Looking for a new bike? This is the bike shop to definitely stop by at and check out. I was on the market for a new Tri Bike when a friend of mine recommended I check out Bay Area Schwinn. I was specifically looking into purchasing a Cervélo triathlon bike. This bike shop is one of 7 Bike shops in the entire Houston area that is an authorized Cervélo vendor. The space isnt very big but it fits just enough bikes to give you a good selection of bikes to choose from. They carry a good amount of bike accessories and even clothing to go for your rides. Im not the tallest guy in the crowd, many times this can be an inconvenience. Shopping for a new bike is one of those inconveniences because most bike shops dont tend to carry bike sizes fit for my height on a regular basis. I was lucky enough to see a Cervélo in the shop that was just the exact size I needed but unfortunately it was already sold. The employee at the shop was kind enough to let me ride that bike for a few minutes just to make sure that was the size I needed. And it was. One other thing that attracted me to this bike shop is the fact that they purchase used bikes in case youre looking to sell. I had a Triathlon that was a little over a week away and I really wanted to have this bike before my race. I spoke with the owner of the store and he offered to have a Cervélo overnighted for me for an extra shipping fee. Just to clarify, overnight doesnt actually mean it will be here the next day when it came to this bike since it was shipping directly from Cervélo headquarters in Canada. Customs put a delay in the shipping, which I was perfectly fine with as long as I received my bike on time. It took approx. 1 week to have the bike in my hands, ONE DAY before my race day! Phew! Lucky me! What I really appreciated about the whole experience is the communication between the owner and I. He checked in with me a few times to give me an update on my order, he didnt seem bothered if I called back to see if there were any additional updates. Overall, it was a very good shopping experience and thanks to them I am now a proud owner of a new Cervélo P3!

Great and very knowledgeable staff that seem to love everything "bicycle" in nature. Can find any part (or answer) here -- from the most mainstream high end bike/component to the very obscure. What may not always seem like the best of service here is actually them spending the time needed with each customer to make sure they get the most from their purchase. Wait your turn and youll have the best experience buying whatever it is you need (even if you have no clue as to what it is). Honestly. And yes sometimes mistakes are made either by the manufacturer or by the shop itself,......but given the opportunity they will always be fair in making it right. Truly the greatest bike shop in all of Houston. A hidden gem.

This place is about as far from the corporate greed machine as you can get. Just good old fashioned personal caring service from a small charming family owned establishment. Anybody who could complain about their prices is obviously not familiar with Schwinn quality and should just go back to Wal*Mart. Most of their bikes are probably quality priced, Im not sure. I bought my Schwinn in Detroit. I come here for the accessories which are often much cheaper than I can find online! The last time I asked for a price on something he told me to just take it! Once, while biking in the area, my bike needed an adjustment and he came out and fixed it for me for free. I recommend them to everybody.

The owner of the shop has a vast amount of knowledable on what on the market in regards to mountain bike products. I bought a Rock Hopper Pro from these guys at $400 bucks below market value. He spent the time to research manufacturers inventorys to local the best deals. I brought one of my other friends in to his shop they located another good deal from him as well. So far the service and prices are excellent. They will work with you.

My favorite bike shop in town. Theyve been here for a very long time and are extremely knowledgeable - theres nothing on a bike they cant fix. The guys here have set me up with the gear I needed to do some bikepacking / mountain biking. The shop is family owned and has a small-town feel with high-end bikes. Check out the cool Schwinn cruisers hanging from the ceiling / on the back rack -- theyre super old school + totally original antiques.

I recently took my bike in for a rear rim that needed to be straightened. Since this was the 3rd time in less than 3 months, we decided it would be best to have the rim replaced. They worked hard to expedite the new parts and install the new components quickly so I would have my bike for an upcoming weekend trip. They even cleaned up my bike a bit and all at very reasonable prices. Would recommend to anyone!

I have used many bike shops over the years and this is my favorite by far. Ive bought 5 bikes from Jeff over the years and I have not found anyone that can touch his prices. Fred the mechanic is very knowledgeable and capable. Greg the manager(?) Is really helpful and easy to work with. Over all a cool place to buy bikes or just chat it up. I would not go anywhere else.

This place is awesome! The staff is top notch and very knowledgeable! Bought myself and wife a bike from here and the prices are unbeatable! Do yourself a favor and come here and save money. No other place especially bike barn has anything on this place! I am referring everyone and anyone who asks me about my bikes here. About to order my daughter a bike as well!!!

Love this place. High end bike store in old Pasadena. Been there for ages. Cracked up at Jesss review. Wal-Mart has bikes $200 cheaper than Bay Area Schwinn, but they certainly dont have the same thing for $200 less. Wal Mart Bikes take your kids around the block for a couple years. Bay Area Schwinn bikes take you on the MS 150 for 10 years.

They really know their stuff and are very helpful. If they dont have something in stock, they will always order it for you which is tough to get in some other stores. Also, they dont have that "Im a faster cyclist than you so bow down to me" feeling that you get when you walk into some other cycling shops. Customer service is top notch!

Dont get carried away by the entrance look from the parking lot. Inside youll find a great choice of amazing tris and road bikes. Always ask for the final price as almost nothing is sold at retail in my experience. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a place to check prices if you need a new bike!

Very poor and slow service, I am currently on hold for 5 minutes, just to check if a part i ordered came in. I understand my request for a unicycles tire is odd but they acted as if I wasnt supposed to be there. I found my way out as quick as possible. kudos for finding the part but not the most pleasurable experience.
