First off, There should be no reason why Tillimook ice cream should be $8! There is hope though.. ice cream wont melt in a half an hour car ride...so go to Aberdeen..as long as it is not too hot in the vehicle. That is what I do for now on. I do NOT ever want to go back there again unless it is a dire emergency. But this stirs up a bit of brainstorming that is not too hard to unmask on this notion: The pricing of the items of this grocery store are scandalous when it comes to high demand of tourists and does not show any sympathy towards the locals. It is a joke to think that this store is any way affordable to the local everyday people. This store obviously preys upon the fact that it is the ONLY grocery store in town, therefore, everyone plays by their price standards... not decent ones. Reading all these reviews shows that this store is FAR more expensive than most Seattle grocery businesses and thriftways. I moved here months ago and plan to stay..for a while.. (since my boyfriend wants to never leave) so Im stuck with it?... no! Everything is so much cheaper in Aberdeen that even after paying for the gas it takes to get there and back (in my gas guzzler, mind you) it still saves me money! Also... that bald guy that one review was referring to (The Waynes World guy lol) may be quite friendly.....but he makes me very uncomfortable. He also likes to gossip about other people in the town... I mean .. I dont want to hear about peoples meth problems! Eww! He actually points these people out too.. I mean whether these people do drugs or commit crimes or what.. I do not want to know honestly! .. and that is so rude to talk behind those peoples backs.. One thing I did not like was that I had a small cart of items. I did not see what the guy had behind me . Mr. Waynes world bald guy scolded me for not letting the guy behind me go first (even though I didnt know the guy only had one item), pulled him to the front and gossiped with him for like 7 minutes about some thing that went down with stolen or pawned things because of intoxication or something (they obviously knew each other and planned to talk in line). Then I went up, and he would not let me take my purse out of the cart or move my bread that was being crushed telling me "This is my job" or something.... did he think I was shoplifting or something... I dont have the slightest clue why the most friendly guy that works in the store was being so rude to me. Then he told the guy behind me that had a basket of things that since he did not have too many items, he could go to the customer service desk for help. Upon leaving I glared at him at said "You know, you could have told the guy with the single item to go to the customer service desk" ... I had adrenaline upon leaving that store. The next time I purchased something from that store, I paid someone else to do it for me because that guy is working there... and it was for a night time emergency. Unless I have to, I will NEVER go back there! Oh! But the cool chick that has the colorful hair with pretty flowers in it rocks! Shes just adorable and very helpful! Why doesnt this town have more people like her? <3

For being the only grocer in the town of Ocean Shores you would think owner of the store would take pride in making the store clean and in working order. The lights in nearly all the coolers and freezer were not working. I was going to buy ice cream but didnt do to the fact the box had melted ice cream all over the bottom of the freezer. The reason for my visit was to purchase 1% milk and went with 2% instead because the price of 1% was 5.99!!!! Which I think is completely insane! The price of 2% was 2.49 and so was fat free which doesnt make ANY SENSE in the price increase at all! I continue to go to the Ocean Shores IGA regretfully when I need simple items but Im ALWAYS wishing I drove the extra 20 miles to go to Safeway in Aberdeen. IGA continues to mark up prices you would think they would use the extra money to fix up the store!

Im from the Puget Sound area and have had quite a lot of visits to Ocean Shores over the years. Ive found that some visitors will shop at the Ocean Shores IGA, others will make the drive out to Aberdeen to shop for grocery type items. I seem to be in the middle. Sometimes I stop in Aberdeen on the way in, then shop at the IGA as well for some items. I know some people have complained about prices, quality, etc., Ill say not every trip to the IGA has been great, but Ive never had any problem getting cleared up by the staff. And it is a good store to have close to the beach areas during the summer, and for those going in winter months dont have to slog it out to Aberdeen in the storms. Yeah, I dont like their above normal prices for some things, but their customer service gives them an above 3 stars from me.

Kathy or Kate the employee of the store whatever her name is, is extremely rude and discriminatory because my wife and I both in our thirties went to pick up a few things before going to our hotel and I was paying, my wife left her wallet that had her ID in it and the employee named Kathy or Kate would not sell us the beer. Even though I was paying and of age. My sister was behind us in line with her teenage son, and was only asked for date of birth not picture ID. Which I was completely offended by! In my opinion not only is the store expensive the customer service is unprofessional. Also, the employee needs to educate herself about Washington State Laws!

Way too expensive and not enough product selection. You can spend a lot of money and get one protein item and some basics. Safeway in Aberdeen is at least half the cost. Often products are on shelf past sell date so be sure to check all items before buying. Items on sale as advertised are often misrepresented and not available. The guy (Chris?) who seems to be a manager is unhelpful, rude, and I have seen him doing inappropriate things like kissing and flirting with female cashiers. Most of the other staff is friendly. Save your money and the battle with rude elderly customers who seem to think its fine to cart ram you and go to Safeway.

Its really the only grocery store within 20 miles...take it or leave it. Honestly though...pretty decent selection for a place of its size. The Mac and cheese in the deli is terrible...and for some reason the boss keeps buying it for lunch. I just gotta stomach it I suppose...try to avoid it at all costs. Everything else in the deli is delicious though. Other than that...standard grocery selection at a slightly higher price than anywhere else. But hey its at the beach...where else are you gonna go? Hoquiam is 20 miles away and you spend more in gas there and back. Dont eat the Mac and Cheese though...youve been warned.
