We had been looking for a mini van for quite sometime. After finding their information from USAA’s car buying site, we were under the assumption that their company is honest and certainly supports military families. We talked with Nelson the morning of 26 June. After stating that I was interested in the vehicle and that he could give me what I asked for in regards to my trade-in, have all the documentation ready (I even filled out some paperwork ahead of time over email), be out within an hour and a half, we decided to take the hour long drive to test drive it and pick it up. My wife liked the vehicle and we needed it before the high possibility that I deploy in October. When we arrived, the gentlemen were just playing cards in the back, they did not have the documentation ready, and it took 5 hours total to get everything completed. My daughter is special needs and we needed to get out of there but your employees just took their sweet time like they knew if they waited long enough they could sucker me out of the additional warranties that I said up front that I did not want. I needed to get my daughter out of there. So we left. They did not even give me the plate from our old vehicle. The interior was still filthy. We had to come back the following week for the dents and scratches to be repaired in which that was a debacle. It was so unorganized and my wife waited for hours before they said, “the vehicle will take a few days and we will give you your old vehicle back until it is ready. However, we do not know where that vehicle is.” That was subpar. Not only are the dents still noticeable, they missed some scratches. That same week your office sent the information to the wrong DMV so I had to drive 40 minutes to get that information. The vehicle had been making some interesting popping noises and shaking when accelerating and braking. Auto Nation’s staff said Toyota will handle it even though I have the warranty from Auto Nation. My family does not feel safe in the vehicle. I feel ripped off. I question the integrity and ethical decisions of their organization. And to make matters worse, every time I see this vehicle and drive it I remember all of the negative experiences that have happened with this purchase. We have purchased quite a few vehicles and this was by far the worst experience. Do not use them at all. They are not in business to help out their fellow man but to take advantage of people. If looking for a used car, always go with CarMax.

For it being a car buying experience, which is overall not a pleasant thing, it was the best it could have been. I am a first time car dealership buyer; my very first car turned out to be a lemon, not from a certified dealer ( I learned my lesson). This time around, three years later, I did extensive research on the type and quality of car I was going to purchase. I ended up going with the hatchback style. Size-wise its a perfect fit for me, there is plenty of trunk space, its fuel efficient and pretty affordable. The first local make-specific dealership (not this one) I went to was persistent, but not in a good way. I felt pressured to begin the credit checking process with them, though I didnt find a car I was sure about. I would receive constant calls from one of the dealers asking if or when I would be coming back. Yet when I was at the dealership, I felt like I wasnt a priority; they would keep us waiting forever as if they were unprepared for my arrival, or just didnt care until I returned and proved to be worth their time. During this time I finally declined the help of that dealer and decided on the exact car I wanted, which happened to be a Honda Fit. I researched online looking for dealerships that had this uses car, and this Auto Nation in Alabama, three hours away from where I was in Jackson, MS had the exact one I wanted, down to the model, color, features and style. I contacted then via email and literally about two minutes later I received a follow up call. From the start they were efficient, yet not pushy or too persistent. They helped me throughout the whole process even three hours away, through friendly email and phone communication. When my bank was not dependable they were able to get a loan for me on the spot with not a horrible interest rate once I arrived to the dealership. They were attentive and I felt my needs were being taken into consideration. I didnt have an extensive wait, or any wait at all. I had their attention the whole time, and yet there was still no pressure to buy once I came to see the car. The whole process took about three hours understandably and I drove off the lot with the car. Ive had it for only a week but so far I am completely satisfied. The day after I got it I had a question about the car and the dealership provided an adequate response. I have peace of mind knowing that they will be there and willing to help me out, even after they made the sale which is what makes a great dealership.

My experience purchasing from Automation Honda in Mobile, Alabama was truly a pleasure. I am not new to buying cars or trucks and I typically keep that under my hat until necessary, but I can honestly say that I called ahead to check a stock number of an advertised vehicle and verify it was still on hand. The team at Automation was very polite and assured me that it was on hand. I set an appointment with Chris and arrived on time for our appt. It was nice to see that when I arrived the vehicle I was considering was pulled up to the front and ready for a test drive. I was greeted at the door ran a pretty good, test drive and liked the vehicle but preferred it in another color. I picked the color, verified it could be purchased at same price as the other. They cordially agreed. We discussed add ons and my trade. I was really surprised that first offer on my trade was higher than I expected it would be as I figured it would be a hard fight to get a decent number out of them. That wasnt the case at all. We really were in real numbers only 100p apart, we agreed to do the dance and split the difference and now my wife is driving a new Honda. Very impressed with the directness and professionalism that Chris and the team exuded throughout the whole process. Really was a delight doing business with them and this team in my opinion sets the standard for the industry. In the end I rate it a full 5 star experience. Polite, educated, professional, reserved NOT pushy at all. Absolutely great experience. Thank you to all at Autonation Honda for making my buying experience a pleasurable one. One could only hope that one day your professionalism and honesty would spread through the entire car sales industry like a bushfire so that everyone gets a fair and honest deal everytime!

Pros: You can get a Honda here. Ive kind of been a Honda fanboy since my father came home with a shiny new 87 Integra. I like being able to get a Honda. Also, they will buy out your lease if you are over mileage; it probably helps that they get a discount on the buyout, but its still a convenience/perk that we appreciated. Our sales associate, Mark, tried hard (in a good way) and was pleasant to work with. Cons: During the entire sales experience, I felt rushed and pressured. It probably didnt help that our sales associate was being trained by someone else at the same time, which lended some extra chaos to the process. The guy training the new associate (Mark) that we were working with was an overbearing caricature of everything you picture about car salesmen. Endless prattling about every feature on the vehicle, such that it was hard to pay attention on the test drive. Looks of irritation when I asked a question that he didnt seem to like. (And seriously, guy, if youre going to go on about 4-wheel disc brakes as if its an amazing feature, perhaps you need to go back to 1995). Every time I asked a question about the cars we were looking at, I got an answer immediately. Every time I asked a question about payments, fees, payment breakdown, or anything to do with money, I got a dance around the question immediately. I asked for a printed payment breakdown, and the first thing I got was some vague numbers on a sticky note. We eventually got a payment that was adequate for us (hence three stars), but I never did get a straight answer to that question. We did leave with a car that we liked. So theres that.
