They mistreat animals here!I took my pets here to get their hair cut and nails trimmed. On my schnauzer, they shaved him so close to the skin on some parts he is missing hair! They tried trimming the hair on his genitals and they snipped some skin because hen he came home there was blood it. He was very annoyed and very scared in the place and as soon as I went to pick him up he wouldnt stop crying. When I was looking at him a little later he had a good sized tick sucking blood from his back! My other little dog, a Japanese chin, got her nails cut way too short. She was bleeding all the way home and was very scared. Now whenever I bring my dogs here, they are absolutely terrified of being there. I have a very good suspicion they behind the closed doors, they mistreat the animals or else my dogs would be okay coming here. Its obvious the groomers here dont care about the animals and are only in it for the money. For the safety of your pets, take them elsewhere because this place should be shut down!

Its a mixed bag. Good store, helpful staff. Groomers did a great job on our old cat and used a kind of grinding device on the dogs nails instead of clippers (better for the dog and me!), but the dog was trimmed unevenly. Waiting for the vet on a weekend is a NIGHTMARE - long, long wait, no quiet place to wait, so if your animal is sick, its very stressful. The vet, on the other hand was SUPERB. Very kind, very caring, very thorough. Very professional. In another setting, I would go to him all the time! I took my dog in when she was in the end stage of kidney disease. Even the vet tech was kind. The clerk could care less, but the vet was great. Brought our other dog in, too, after that. I would trust him with any health concern - but the general setting is a zoo.

I feel so emberassed for bringing my step-dad to this store telling him it was great from my past experience until we met this old lady that was an employee in the fish section..she totally discouraged him of buying any fish. Even though we never had any problem with these fish in our tank. She refused to sell us any even if we wanted to take them she would comment that they will outgrow the tank/eat each other. Ive had these fish for many years. & never had that problem. Even if they were to "out grow" my tank, I will buy a bigger one no problem. Like geesh lady. Never going back here again. Hello Petco.

Sunday brought our 5 month puppy to get groomed. As we registered, a woman with glasses was cutting hair off a grey dog. She would pull its face hard and the woman worker had frustrated look on her face. I was going to request that our pup NOT be groomed by her but then I realized she may be the one in charge. We really needed help with our pup. Our pup had long hair and some tangles so it was gonna take work. I understand that. We left him and we were called back 10 minutes later that our pup was "freaking out" as woman worker put it. "He was scared and they could not groom it." We had to pick it up.

Only way to describe grooming would be horrible. First off I didnt realize that it takes 15 minutes just to take in my dog. Secondly when you tell me that you are going to call and tell me hes ready, do what you say you are going to do. Not calling me at 7:17 saying hes going to stay overnight and you are going to charge me extra. Poor customer service. And when I do go pick up my corgi the job they did on him was a complete joke. His brushing wasnt even close to a mediocre standard. Not going to waste my time here next time.

Please do not take your pet to get groomed here. They are so bad and don't care how they treat the dogs. My Maltese went in the for the puppy trim and clean and came out the same way she already was. Her ears stayed wet and ended up getting an ear infection which she still has. The shaved her clean from her privates to her chest!! I love the store to shop but never again in my life will I take my tiny Olive to the rough hands of those ogre women !!!

.My family member went to take her small dog their to get groomed a few months ago and she told them that she wanted her dog to look like the one in the most recent commercial that came out on tv and the girl looked at her like what,so she called another gommer to come and he didnt know either.That just proves that they do not watch their own commercials about where they work.Their prices are too high and you dont get what you ask for.

Although i love shopping at this petsmart, the grooming center is terrible! I used to take my poodle there, but they constantly razor burned my dog on her face. No matter how many times i told them to use scissors to trim her face, they always used a razor. For their high prices, and poor grooming, dont take your dog to be groomed here. Otherwise, it has always been a very clean store, with nice helpful staff!

The grooming center does a good job trimming and cutting my chihuahuas nails and cleaning her ears. Theyre the only ones I trust not to make my baby bleed. My vet cut my dogs nails and returned her to me bleeding and traumatized. Im so glad I went to Petsmart. I do not like the vet, they have everything overpriced and I hate how they dont let me see how they treat my chihuahua when they cut her nails.

My dog went to go cut her hair and trim her nails and ive went to cut her hair here before and they told me that i could just walk in and there was this guy who kept yelling and saying to leave because he was busy or something. I shouldnt have left him there because my dog came home with two cuts. GET BETTER AND POLITE GROOMERS!!

Regarding the pet salon: I used to take my GSD there for baths until one day one of the young ladys got mad at my dog (he was excited to see me) and pulled his leash up high so she could choke him....I can only imagine what they do to our pets when no one is watching. I now go to a locally owned salon in Edinburg.

Ive always had pleasant experiences at this location. They have a larger selection of everything compared to the PetSmart in South McAllen. I enjoy shopping at this PetSmart,but use the veterinary services at the Sout McAllen location.

My little Yorkie came back with a tick!! The guy that was checking her in didnt even know what he was doing. Its the 2nd time I take her there and the LAST! And when I pick her up shes always so scared !
