Not only is NB Feed & Supply a fun place to visit...lots of neat pets and great gifts...but they really know their products. The customer service is first class. About 2000 I bought some land and needed a chainsaw, and I decided to forgo the big chain stores and buy local. I didnt know anything about them, and had heard that Stihl was a good brand. Id been to NB Feed before, and knew they carried chain saws. As a woman, I felt I needed a little more information and hand-holding with my purchase, and I found the salesperson to be knowledgeable and not condescending at all. Buying a chainsaw was a little intimidating, but he took me outside, showed me how to safely operate it...I admit I had to go back a couple of times for help, but each time I felt like my questions were not silly at all, and soon I was using my new Stihl chainsaw with confidence. I really like the Stihl...its easy to start, and has held up very well. Today, 9 years later, I needed a spark plug. I tried to call Stihl, but they do their customer service via e-mail...I need the spark plug tonight. I called NB Feed & Supply, and the gentleman on the phone told me exactly what I needed. I dont live in New Braunfels anymore, but when I visit, I always make a point to see whats new in this great store. They put a Tractor Supply next door, but they cant compete with the outstanding customer service and really cool selection. (I love playing with the bunnies...and they also carry Stannard wind chimes and unique gifts) I dont even have any livestock...so why do I go to NBFS? Because theres always something new and cool, and the people are great. Check it out! I recommend it highly.

I am a regular customer and love the staff and truly believe they have great hearts. However; for a feed store to house baby chicks and little parakeets in sanitary conditions is wonderful. But what about their pet parrots????? They have 4 parrots in that store that belong to the owners...their area is filthy. The cockatoo literally had bugs crawling all over its food. The other 3 look so lonely. There are dried up bird droppings that look like theyve been there a year or more. Never any stimulating toys; they have an arsenal of toys; food and all kinds of things at their finger tips to make life better for their pets that they claim to love so much. Can you not afford to clean their cages? Hang some fun toys for them to play with; give them something besides a perch to stare sadly out of the glass? Really?? Come on you guys; you can do better. Build an aviary; give them a life. Something besides a cramped glass room that is dirty. There is no excuse for how they are living and I know you are good people. Do the right thing for these birds or have a heart and let them live the remainder of their lives in a habitat for parrots. They deserve so much better. Please take care of them; it makes the shopping experience so sad to walk by and look at their dirty surroundings and lack of anything besides a bunch of junk to eat. Yes, Sunflower seeds are like French fries. Please Please Please give them better living conditions. Please.

The people are kind, and the stuff they sell is great. But Ive now bought 2 birds from them, the first was a parakeet that was so sick that we thought it was female, it eventually got better and we learned that it was male, I guess thats "fine". But earlier today I came in with my family to buy a cockatiel, the bird seemed fine and was semi friendly for a store bought bird. My issue is how aggressive the guy that got the tiel out of the cage was, he pushed it up against the wall of the cage hurting the bird fairly badly. The reason it hurt was because the tiel was missing the ends of multiple toes (with exposed wounds that bled later). So that bird was WAY too unhealthy to be morally sold. The bird is now tired after all that happened to it today. Weve stopped all the bleeding and it has been eating, so it will most likely be fine. Im taking it to my vet tomorrow for a checkup. But jesus christ. Its as if they have no idea how to treat birds properly. I also realize that the bird likely came with the wounds from whoever they initially got the bird from. But they really didnt do anything to assist the bird, and in fact probably made it worse re-opening the toe wound.

I bought feed from them last week, four bags of ProForce equine feed. I got all the way to Victoria to find out it was full of weevils and it was dated for MAY 2016, mind you it was the end of DECEMBER when I purchased the feed. I called and spoke to the manager about it and was very nice! When I got there the following week, he wasnt there and the lady that returned the feed was NOT concerned with the problems they had! This is crazy, if FOUR feed bags have weevils, there is more feed that has it as well!

Super place! The people are great!!! Had a problem with a weedeater I thought was going to be major. I went into the repair shop their, and the guy fixed my problem in like 3 minutes... I asked is I could atleast pay something, and he refused and said dont worry about it... They will get my business in the future for sure... He could have taken advantage of me easily, but did not!!! Business done right the old fashion way!!! Highly recommend!!!!
