These guys are great. They are very helpful and ethical. Plus, they are welcoming as opposed to snobby as you will regrettably find at some bike shops. They have helped my fiance and me get more and more into cycling. They are not trying to "sell" you and load you up on more than you need or can afford. In fact, they have on more than one occasion counseled me to buy a LESS expensive product. They also have good prices on bike shoes, etc. A couple of examples of what its like to deal with these guys: they swapped out one new cassette for a different new cassette for me because I needed different gearing, and didnt charge me for it, even though i had put a few miles on the first one. Another example, my brother broke a crank arm off an old junker and was stranded near their shop. brother didnt have any $ and told him that but they fixed the crank arm on trust so he could ride home and get his wallet to pay them back, which he then did. You get the sense from working with these guys that they would prefer to make a living from helping you with your biking needs over time, as opposed to over-selling you once and having you never come back. The only thing they could improve is promptly ordering/notifying clients when parts or bike repairs are ready. But that is a small quibble. Overall, it feels great to support a local business that supports our burgeoning cycling hobby so well. Go give them a try!

Id like to start this review with an account of something that happened recently to give you guys an idea of what you can expect from the folks at Blue Line. I called Fred and Dave up one morning in something just short of a panic - the previous night, my Ulock froze up when I locked my boyfriends very nice bike up at Rudyards, and I had no idea how I could go about getting it open. Without any hesitation, Fred told me to come to Blue Line and ride with him to take a look at it. He dropped everything he was doing to drive me there and miraculously got it open without the electric saw that he brought along. This is just one account of many consistent examples of this business awesomeness - Blue Line often sponsors local races and events, organizes rides, and encourages safety for bicyclists. Their stuff is affordable, and they dont ever try to push pricey products on you for the sake of making a buck. I dont know much about bikes besides the fact that I like riding mine. That said, I have come into Blue Line countless times with various repair needs from basic tube change to brake problems and have NEVER ever felt "judged" for not knowing my stuff or for riding the "wrong" way. These guys are a wonderful asset to the community and I hope that they get the recognition and support from it that they deserve.

Over the past 4 years that Ive lived in the heights Ive really made an effort to like the Blue Line Bike Lab, its a local shop that Id love to give more business. The manager (Fred? The guy with the tats) is a genuinely friendly and knowledgeable guy, willing to help out anyone (he gets a 2/3). Unfortunately, some of the other staff are about as customer focused as my big toe (which isnt too customer focused). Ive gone in there many times to purchase a seat, a bike rack, baby seat or anything bike related and basically been blown off 3/4 times. One of the mechanics/employees has told me that he wouldnt know what to do with my bike (without even looking at it!). The only time that hasnt happened is when the owner, Fred, has assisted me. I would likely give them more business, if they werent so quick to pass over my needs/requests and/or blow me off. Twice now, Ive been told to go to another bike shop for my needs. Both West End bikes and Planetary Bicycles have been far more helpful in helping me with my family oriented biking needs. Fred, hire more dudes like yourself, just my 2 cents.

Youve gotta give props when props are due and Blue Line definitely earned this rave ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review... We just kinda strolled in to check out your stock, but then *boom* you guys were so awesome and kind to my sweet, but a tad nervous about giving biking a try after a long while, 70yr old Mom. You guys had the perfect bike for her (a sweet 7-speed Townie Cruiser with hand brakes...in her fav color Johnny Cash black) AND got it all fitted precisely for her AND made adjustments when she sheepishly didnt even have the bike vocabulary to know how to ask AND taught her how to use the gears AND pimped it out with a bell and basket we tacked on AND helped her get her helmet all adjusted and taught her how the metal clasp worked AND helped us load it into her car. A + for service and awesomeness and big props to our bike tech, Joshua! We came in looking for a bike...and got THE perfect bike, plus basket, plus bell, plus an adorbs Nutcase helmet...plus you snagged both our hearts. Kudos Blue Line!!

I really like this bike shop. I hadnt ridden in a while and brought my bike in for a tune up and just talked to theguys that work there and found them very down to earth and helpful. I also noticed that they treated the experienced riders and novices with the same amount of respect and enthusiasm about bikes. On a another visit I was looking for a small piece of hardware and one of the sales people said he would sell me the piece for $20 from a "name brand" bike manufacturer but that I could also get the same piece from a local hardware store for about $2. I paid the $20 for the convenience and the refreshing honesty that the guy gave me. I feel comfortable going there and asking them any questions I might have about my bike. Oh and the tune up they gave my bike? It was better than it was brand new and they cleaned it. I wont go anywhere else but Blue Line.

Very satisfied, extremely polite staff, very knowledgeable. Fast service, wheel true next day compared to other good shops that need several days. Left my bike for headset replacement, which they had to order. They called me back to update me on the order and they finished a day earlier than expected. They also let me try one of their new Pivot bikes - set me up really quickly and were very helpful. Superstar service. The best Ive seen around Houston so far. Prices were great on labor. They have very good hours including Sunday, work late till 7 weekdays - very convenient. Keep it up! Thanks! They are right on the heights hike and bike trail, very convenient if you want to test ride a new bike. Their high end mountain bikes brands are Pivot and Intense and they had several of those for you to try.

Ive bought 6 bikes from these guys over the years for my wife, daughter, son and myself. This shop rocks! They are really helpful and make an effort to figure out what you want from your ride or gear and make good recommendations to fit your needs. No up-sale pressure - they just help. One time my bike repair was late, but Fred made it right and only charged me for the parts. Thats service and knowing how to develop a repeat customer. They have some excellent bike mechanics and they go the extra mile to take care of you with warranty issues. Just a really great local business! If you pay them a visit, find Chuck and he will take good care of you.
