Even though I live in Ellicott City, Ive always shopped at Smyths Towson location. However, over the last two weeks, on two occasions Ive had the pleasure of getting to know the Ellicott City Smyth Staff. On my first visit, I entered the store with a gift certificate that was over seven years old (embarrassing), and they treated me like royalty. The sales consultant took the time to learn my preferences and listen what I liked. Consequently, I left with a beautiful necklace. On my second visit, my husband & I brought in many items of jewelry in need of repair, along with two watches (not purchased at Smyth) that required batteries. Though they were scheduled to close in thirty minutes, the staff sized a watch, installed two watch batteries and sized a wedding ring (all free of charge). Amazing! Love this store, love the selection and especially love the staff. Thank you, Smyth of Ellicott City!

Received a great product for a fair price. The reason for the three star rating: 1: Was told I would receive the appraisal papers within a few days after purchasing a ring, have yet to receive an appraisal and its been a couple of weeks. 2: Online it states that the Friday hours are until 8 PM, well after driving 40 minutes to the location I found that to be completely false. Will gladly change the rating if these issues were to be resolved. EDIT: Recently talked with store management and they had all my problems resolved. Management was very friendly and considerate in addressing the issue. The resolution was a very quck process and the management was very understanding.

Worked with Liz to pick out an engagement ring for my now fiancé. I really appreciated her taking the time to review all the options I had within my price range, and especially her recommendations on where spending additional money wasnt necessary. She also helped us pick out our wedding rings and again made the process very easy. I would highly recommend working with her. We have also had a great experience with John who helped size my fiancés ring and cleaned it on multiple occasions at no cost which was much appreciated. Overall, Liz, John and everyone at Smyth did an excellent job and always make us feel welcome and valued whenever we stop in.

Liz was so great with helping my mom for her wedding present to my sister!! My sister Bridget has a severe allergy to most metals, and she helped us through the problem of transferring my great grandmothers opal earnings into platinum settings. We knew she had an allergy to gold, and Liz said that platinum was the way to go. We put our trust in her, and couldnt be happier!! My sister loves the earrings, and to this day I use Smyth as my one stop shop for Christmas gifts!! Love this place and EVERYONE who works there!!

I love the variety of things and the value you get at Smyth, but what really keeps me coming back is Liz. She is so much more than a salesperson she is like a family member. She checks in on me and my mom. She even asks about my cat! She pays attention and knows what I like. She contacts me for sales and deals on things she knows I would love. She has yet to steer me or any other family member that Ive sent her wrong. We will all keep coming back to see Liz for all our needs.

Good people were friendly there was this one guy African American l believe his name was Luke or Lew but he was very nice and patient. I looked at several rings and couldnt find the right size the sales person offered to have it sized for me but I refused to do it that way because of Superstition.
