Professional, knowledgeable, courteous, attentive to EVERYTHING around them and their range, and safety oriented. Its not fair to compare any ma and pa stores against this place, none would come within 99yds on football field. They dont lock you in like the little places do, the employees appeared to have to follow a dress code, and they all were more than ready to help with anything and were not preoccupied with their smartphones. Id recommend this place to anyone. Its about the size of almost 2 Bass Pro Shops; but everything is firearms, firearms accessory related accessories, and their range is immaculate. The employees may or may not have military/LE training, but they dont limp around with a gun 1/3 the size of themselves attached to their hip, or walk gunned hip first towards you. No buzzing in and out, you are not criminally confined. Every section is neatly organized and a different style/type of firearm or accessory. OMG, their optics selection is as large as most stores total inventory. They have UTG, EOTech, and Tijicon ACOGs. On the ACOG note, they have pretty much all of the ones in stock that youll see on Trijis webpage. Their range is ultra nice. You must read a set of rules with between 9-15 rules on it, sign, and then youre issued a patron card free. Im guessing this will save time on return visits. The temp. on the range was probably upper 60s low 70s. The target holder is fully adjustable, and since its on a track in the ceiling it doesnt sway at ANY distance. I didnt see any employees open carrying, which legally they could. They were not militant, intimidating, and didnt treat customers like burdens, I was referred there by Fireman David, thanks! I didnt know until I got there that they offer CHEAP MONTHLY MEMBERSHIPS. 40$ gets you unlimited access to the range for handgun, shotgun, and high powered rifle per month. This price gets discounted if you pay for more than 1 mo upfront. I wasnt aware of this before I arrived, or else Id have planned on signing up. I am signing up next time, it pays for itself if you shoot more than once a month. AMMO IN STOCK AT LOWEST PRICES IN FL citing 9/29/13 visit prices. If you shoot more than twice a month the membership saves you up to 450 a month if you were to shoot every day. Give this place a try on your next shooting/gun shopping day. The guns I looked at were 50-125$ below their MSRPs.

Modern and very well maintained indoor shooting range and sales floor. Friendly and helpful staff but some seem to only have basic knowledge in the use of firearms. I asked some questions in regards to home defense and the use of subsonic ammunition in suppressed rifles. One question I asked was "Do longer barrels increase the velocity of a subsonic round and in turn, no longer make the rounds subsonic?". He didnt have an answer for me, nor did he direct me to someone who would know. I understand that it is an uncommon question, but I was at the very least hoping he would be able to direct me to a resource or someone who would know. Not a big deal, but hints at how important it is to research before making a purchase at the gun store. They might not have all the answers you are looking for. Their prices are a bit higher than the average youll find in most gun shops. So youll have to negotiate, if you want to get a fair price. Be sure you know all there is to know about the gun you intend to buy and pay attention to detail, when inspecting it. I overlooked the slightly bent rear sight and did not notice the damage, until I got home. Since all sales are final at Shoot Straight, there was nothing I could do about it. The buying process was quick and easy tho.

Not gonna lie, for the price I expected more. Also, some unsafe practices going on here. The sign on the door indicates that you must have your firearm cased OR concealed (if you have your concealed handgun permit). When I went in the man at the desk asked if I needed to rent a gun. I said no, I have mine holstered, I just needed a few targets and a box of ammo. (I was on vacation and taking my younger sister for her first time shooting) The guy then asked me to unholster my firearm so he could inspect it... Now, I dont know how Florida works, but every other place where you are able to carry a concealed handgun, you carry it loaded. When he asked to see my firearm I hesitated, other ranges Ive been to will kick you out for unholstering your loaded weapon outside of the range. I felt uncomfortable unholstering outside of the range, however, I did it in a safe manner, removed the magazine, took the round out of the chamber, and handed him my firearm. He looked at me like I was crazy for carrying with a round in the chamber, which tells me he knows nothing about carrying a handgun. People shouldnt be asked to unholster a loaded firearm outside of your range. Period. Will not return.

I purchased a rifleat the gun show from Shoot Straight and paid a $10 transfer fee so that I could pick up the riflein Miami where I live. I picked up the rifle from Charlies Armory where the staff was great. Unfortunately it was not the riflei purchased at the show. We called the Gun Show Manager (Apopka location) who was nice and helpful and he sent us to the Ft. Lauderdale location to switch out the rifle. When we got to the Ft. Lauderdale location they had the rifle but it was missing the sights. The managers were not helpful and were extremely rude. So I have now wasted my time and $10 for the transfer fee to the Miami location which was convenient and still had to go to Ft. Lauderdale deal with rude managers who have no customer service and I have to go back up there in a week to pick up the rifle with missing sights. I have placed another call the the Gun Show Manager in hopes that he will get the issue resolved before I go back up there and will have the sights installed. The experience has been horrible dealing with Ft. Lauderdale and I will not be purchasing anything from that store and I dont recommend anyone purchasing from them.

well as of april 4 2014 shoot straight has changed drastically. me and my friends have gone to shoot straight prior to this date and we were treated fairly and everybody was cool. well whatever happen between the 7 days we visited and april 4th had concluded my visits to shoot straight. im a former marine and i know how to handle a weapon, not my first rodeo. these guys were breathing down our necks every 2 minutes. constantly looking over our shoulders as if we were toddlers learning how to take a leak. as i stated the previous week we had no problems at all but all of a sudden things changed full 360. not cool. a few guys also seemed kind of racist as well but maybe thats just how we felt after not enjoying our time there. i agree with range safety and protocol but when the same 4 guys come in with prior experience and knowledge and accompanied by a trained former us marine i would expect not being treated as customers that never held a gun before in there life. overall shoot straight was rated 10 of 10 for ME now a 1 and thats only because there a local gun store..
