From the store manager to the associates to the techs- incompetent. My wife and I are not tech savvy, in the slightest. When we were searching for a new computer we went to both the Apple store and the Microsoft store, the Apple store, while more expensive was very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. My wife had to seek someone out, who happened to be the store manager (we were unaware until leaving who he was). He was quite knowledgeable about the product and showed us a computer we really loved. He also told us that we could bring our Apple computer in and have all files transferred free of charge, in less than 24 hours. Great! We always sleep on larger purchases as to keep from being impulsive. When I returned to purchase the computer, as we had said we would the associate informed us that they were completely sold out, had been for almost a week as they were discontinuing the model. Fabulous. I went and purchased the computer from Pentagon City, who also informed me of 10% off discount we would receive from being students a detail the SM had neglected to tell us. When we took the computers to have files transferred we were told they would be in touch. Three days later, no call, email or update. My wife called, only to be told it still wasnt completed and they didnt know when it would be, less than five minutes later they called back to say it had been finished, they forgot to call. When I went to do assignments after getting home, I realized nobody bothered to transfer anything. No pictures, documents or music. NOTHING! I dont know why they think they can have horrendous customer service, especially at Tysons, but save yourself the trouble. Spend the extra couple hundred and buy APPLE! They have a passionate, knowledgeable team.

I dont get the workers in this place. I came for the challenge twice and the person who comes to challenge me is the biggest scumbag. He has no knowledge about other platforms other than Windows. I get it its the Windows store and you are trying to sell your products, but there is no need to be an ignorant human being to sell one. Both challenges I took, they gave me the french menu. Thats the only thing they have. My buddies have taken the challenge and they only got the french menu. Sorry, but why would one buy a phone because it can translate a menu to English? No thanks. Only one of them friend managed to get different challenges, and he won three times. Yeah. So what happened: I am at challenge, the employee asks me if all my apps are turned off. I said yes. I didnt have any apps opened. Then he is like let me check. He takes my phone and looks at running apps and sees Facebook opened. He doesnt get that Android keeps apps in the background. Especially Facebook, because it has push notifications. So he asks me to kill it. I tell him that if I kill it, it will come back up. Then he started raising his voice at me. Eventually I lost to their awesome menu challenge. I told him that he should get some more knowledge about Android. He told me to shut the hell up. Thanks Microsoft Store. I will recycle your $25 gift card.

I went out of my way to visit the new Microsoft store with the intent of buying a Surface Tablet. I had high hopes and expectations, but I came away extremely disappointed. I hovered around the Surface demo units for about 10 minutes, figuring out what I could on my own with several questions coming to mind. There must have been about 15 employees standing around, most of them just chatting among themselves. Not once did any one of them make eye contact with me or make any effort or show interest in assisting me. (No, I did not go to them for help but it shouldnt work that way). Why open this great store then staff it with a bunch of kids who clearly have not been trained in customer service? I have always been a big Microsoft/anti-Apple person, but I think Ill just stick with my beautiful Samsung/Android tablet for now. And my wife was looking forward to a Surface tablet for her birthday. What a shame.

perfect location; great staff; lots of stuff to look at, and a chance to try out their VR system (awesome..). but i was there for service on my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 this time. and it was GREAT service. my machine wasnt able to update windows, and the staff did a clean install (one of my apps was preventing updates) and made sure my data remained on the machine. they called me a few times to let me know the status of the repair and when i could pick it up. it was on a weekend day, when the staff had a store full of customers to help, however when i dropped in to pick up the machine, one of the staffers spent some time with me to make sure the machine worked and that i was able to reset my password and log on. SUPER experience all the way around! when it is time to replace the Surface, Im sure I will stay with the brand and get the latest version available.

I stopped by the store to get a quote on a non-profit equipment order. A junior rep gave me the card for the business administrator who could help me work out the specifics of a larger buy. The administrator was totally unresponsive to e-mails. After a week I reached out to the store via phone (a surprisingly difficult phone call to make with Microsofts confusing robot telephone system) a coworker told me the administrator was getting lunch and would call me back on my personal line in 20 minutes. I still have yet to receive a call. While Microsoft may have made important strides in hardware and perception, their customer service experience is still stuck in the 90s.

I have just wasted 2 hours of my workday after purchasing the Assure Software Support Plan from the store number. And then I have not been able to reach a human to schedule support since. Now Im on the phone with the dispute charge line at my credit card - unreal. I had a colleague who spoke highly of the Tysons store and I wanted to get my computer serviced for malware and make some other technical changes. The lady on the phone said the best way to do this is purchase this plan - what a hoax. The response I got from the Answer Desk and Tech support line at MS was "we cant see your purchase, we cant help, this is the wrong line . . . " Arggghhh.

They have good employees and most of them are very friendly and helpful. The selection of products is nice, but they dont have too much PC gaming gear. They have some mice and keyboards in the back, but not a wide variety. I was hoping to get a Logitech mouse, but I only found Razer. There are a lot of laptop and desktop computers on display with Beats and Soul headphones to try on. The Windows Phone Challenge is fun. Its hard to beat, but if you have the right apps or you get lucky and the Microsoft store employee messes up, you could actually win. The $25 gift card you get for loosing is nice.

Terrible, just terrible. I attempted to contact the store for availability of product. Call was answered immediately, I provided details of the products I was interested purchasing. Waited ten minutes and was told they were still looking. Waited an additional 20 mins only to be told their systems was offline and they could not reach the store to ask for product availability(? ). Basically I was talking to a call center; not the actual store, and their system was not available for product availability. Bad sign of product support in the future. I will look elsewhere.
