I would give zero stars if I could. I had an extremely racist experience at the location in Germantown, MD, with Erick and Khang in the electronics section. My friend & I walked into the section & asked to be directed to the cordless phones. Another friend of ours was in line to return something in customer service, so we were waiting by the phones, for her to verify which model we needed to grab. As we are standing there, I notice, not one, but TWO associates (Erick & Khang) were standing at either end of the aisle, trying to see if we were stealing. Not to mention, there is a camera in the aisle, so we were already being monitored. This assumption regarding us stealing was solely based on race, as my friend is African American, and I am mixed, but a minority as well. Nothing else about us would have given the impression that there was going to be a loss prevention issue. We had no bags, whatsoever, nor did we even have pockets large enough to store a box containing a cordless phone. I was wearing leggings, which had no pockets at all. I am extremely disheartened, disrespected, and perplexed by this incident as a whole. When I tried to address Erick about this illogical behavior (why would we steal an item we asked you to direct us to?), not only did his not have an answer (all he kept saying was that it wasnt against the law to stand there), he never even tried to deny that we were being hounded around the suspicion of stealing. Not once did he deny that, this is what was occurring. I did not address Khang, because when I initially noticed that we were being watched, he walked off, because he realized that I could see what was going on. During my 27 years of life, I have never, ever experienced this & Im saddened to say that this Walmart was the setting for this. This is something I will never forget. Ive shopped in this Walmart multiple times before, and have never had this experience with any other employees. Im not sure if this is reflection of a lack of training regarding tact when it comes to loss prevention, or if this is solely a reflection of two biased, racist employees, but either way, I am extremely put off by this situation, and will not be returning to this location ever again, nor will I recommend anyone to come to this location. It is my hope that Walmart takes this seriously, and does something to really rectify this issue, because Walmart has a diverse clientele and no one deserves to feel how disrespected and hurt my friend and I felt last night.

Had a very bad experience store pick up in this store. First, I clicked the screen for associate, it took "long" time (longer than what I expected, as I am the only customer there, but still need to wait for about 10 min for an associate to show up). Second, when I showed the printout of the pick up information, my name was not showed up as a pick up person. It is kind of our fault, we dont online shop Walmart quite often, but if shop, I am usually the one in my family pick up from Walmart, so I dont really know why I am not on the list (The pickup information seems not saved in our online account, and we have to set it for each order?). Anyway, I traveled all the way from Rockville to Germantown and planed the time for this pick up, I hope the issue can be resolved during my visit. As the associate said phone call verification by my husband wont work, I started to call my husband to add me to the pick up person list. The associate is so impolite, she pointed me to the very corner of the wall when I called my husband, while there was no other customer and I was the only one at the pick up desk. After my husband added me, I got an email said item ready for pickup and in the email it shows me as an alternate pickup person. I showed the associate our account on my cell phone. But she said in her system I was not added, her system needs 24 hour to change. Well, it is not my fault that your store electronic system runs slower than your online system. I was so concerned about the time and traveling, I asked to talk to a manager. When the manager came, she told me" now your know you need to wait for the system too", and shut the conversation and left rapidly, very rude. During the long 40 min store pick up, I had tried my best to solve the issue, but I am not getting any help. I cancel the order and decide not to stop this Walmart.

The worst Wal Mart Ive been to in the U.S. Im a consultant and travel constantly for work and stop by aton of Wal Marts around the country to grab fruit or other items, and none have been this bad of a experience. All staff including managers are very lazy and unorganized. Purchased coffee bags and they were somewhat crumbled up, nothing too big since they were all like that. Came back to use it and the coffee was very stale. Drove to wal mart that same day to customer service, and the two women who were at the front counter were helping one customer for 35 minutes (not exaggerating). Asked one of the representatives is there anyone else here to help them since there were two others behind me as well. She stated, "well be with you in a moment sir". From hearing the customer conversation, he was just returning a empty plastic box with his receipt and they were giving him a hard time. After 35 minutes I came to the front with my coffee bag, and receipt stating the time/day I purchased it and the women automatically stated we can not return that since it is already opened. Spoke to one of the co-managers, Sara who reports below the store manager since he was not there that day, and she had a thick accent. Told me right off the bat I could not return my item without even hearing what I had to say. She also stated all items in her wal mart are not damaged. Asked her Ill show her the other coffee bags, and she refused to do so with me, stating again she could not help me. Im never shopping at Wal Mart after this experience. Ill shop at Target or another supermarket, since I wont get damaged goods, and if I ever do their customer service will help make it or solve it right. Not to mention I wouldnt want to waste 55 minutes of my time going back and forth, and pay a extra $0.20 cents at target.

The last time I was at this Wal-Mart was when I was at Montgomery College in Germantown. I used to walk to it to kill the hour I had before one of my other classes started. This was back in Fall 2013 when the renovations were beginning for the Super Center. I have to say that the reason this Walmart is probably the worst is due tot he fact that not a lot of the employees speak English real well. How did they get hired for the job if they cant speak English well? Montgomery County has a lot of different ethnic backgrounds and the reason this area has so many people in it is due to the amount of jobs in this area. I dont think it is fair of me to say this, but it is true. If you are going to be dealing with a large amount of people who speak English and the dominant language in America is English, why not learn the Language? It is not that difficult, take a few courses, heck ask one of your friends who speaks the language fluently. But come on, not learning the language is just unacceptable. I have not had any particularly bad instances at this Walmart. Before I buy anything, I always ask myself if I am going to return it. I typically buy stuff and plan on not returning it so that isnt an issue for me. Three stars for that.
