August 18, 2014 - This updated review is long overdue. My original post does not reflect on the overall importance and service that Elite Bicycles provides to our cycling community. When I wrote the initial review, I was new to cycling and my expectations were unreasonable. Sport has gone above and beyond resolving my subsequent problems despite the over critical review I wrote about his shop. You will not find a better bike shop in East Texas and you may not find more personalized service anywhere. I apologize for not correcting my initial review sooner. Ill have to agree with the most recent April post. I had 4 things that needed small parts or minor repair. The answer to each of my requests was that I needed a new or better one. I managed to fix all the problems myself something they could have done in seconds. Had I followed their recommendation, my little fix-its would have cost me upward of $300 and extra time installing and calibrating. It would be great to have a shop in Tyler that offers SERVICE instead of just SALES. Granted, this may have just been one bad day but its enough to taint my opinion for months if not years.

Customer service not in their vocabulary UPDATE: I finally got the part; however, when I picked it up they tried to charge me again for it (I pre-paid). Not only did they try double-charging, they also raised its price... 1st time I had them try to fix my bike. 2 weeks after not hearing back I called to check and they told me I was supposed to give them my pedals, so theyd done nothing that whole time (including no phone call to tell me). Them when I brought the pedals I learned they couldnt fix it (at least they called that time). 2nd time I ordered a small replacementl part and overpaid for it. I went to see if it had arrived, and learned it had. However, they wouldnt give it to me (even though it was paid for). It had to be checked in and apparently it was too much a hassle to do it then. Rather, they told me to come back another day. No show of care or bother about the first time never calling me, and of making me come back for a part already there. What a great time to go online bike shopping. I guess Ill search elsewhere for my next Stumpjumper Pro.

This place is amazing. I live in ohio and bought a vintage bicycle that I needed shipped here. I started with ups and they informed me that they do not have boxes big enough and to call a bicycle shop and ask for a box. I am not from Texas and was annoyed that ups could not help me further. Then I found Elite and they had a box that would fit my bike. And not only could they package the bike for me, they also had a shipper who is a fraction of the cost of ups. And way less hassle. I am so thankful to find Elite.

The problem with getting new tires for my bike for Christmas was trying to install them for the first time before theyre broken in. I have a few dings on my knuckles and one punctured bike tube to prove it. Elite Bicycles to the rescue! They installed them (even pointed out a defect in one tire and hooked me up with one they had in stock), installed my new Shimano pedals and sized my cleats. Best bike shop in East Texas.

This is just an all around amazing shop! I came in to get some work done on my old Bianchi, and they were able to get me everything I needed in a matter of seconds. The work they did was fantastic, and when one of the parts they ordered for me failed to arrive in time, they were able to upgrade me to a different item that they had in store! They have great customer service, and I will be returning there often.

Everytime I come into the shop, everyone is super helpful. I always get my questions answered, and then some.I started visiting the store when i was 15. I am now 26 and David and Sport have been there ever since. They are both very knowladgeable. Wether you need a repair, cleanup, upgrade, parts, or some biking supplies this is most definitely the place to stop at!

Best bike shop I have ever been to. It is a small shop but they provide the best customer service. Prices are very competitive and I know the staff will go out of their way every time I need something. They stayed open for an extra 45 minutes to help me fix my bike for the weekend. Very honest people reaching more for customer happiness than a profit.

The entire crew from Elite came down to Palestine to provide mechanical support for the Camino205 gravel ride this past October. A couple of the guys rode as well. They are all super-friendly guys and very competent at their craft. I dont live in Tyler, but this is my go-to shop when I am in the area!

Best bike shop i have been to, including anything in Dallas. This is the only shop I have seen where the guys put the needs of the customers first. Most shops feel like a used car lot, their main goal is to up sell you. But here, they want to help find what works best for you, Solid Shop.

Poor customer service, poor selection, poor prices. One guy there is nice, but I didnt have the pleasure of dealing with him, until I was leaving. Defiantly NOT a pro quality product shop. They have low end items for mid to high end prices.
