Came here around the middle of May 2014 and just now thought about writing a review. My wife and I came here as this shop is a distributor for Public bikes. My wife found the bike she liked on the Public bike website and thought we could go in and check it out at the store. While we werent greeted upon entering the store, that didnt initially bother us. Sadly, they didnt have the bike on hand, but we figured we could work with the shop to place an order and then pick the bike up once it arrived. So we asked the gentleman behind the desk, who had a mustache of sorts, if he could help us out. We asked if we could order a bike through them, but he proceeded to tell us that they have all the Public bikes on the floor and that the model we were looking at was discontinued. So we left. Its a shame that this employee didnt want to go through the effort and look at the Public bike website. Its a shame he didnt want our business, but it is what it is. We ordered the bike through Publics website and it came in on time and almost completely assembled. We wanted to support this local business, but they didnt care enough to offer any level of customer service... and now Im that guy posting disgruntled reviews.

Disappointed with the gal working in the maintenance department. She spoke down to me and was outwardly displeased with performing an MS150 inspection. I was told, "You have a nice bike, but you should take better care of it." My bike is just shy of two years old and I ride on average 70+ miles weekly. Tightening the headset and a new chain are normal maintenance items and did not warrant her disapproval in my opinion. ======== 2016.04.12 UPDATE Returned today for final inspection after having the recommended work completed. The staff in the maintenance department were competent and inspected my bike quickly. No issues today. Willing to think my experience on 2016.03.25 was a one off. Raising my score from two stars to three. If required, I will bring my bike here, but I will stick to my normal bike shop for everything else. The best part of the store are the dogs in residence.

I never write reviews but I had such a great experience at Urban Bicycle Gallery. I havent ridden a bike in 10 years but I want to start commuting to work. My salesperson, Ross, was extremely helpful and patient with my lack of bike knowledge, without being condescending. He pointed me towards the basic no-frills bikes, which is all I need. He didnt try to upsell AT ALL which was very welcome. Im also short (52") and they had a great selection of XS-size bikes, which a lot of other stores dont carry. I spent less than I expected on a bike that is perfect for me, and it was a great experience. Strongly recommend going here if you want friendly, great service and great selection.

I walked into to the store looking to get new tires for my bike. From the start, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Im new to ridding bikes other than my old mountain bike. I told them kinda what I was looking for. They explained everything to me and were not pushy at all. When I went to pick up my bike, they were just as friendly. I needed a helmet and they showed me the different ones and asked what type of ridding I would be doing. I will differently go back. Plus they have a shop dog. That always wins points for me

Been working closely with the staff for several months now on the maintenance of both my road and mountain bikes. Danny in particular has really dug in on my requests and worked hard to keep my bikes in good condition. John has been very generous with his time and offered some great advice. Like any service business, caring about customers concerns is paramount, and John and Danny take this to heart. -Rick

I found very good reviews about this place so I drove 30 miles to find out that all the staff is there to back that up, great service, availability and support. You may be able to find a good bike anywhere but not whit such awesome customer service. They would stay on top of my concerns about the bike I bought even after purchasing with immediate response. Cannot be more satisfied!

I got great customer service from Jason. For 2 hours he helped me try out various bikes, sort out pros and cons and pick the perfect road bike within my price range, even staying late on a Saturday to help me find the rights shoes and pedals to go with it. He was friendly, professional, honest, and knowledgeable. I would recommend UBG to anyone looking for anything bike-related.

Jim gave me excellent customer service. He was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about their products. I didnt go in the store planning to buy a bike and I ended up buying one. He was not pushy, just friendly, and answered all my questions. I also love the shop owners dogs in the store. They add that extra touch of niceness to the place.

Very friendly staff. They fixed the tube on my bike right when they were closing, they didnt have to. But did even knowing they were closing already. We come here often to air up our bikes and other needs. & thought Id write a review about how nice these people are. I highly recommend anyone whos looking for great service to come here.

Went to Urban Bicycle Gallery today to look for a 29er. Although they did not have in stock what I was looking for, but the staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They patiently answered all my questions , made suggestions and gave me the opportunity to try several different bikes. Awesome experience.

Jason was a very down to earth and practical guy. We all want $4,000 bikes and he knows how to give you the best one that you can afford. After I picked my bike he had me ride several others to make sure that mine was truly the fit for me. The whole shop is a class act!!! No complaints whatsoever !!!!

Jason is a smart ass he doesnt realize that his attitude sucks .Ill never buy another 3100.00 Giant from this place,the guy is a racist,Ill take my chances elsewhere like West End Bikes,Bike Barn,I cycle or Blue Line....hopefully he can get his pawn shop license..

Seems like a nice store, but I wouldnt recommend it if you are looking for gear for spin class. They didnt seem super able to help me with that, although they were nice. A bit distracted while helping me, but not rude or anything.

Bought two old bikes from neighbor. Bikes were rusty with rotten tires. They brought both bikes back to looking new again - in just a week. Customer service is over top first rate Friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

I have been to just about every bike shop in my vicinity and by far the UBG guys have been the most helpful!!! Every time I have a problem I run to Johnny or Kai. If I ever decide to buy a new bike definitely going through UBG.

I had the front Crankset on my Univega fixed (new bearings, lubed) this week and it feels like a new bike. I will definitely go back. Coolest place in Houston.
