After being patronized condescendingly by a bike shop nearby Fletchers, wherein shop owner literally hung up phone on me, I quickly rode over to Fletchers. Met Kevin & Emmitt,told em chain was skipping gears etc, same thing Id told OTHER bike shop.Emmitt & Kevin did a quickfix, Emmitt even explained that he was moving chain to least worn gear till I can afford full replacement in 2 weeks.Other bike shop nearby 30 minutes earlier had sneered at me, in person, etc...?!! Kevin & Emmitt saved the day, as I ride bike EVERYWHERE!! Thx, dudes, you are TRUE cyclists, in spirit also!! Emmitt is one of the most FOR REAL people Ive met in Houston, and these dudes are THE ONLY SHOP thats made me feel completely at ease. Thx. { Of note, I TRIED to be politically correct, and say graceful things toward Kevin, the owner, when in ACTUALITY : Kevin snobbily dissed me EVERY time I called. And, when I PAID him to temporarily fix my chain from skipping, Kevins fix lasted about 6 hours. So, I returned to Fletchers, and Kevins bike tech Enmity TOTALLY broke it down to me my problem, & adjusted derailluer, unlike Kevin did. Fkng bike has ran PERFECT since Emmitts work. Just got my NEW parts, called Kevin, and AGAIN he was just the put-upon D**k to me via phone, so I said "Ill only come when bike tech Emmitt is there!", to which Kevin replied, Oh yeah?! Well, I FIRED Emmit!" FK Fletchers Bike Studio.

I recently built a bicycle from parts I bought online, and all I can say is it wouldnt have been feasible for me without the guys at Fletcher. I went in immediately after receiving my frame and talked with Kevin for a while about how I was thinking of building it up, and we measured most of the dimensions (free of cost) I was going to need to begin ordering parts. After parts came trickling in, I quickly realized that I had neither the tools nor the experience and know-how to properly assemble the bike on my own. Over a span of a couple of months, I had the bottom bracket and headset installed, wheels trued, fork cut, and other assembly done by the guys at Fletcher. All work was completed within a day or two and was of high quality. I always received a call from Kevin letting me know as soon as things were ready. If youre looking for a local bike shop with fast and friendly service and knowledgeable people, or you just was to talk about bike stuff, you cant do any better than Fletcher.

Great LBS (local bike shop)! Recently back in Houston and in need of a good wheel truing–having tried and failed to true them myself–I came by this shop through a Google search. Ive been to most of the bike shops around town before, and while satisfied with most, I wanted to try a new place. It turned out to be a great decision. Kevin fixed up my wheels, despite having to cope with a few mangled spoke nipples. I also needed a new tube, which he had at a decent price. I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of work and the final bill of sale. A few weeks later, the rubber around the valve stem cracked, which as any cyclist knows, cant really be patched. With something as mass-produced as an inner tube, a few lemons are bound to crop up. It was replaced without any hassle. Awesome customer service! That is how loyalty is fostered. Im hooked. Check em out!

I was looking for a bike shop to bring my road bike for service. I liked the reviews I saw online and was not disappointed. Kevin was very friendly and knowledgeable; he adjusted my Sram red yaw front derailleur which had given me problems for quite a while and cleaned and greased my bottom bracket which was noisy. I had not noticed it but he also tightened my headset which was a little loose. His co-worker at the shop tried my bike to make sure that it was running smoothly. They charged me much less than I expected and I received a call the next day to let me know that my bike was ready. I was very impressed by their professionalism and will not take my bike for service anywhere else in the future.

I noticed the back wheel on my road bike was missing a bearing. Although I did not have the bike with me, the guys at Fletcher helped determine the size of the missing bearing. They did not have new bearings in stock, but gave me some used bearings for free. Used bearings seemed okay since my bike is over 20 years old anyway. After arriving home, I went to work on my hubs and was pleased to observe that the replacement bearings worked perfectly! After receiving a free service, the least I can give back to Fletcher Bike Studio is a FIVE STAR RATING!

Originally came in for a pre built BMX rim/hub I inquired about the day prior. When I came in I was told it had been sold and the owner told me if I wanted to buy a hub and rim he would assemble it right on the spot. Well he did exactly that and had me out of there in about an hour! Awesome dudes I got to speak to and got some solid tires for a steal as well. He even offered to give me a hell of a deal on another pre-built free coaster rim he had in Stock. Would recommend to anybody needing advice or any bike service!

Went here based on the positive reviews and was not disappointed. Kevin Fletcher and his team run a personable, friendly shop where they spent as much time as you need to answer your questions (no matter how basic). They did a great job -- at a reasonable price -- of making my old Trek 1000 rideable after many years in storage. This is a small neighborhood shop, so you cant expect a huge inventory, but they seem careful in what they stock. If/when I decide to get a new ride, Ill be back.

Outstanding organization! As an inexperienced cyclist, I felt very comfortable asking for their help and accepting their suggestions. I needed to return a bike to another shop, they professionally repacked my bike, using one of their own bike boxes, and completed everything in one day. I will not dare go anywhere else for cycling service. Give them a try and Im sure youll be impressed by their outstanding customer service and cycling know-how. Thanks guys!

Best bike shop in Montrose, hands down. I went there for simple service and the gentleman there was down-to-earth and very informative. I use my bike to commute and he gave me information that would not only maintain my bike but better its performance. He was honest about all of his products, including what isnt worth the money and what is the best bang for my buck. I would recommend this place over any other bike shop in Montrose. The people make it worth it.

Quick and effective! I got a flat on my bike one day and was near this location. I did not have a back-up tire and decided to make the hike to have my flat tire fixed here. Not only did the gentleman working fix my flat in under 5 minutes, but it didnt cost me all the much either. They have won me as a customer and I know where I will continue to go if/when I should encounter any bike malfunctions.
