Response to "crazy old pharmacist" I have known the pharmacist for some time now. From the description below i can tell that you had a compounded prescription, which is much different than the normal prescriptions that are brought in everyday. These prescription are specially made for the individual person and thus require different procedures. First off, since it is specially made for you, no other patient can use the medicine after it has been compounded. For this reason a credit card is taken and charged before compounding begins. Regarding the time estimation, compounded prescription take much more time than an average prescription, and depending on how many patients are before you will determine how long it takes. The pharmacist wont be able to give you an exact time, but he does give you an estimated time.

OK so I come from a long list of medical people in my family.. I just movedto SF from the So Bay and transferred my prescriptions to Rexall because it looked like there are some good reviews.. But I first got a call for me to call them back.. Then after being on hold for a while.. I called back and asked them to call me.. When the pharmacist called me back he sounded like he was 150 years old and couldnt understand what I was saying .. Told me he has a lot of stuff to do so he will call and let me know when the prescriptions would be ready sometime the nextday he would call didnt know when he would have it ready.. then he asked for my credit card up front.. very strange interaction.. and way of doing business at a pharmacy..

The new owners are wonderful and very helpful, especially the pharmacist Will and the pharmacy tech Mark. Theyre very supportive and theyll track your refills and have them ready for you to pick up. The customer service is outstanding! The previous owner, Sam, retired so its a completely new operation now and much better run. I highly recommend Sunset Wellness Pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is substantially friendlier and more helpful than the Walgreens on Irving St.

The pharamcist is just one of a kind. He integrates a knowledge of contemporary state of the art pharmacology with a wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. He understands psychopharmacology brilliantly. I am a physician and always thought myself to be # 1 in compounding. After meeting Sam Ive got some doubts about it. Anyway, Bay area is blessed to have him and his pharmacy!

I have gone here a few times to pick up some over the counter medicine when I am feeling ill. They have great service there, and they can help you around the store. There is also tons of parking so you wont have to circle. They also sell different things in there so its not just all drugs. Nice and good location.

There are so few Compounding pharmacies anywhere in the U.S. - this Rexall is well placed (down the street from UCSF Hospital) and well staffed by knowledgable, calming, gentle people. Whether you need asprin, soda and chips, a regular prescriptions or a compounded one this Rexall is terrifi.

Ive never had the pleasure of walking in to this pharmacy, but I have ordered over the phone and had stuff shipped to me ridiculously fast. They are a compounding pharmacy, so when CVS was unable this pharmacy was. They are fast and professional. Thank you.

Very rude staff, espeically in my case when I was purchasing condoms. The staff tried to bring me back onto the path of Jesus at the register. This is completely unprofessional and I will not be going back.
