be treated like garbage from there forward. Mind you, I paid $110 for their time and diagnostic test only to be told when I went to pick my vehicle up that unfortunately it is out of gas and wont start. But here are your keys and have a nice day... Um, I didnt push my car in here to be serviced. And it would have had to start had I chosen to let them do the work they quoted me so they certainly would have put at least a gallon of gas in it then. My car should have been returned to me in at least drive able condition. Is this the customer service goal for this establishment?

I was researching a used truck that had orinially been sold by McConnell Buick GMC, they had also serviced it and completed body work for the original owner. The dealership that I was purchasing the truck from was in Birmingham, AL and had no connection to McConnell Automotive. McConnell did not make a penny off of the sale but James Dykes supplied me with the service records, all 40 pages. When I had some questions about the body work that they had done on the truck he put me in touch with GaryTurner. Gary spent 30 minutes on the phone telling me about the trucks history and the work that they had done on it. The customer service that these two gentlemen provided me went far beyond anything I expected. If I did not live in Jacksonville, FL, McConnell would be my dealership of choice, these guys are amazing. Thanks James and Gary!

Made an appointment for a safety recall....off work and arrived at scheduled time----told me it would be 4-5 hours. Didnt want to wait, so I rescheduled for the original recall, plus a 2nd recall, plus an oil change. Made apt on GMC smartphone app---got confirmation email stating what was to be done. Off work and arrived there with a friend to pick me up and leave vehicle. Customer service stated they only had me down for oil change and not 2 recalls. Meanwhile, I had told my ride to leave without me. It was 10 am.....told me that perhaps they could get to me by 5pm...but no guarantees. Now....will take back for a 3rd and final time. Once repairs are made----Chris Myers....here I come.

Typically I dread walking onto a dealership lot. This was not my experience at McConnell Automotive at all thanks to Chris Hamberg. After spending all day looking at the vehicle of my choice and walking away because of their unwillingness to work with me, I came to McConnell very frustrated. Chris was very pleasant from the beginning. No pressure. No games. He knew what I wanted and made it happen. Very straightforward and honest. After a test drive we struck a deal that I was very happy with. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. THIS is how you get repeat customers; other salesman should take note.
