Stuck in the 80s. They are slowly starting to get things like TreeTop Fresh Pressed Apple Juice, but most items in the store are full of preservatives and the store feels like a time machine to the past. Theres no items like the Keebler Fresh Baked cookies -- instead its the old school ones full of preservatives that the current generations dont like. I noticed once they added the TreeTop fresh juice in the past couple weeks, it ran out very quickly compared to all the old school juices next to it. The management seems to be clueless about what customers want in 2016. Maybe they think the inhabitants of Aberdeen are not refined enough to eat fresh, preservative free versions of food as offered in the inner-city Safeway stores. Hopefully they will catch on someday and realize that even people in Aberdeen like fresh food. They could greatly improve the monthly profits by catering toward what the current generations eat, rather than the 1980s. It doesnt need to turn into Whole Foods or something -- actually all the main American brands are offering preservative free, organic, or non-GMO foods that compete with their old school variations on the same shelf.

Compared to other Safeways, this one suffers from poor management of the deli area only. The Chinese food Deli area has not had food labels in months. They dont offer wrapping the express special with plastic wrap. When you ask for the plastic wrap, they seem annoyed with you. They never offer fortune cookies, soy sauce or anything else theyre supposed to. Ive stopped eating at the deli while Im renovating my house because they act put out when you ask for things. It takes them a long time to realize someone is there waiting to get an order. Then while youre looking at the options with no labels, they just stand there with their mouth hanging open like theyre really bored and annoyed that someone showed up to order food. I almost went to the manager last time I was there but didnt want to waste my time because it was later at night (about 7pm) and I probably wouldnt find a manager. The last person also just handed me my food and walked away immediately not wanting to check me out there. I had to check out where the groceries are and that took forever. Im doing all my shopping and everything else at Walmart I guess.

This is definitely the nicest grocery store in Grays Harbor, probably the nicest anywhere even in neighboring counties without traveling to Olympia. The store is fairly updated (remodeled less than 10 years ago) and has good prices compared to other stores around. I worked in grocery retail for almost a decade and I did tons of comparison shopping and Safeway always had some of the best prices, but not always. Often enough that I would always shop here and always do though. Surprisingly the few times Ive been in WalMart since they added a grocery section the prices over there havent even been lower, or the prices that were lower were for a noticeably lower quality item. My only complaint is that I often come through early in the morning on my way to work and this location does not open until 6am currently, and they usually only have 1 register open until 8am or later, even the deli has no register in the mornings while serving breakfast. More than a few times Ive had to just leave without making a purchase because I couldnt wait for a 6 or 7 customer long line and only 1 open register.

My wife and I had ordered a birthday cake for our daughter Joplynnes 3rd Birthday on the 7th or 8th giving ample time to make that cake as we are fully aware of the 24 hour notice to you guys to make it. The scheduled pick up date was for the 10th at 1 pm. When my wife (Stacey) went to pick it up at 1 pm to told they didnt have ANY record of us reserving a cake for Joplynne. A member of the bakery had told Stacey they can make it in about 20 minutes and asked her to come back. Are you kidding me? NO apology was given for their mistake nor NO discounts for our inconvenience. My family have been LOYAL customers of your store for more than 10 years and NEVER imagined that we would be treated this poorly. We would have been understanding a little more if we had been apologized to at the time of the problem but now we should be offered a discount on the purchase because of the inconvenience to us. At this point, I think we will look elsewhere for our baked goods that will treat us like a valued customer.

Listened to a cashier screaming and arguing with a customer about an in store add, cashier then left the checkout, and went to check the posted add, leaving a line of customers , came back after 4 min and 3 pages by her manager to return. While the manager was running another register and was unable to abandon his customers, the cashier came back and told the customer it was in fact buy 2 get 2 free, not buy 1 get one free, so the customer asked if she could pay, then go get her 2 free, the cashier told her no, she would have to go to customer service and reverse the entire order, and come back through the line.. Ive been shopping Safeway for 30+ years, but will never spend money in a place that belittles a customer and treats them that rudely.

We just got out after getting a Stsrbucks coffee and filling up on a very congested Sunday. As we pulled in my partner noticed the regular gas price of$2.559 was well below a gas station we had passed . We decided to get gas as well as a coffee. I ran into Starbucks and waited for one cup if coffee while they served several people behind me in line that had smoothies etc. In the meantime, my partner noted the price of gas posted had changed from the $2.559 to $2.669 as we pulled in. Once he made sure he had the regular gas running, he turned and noted the gas price was actually $2.779 ! I felt they were cheating the customer, but we have to get out of the congestion. Watch out!

Nothing out of the ordinary just a regular big grocery store none of the employees go out of their way to smile or be friendly maybe an occasional cashier or two they dont have many workers on the floor available to help you find anything and Im a couple of occasions that I found someone and needed help they werent real clear on where the item might be but mainly the atmosphere it isnt a place that I would like to work for sure and I only go there when its necessary because honestly its just depressing when you go in somewhere and no one smiles or says hello

This is a great place to shop. I have allegiance to Aberdeen WA Safeway, I love that they have best practices compared to Swansons. Their merchandise is fresh, and when you ask where something is, an employee actually walks you to the item you are looking for. It is great that they are bringing in more food items based on the demographics of this area. Highly recommend getting your needs here, especially if you are out of town and headed to the beaches!!!
