This store has had pretty good prices up until the last few months. The Dvd prices have literally doubled and tripled compared to the stores in romeo and clarkston. I actually get better deals at those stores than this one in oxford. The prices are usually .99-2.99 for normal dvds at the other salvation army stores in Oxford that figure is 2.99-7.99 for normal dvds. If you want dvd seasons at the other salvation army stores they are 5.99-7.99 at the store in oxford they start at 9.99 and Ive seen prices in the teens. They should realize when the movies sit there for weeks on end. Even on the half off color days the prices are too high. I paid 4.99 for a movie which has scratches on it and didnt even play. You cant return the dvds either. They also put clear packing tape on the dvds in an ineffictive attempt to combat shrink. Which has just made shopping even more annoying for customers. Heads up guys goodwill nextdoor dvds are 1.99 a piece and 1 dollar on color days. They dont have the selection of dvds that oxford salvation army has cause goodwill sells all theyre dvds while they sit on a rack for weeks at oxford salvation army cause they are too much money, which is enough time for thieves to steal. I really enjoyed salvation army until the prices doubled what the other salvation armies charge. Salvation army might want to make their prices competitive otherwise no one will buy your merchandise and after months of sitting on the rack they will likely be stolen.

Its the weirdest thing: inside to buy everythings nice and all the ladies inside are nice but dropping off!!! WHOA! Theres an Hispanic looking man, about 45 working there and hes THE BIGGEST A-HOLE I have personally ever met. He literally made it glaringly obvious that I was putting him out the entire time. He criticized EVERYTHING I dropped off and complained that I had "too much stuff" ...hang on...the Goodwill is right down the street buddy...I guess I could DONATE my stuff to them next time?? If it werent for the fact that I KNOW he doesnt represent the Salvation Army as an organization I would have packed my stuff up and went down the street to the Goodwill. When I wanted to keep my plastic bins that I had my books in he actually said "youre just making more work for me"....well good to know thats my purpose in life - to SAVE YOU WORK! AHOLE! This guy acted like hed rather be taking a nap, no joke. He was RUDE and obnoxious the entire time and even MOCKED ME for wanting a receipt!!! He should NOT have a job but when I went inside to complain, the ladies inside were SO NICE I lost all my gumption to complain to them about senior ahole. >:(

What is going on? 18.99 for a pair of jeans? 14.99 for another? Myself and many others have shopped at these stores for one reason. We cant afford new. I believe greed has taken over? These resale stores sell items that have all been donated for a cause. Profits are donated to help the needy??? I think? But also so the needy can clothe their familys and selves. Many whom can not afford new. I used to speak highly of salvation army, not anymore. The 5 for $5 is all thats affordable for used clothing if you work real hard and spend half your day going through everything. Keep in mind what doesnt sell goes into the trash. Thats what Ive been told by people who do community service work at the store? Ashamed of salvation army stores today. Back to Kmart where sale prices are the same and new.

Rude employees. Way over priced. Newsflash...this is used items, not new. The items are donated, for free, to charge almost new prices is greedy. This is a religious based organization, you would think greed and a bad attitude would be non existent. Goodwill is far better. Employees are kind and helpful and their prices are much more reasonable. Salvation army needs to come back to reality and remember the purpose of resale. Its not about top dollar, its about the less fortuante...which includes the customers! We wouldnt shop there if we could afford to shop at Nordstrom!

I have shopped at Salvation army for years, and more recently I am in shock over the prices. I went to the salvation army in Rochester and found WAY better deals! I wish I could afford to buy new but I cant. Wish I didnt have to drive all the way out to Rochester to get a good deal! I realize that proceeds are for charity, but you are really charging too much. The racks are so full you can hardly move the clothes to look, and then the shirts are 8.99?? Management, please reconsider the pricing! The workers have always been very nice and helpful.

Very Rude Employees! Extremely blunt on what they will take for donations, and what you can keep. I understand that every organization has rules and policies for donations, but you dont have to be Jerks! They will have no issue on cherry picking all of your "good" donations and telling you to go take all of your other undesirable donations away. They dont act like a global charity organization. Prepare to be hassled, on every trip.

For a SalVal, the prices are way too high. And the fact that Oxford has two large trailer parks - one right next door - introduces a lot of low-quality crap. The only good deals here are the 5 for $5 or half-price holiday sales. The Rochester and Romeo locations are much better.

Used to be okay, but now they think they are a boutique. $20 for scrunched up faded NYDJ. $18 for tattered Levis I can get new at Kohls for not much more. Slow checkout. Selections getting worse by the visit. Dont waste your gas. Auburn Hills or Rochester much better.

Very disappointed in the quality of clothes and store appearance. Manager walking in and out with a cigarette lit smoking bring items in from outside. The sign said open til 10 pm and doors were locked at 8:56. She said they changed hours in February.

Overly priced used stuff and their 5 for $5 is Very Misleading. It is painted on the windows out front but its only good at a certain time. Also, when I dropped off donations, the workers acted rude and "put-out". Heading elsewhere next time.

Massive selection in clothing for all ages. Much better than any Ive been to in Ohio. Prices are a bit high on name brand clothing, about double compared in normal brands not sure why since they are all donated clothing .

Big Store, good inventory. Average cleanliness. (Its a second hand store, about what youd expect) - Lots of parking. Easy access, right on the main highway, M24. Friendly and helpful staff.

Huge store, lots of books, DVDs, often find good furniture. The only dislike I have is that they dont sort the clothing by size, so it takes forever to find things that will fit you.

Terrible selection. I came in here twice in two weeks and everything was the same, rude workers especially that guy with the glasses, also to much corny Christian music playing

The employees are not very nice and I believe everything here is overpriced. I only go when they are having sales or I cant find what I need at the Goodwill.
