This store has really gone downhill. It is not well stocked and does not carry the fat free and low fat choices it used to. They also often run out of items they send Kroger coupons for. On my last visit 3/29/2014 9 pm I tried to use 2 Kroger coupons the cashier verified that it should have worked. But she could not override the register and there are no managers. So she said I could come back the next day to get a refund. I live 16 miles from the store so in order to get my $2.50 refund Id have to use 2 gallons of gas at $3.79 per gallon... Oh by the way I spent $218.88 Both Target and Meijer are better stores just too far. I cant wait for Meijer to open in West Lafayette.

This is a great store with a variety of items that I was used to purchasing in north Oakland county. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I was shopping there recently, when I tripped and my cans of soda burst open. A staff member saw me and came over to check to see if I was ok. I was going to ask her for a bag to put the remaining cans so I could take them home with me. She said that she would simply replace the entire pack of cans. I was very impressed, as it was not the fault of Pay Less that I mis-stepped and dropped the items I had already purchased. It is definitely my favorite store.

I do not like this store. I had been shopping at Publix, where the stores are always neat and clean, and the best place in town to buy a sandwich. This was a shock to the system. The only time I went to buy a sandwich - they had boxes on top of the sandwich making station. The people in the fish department tell you the wrong way to cook the fish. They just had a remodel and somehow made the store worst. For the most part the people that work there have been friendly and helpful. I would avoid going there after work, it is a madhouse and the lines are long.

I called from Kansas inquiring about the possibility of sending a gourmet fruit & snack basket to a friend in Lafayette whod lost his father. Martha in the floral department was very helpful and she personally prepared the basket including items I requested. It was ready on the date & time I requested and I had no shipping fees to pay. My friend said the basket was awesome & I was so happy that I could easily do something personal for him even though I couldnt travel to Lafayette for the service.

Everyone is so nice & polite even when they are busy. The customer service department is great too!!! I enjoy talking with the people there while I take care of my business they are always helpful & will go out of there way to make sure you are happy & satisfied. I also love looking at there markdown tables. Theres always something there that I have on my grocery list & who doesnt love to buy something for 1/2 price!!!

This store used to be one of the nicest Payless stores in the area. Something has changed and it doesnt seem as nice. Maybe its under new management. The staff are friendly and prices are reasonable, but the place is always a mess - inside and out. It seems that they let people park in the fire lane, trash blow around the parking lot, and carts sit in parking spaces all day.

Great place reasonable prices friendly store staff good selections too yeah House brands as good if not better than national brands,but they dont handle alligator in the seafood section miss it.So i live without it. Oh and within walking distance from my apartment too. You want excellent quality at fair prices you cant miss at payless,

Large parking area to put your car. Wide, well lit aisles. They have a good selection of local beers here. Prices are usually OK, but usually not the absolute lowest in town. Theyve got a good selection of most grocery items, plus they have their own store-brand items too.

Always busy, fairly convenient for handicap parking. Decor and store arrangement is adequate, some times not enough functioning handicap electric carts for such a busy place. Carts are old and at times function poorly or have not been attentively kept charged.

I will never order from their bakery again. Several times Ive ordered and paid in advance and they never have the cake done on time. I give them a month notice, and they still cant get done on time. Im so done with them.

They are fabulous! I love the Chocolate Chip cookie recipe. It has not changed at least in the 30 years I have been eating them. Their hometwon hospitality has never changed either.

Awesome produce, and an amazingly good store brand. Ive been able to replace most name brand items I used to buy with Kroger brand. Also has great deals if you have a customer card.

Good selection, scary customers. One was stumbling drunk wearing sock but no shoes..in the middle of the afternoon. Cant blame the store but it was still little creepy.

Nice staff. Average grocery store prices. Lines can be long sometimes but they work hard to get you checked out quickly. Prefer this over Marsh and Wal*Mart any day.

A typical unloved kroger store. Its got fine stuff, but its not pretty. Kroger in west Lafayette gets five times the corporate love.
