Awful experience; Awful store; Awful customer service!! If I could rate it with zero stars I would... I went in to get a custom engagement ring back in December 2016, from the store here in Bowie, MD. I already had an heirloom diamond, but wanted a different setting. I ordered a custom setting from them on December 8, and was given a promise date of January 8. January 8 comes around and I dont get a phone call from Kay letting me know about the ring. I call the store on Jan 8 and nobody knows where the ring is, Im told it should be here Monday or Tuesday." So after being delayed and ME calling the store everyday, I get the ring 5 days after the promise date." The agent tells me there were some defects that she wasnt happy with and that she would order a new ring after the engagement. My fiance and I go back into the store on Jan 21 and spoke with the agent. After our discussion, we ordered a new setting (the same ring) and in the correct size (it ended up being a little too big); we were told itd take 10 days. After 12 days I still received no phone call, and called the store. They ordered it wrong, and it was delivered in the wrong metal....but nobody from the store decided to call me and tell me that, instead they tried to keep me in the dark about it all. I was told it would take another 10 days for it to come in. That should have put us at Feb 17, but they were delayed because "Valentines Day is their busiest holiday." Feb 26 comes and Ive had enough; no phone calls no updates, nothing. I went to corporate. After being assigned a case specialist and several back and forth, we were told that the vendor ran out of the metal and that we needed to order a new setting altogether. Now when was Kay gonna tell me the vendor ran out of metal and that my ring would be delayed?? Ever? The store was blaming the vendor, the vendor was blaming Kay; nobody was taking any responsibility for their incompetence. Nobody was giving us a straight answer, they kept jerking us around and leaving us in the dark. We had had enough. We had my heirloom stone removed, returned the setting to the store and got a full refund. The best part, is there was no apology from the Bowie store manager, she had no idea we were there to get a refund, she was completely out of touch with the issues going on at her store. They already had my money, and didnt care about my satisfaction or resolving the issue. Through the entire process, I made over 20 calls to corporate and the Bowie store....I received 3 phone calls in return from Dec 8 til March 13....1 of those calls was soliciting me for more money!!!! Dont waste your time or money in that store...they dont care about you or your satisfaction, they just want your money and thats it.

Horrible, horrible experience. Dont give your hard earned money to this location or corporation. My fiance went to Kay thinking that they were a reputable company who valued their customers. Kay is far from reputable and does not care about their customers whatsoever. We began working with the Bowie location back in November 2016 and still (it is now March 2017) do not have my engagement ring in the correct setting. Promise date after promise date (there have been at least three given to us) to have the finished ring was unfulfilled. They never returned our calls nor reached out to us proactively when the order was not fulfilled. Since we started working with them they called us three times--and once was for a store promotion--to our 15+ calls. We escalated it and had a "case specialist" who was "going to make it right." The case specialist blamed the store. The store and case specialist blamed the vendor. Then, Kay told us the vendor (who is Quality Gold btw--they refused to tell us and we found it ouy ourselves) was "out of stock" of the setting we wanted. We finally had enough and went to a small business jeweler. They called Quality Gold for us and turns out they werent "out of stock." Again, Kay passed the buck onto anyone but themselves, never chose to make it right or take responsibility for the complete screw up. They didnt care. They already had our money. So thankfully we kept fighting and received a full refund. And if this all wasnt bad enough, the supposed store manager had "no idea" what had happened, offered no apology when we went in for the refund, nothing. Gotta love it. Invest your money elsewhere--particularly a local jeweler who cares about you as a customer. Oh, and itll be a lot cheaper. The mark up on Kay is ridiculous. We are purchasing the same exact setting for $400 cheaper.

We took a ring in to have it sized that we purchased from another Kay store. They sent in the wrong size making it MUCH larger than it should have been so we took it back. That took 10 days to do it the first time. When we went back to pick the ring up we stood around for 10 minutes before anyone waited on us. We told them that it was messed up and needed to be redone. So they measured it again and sent it in to be sized with a "RUSH" on it! Its been 2.5 weeks now and still no ring! I cannot suggest anyone go there for their jewelery needs of any kind.

I had an amazing experience at this particular location especially by Ms. Ndidi Ukaibe. I went to this location to know my ring size and potential engagement ring, and left with more information than I can imagine (e.g.,The 4 Cs). She really took her time out to make sure I was well informed and I did not feel rushed at all. This particular branch is also very neat and well organized with excellent workers providing great customer service. Thanks for the quality service you provide Kays Bowie! I will definitely be back soon.

Terrible customer service and repair business. The Manager and Sales Associates were rude and disinterested in servicing me as a client. I purchased a bracelet in October, 2011 and after returning it 4/times for the correct repair, I still have not received my purchase. Last I heard, it would be in January, 2012 that I should receive it from the repair shop. Seriously, from October, 2011 to January, 2012, is what they are expecting. Does this sound like a place you want to spend your money at? NOT!

I was already nervous to enter into the store by myself, but as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a super nice employee by the name of Ndidi Ukaibe. She helped my nervousness and walked me through all things ring sizes, to cushion cuts, and to my dream cushion custom cut ring with ease! Excellent service, you are in good hands here. Cant wait to be back with my DREAM MAN!!!! :-))
