These comments are untrue. Just by virtue of their being in the same place for more than 10 years, and that they have always provided some trade in for anything I walked out with, answers the question. The warranty is known to you when you buy and walk out. So do not cry when you find something wrong with the item. They are not IBM, they do not manufacture or test to specs, anything there. Its a spare parts depot and working machines (used) source, some software and a lot of knowledge. Anyone trying to make them into something more, is doing it in their own head. I have had nothing but success there, and I use EBAY for some things, L & Y for others. Its a resource. Without them, everyone would pay MORE not less and would wait LONGER to get parts. Be honest with your review. It is a caveot emptor seller. But the risk can be mitigated. They will generally test out anything in the store before you buy, just ask.

I used L&Y for years, before it turned into Slimy Susies used computer lot, full of junk computers and old software. It might be good to find an old "junkyard" type computer part. I observed her buy many parts cheap and she never asks if it is hot. It was Cash and dont tell me where you got it from. Is her stuff legitimate? Its hard to tell with no questions asked. One day she showed me good memory and I bought it after it was tested there in her shop. "Ess guud Samsung memory." she pleasantly chirped and gave her daughter a small sign, who then switched out good memory and switched in dead Hyundai memory. However, I had written down the serial numbers on the receipt and embarrassed her into admitting it and returning my money. She tried a similar switch with a friend of mine. My advice: Dont deal with her until you first get witnesses and serial numbers down in writing!

I originally walked in and I was completely overwhelmed by all that I saw(Im an old pc hardware collector as well as software) the reason for my visit was that I was building a PC using primarily older computer parts and the amount of software and hardware there was insane, too bad Im now under the impression that most of it doesnt work I was sold a power supply and a computer case which were both pretty much DOA the power supply did not work at all and the computer cases front panel connections were not working at all so all in all i ended up wasting about $80 on components that dont even work.

This place is a computer junkies paradise. Items that you thought died long ago are resurrected: typewriters, word processors, atari, windows xp computers, they are all here; moreover, you will find newer items such as: Windows 7 computers and LCD monitors at reasonalble prices. Most of all, you can barter/trade items or recieve store credit. So whether you are in the market for a late model computer or just missing a cable. L&Y will have what you need ! ---- I would have given it 5 stars, except the store needs to be expanded and/or organized better.

I have been dealing with Susie & John for 25+ years.... Way back in the "Atari" days. LoL Both of them are extremely nice and knowledgeable. I have probably spent more time wasting their time than $ spent. It doesnt matter, they still treat me like a friend. Their prices are good and their service (if you need it like I do) is second to none. HR Walker

Its okay but some stuff is way overpriced for used, beat up, untested equipment. They have tons of used computer parts and equipment, but I compared and found the stuff I was looking for cheaper at another brick and mortar. I mean a huge difference. One item was $135 there and then $45 at another brick and mortar store.

Tried to sell me a Hard drive that had "DEAD" written on it in sharpie marker. Would not test the drive for me. I did not buy. Why would anyone try to sell something that has dead written on it? what a rip off that place is. Their prices are WAYY high, and Their quality is CRAP. stay away from them...

Has basically any obscure thing you may need, not the cheapest but can haggle. Would not sell here, she doesnt really know the value of most things, shell give it a once over without knowing any specifics and try to lowball the hell out of you.

I want to warn you. Do not purchase anything from L^Y Unless you want to return it and be charged 25 dollars. They will tell you the product works when it doesnt. and charge you for return of defective items

If youre looking for a hard to find part, odds are they have it at L&Y Electronics. Prices are fair. Service is good! Be prepared to stay awhile and look around for what you want - it will be worth it.

It has a wide range of goods, however you need to invest time to find what you are looking for. The owner tends to overcharge for products but she lets you bargain with her.

Bought a few things there, really good prices. Apple Magic Mouse for 10 bucks that worked perfectly. Apple wireless Bluetooth keyboard for 20 that was sealed and brand new.

Buyer Beware! If you like browsing through old and used items, this is the place for you; most of their stuff is overpriced junk, but there are some diamonds in the rough.
