I was on the Home Depot website and saw a lawn mower that I wanted to buy. The specific unit was not my local store, so I placed the order on the webpage and set it up for an in store pickup at my local store. The mower costs 250$ + change. I get the notification that the mower is ready to pickup, so I picked it up on Saturday 14th of April. The outside of the box had some oil stains on it, but I assumed (stupidly) that the oil was from something dripping onto the box and not actually coming from within the box. When I take the box home and open it up, the quart of engine oil that comes with the mower was exploded in the box and coats every piece of the lawn mower, manuals, paperwork and the box itself. I realize that the quart bottle ruptured and the zip lock bag that the bottle comes in was broken up as well. Every single part of the lawn mower and its components that I can see is covered in engine oil. I box the lawn mower back up and take it back to the Home Depot where I picked it up. The reaction I get from the guy at the returns counter is amusing indifference. When I open the box, he does not know what is wrong or why I am returning the lawn mower. Even after I tell him, he has to get 2-3 other Home Depot employees to look at the lawn mower covered in oil. I eventually get handed off to a women with a "trainer" tag on her apron and I think that because she is a trainer I will get taken care of. Wrong! She makes no attempt to right the situation. This is the extent of my conversation with her. "I have ordered a replacement", "when will it be here?" "I dont know." "Give me a refund." That is it. She makes no attempt to fix the situation or apologize to me for Home Depot wasting 3 hours of my Saturday. She does not make any attempt to save the deal. My 250$ means nothing to her. After I left Home Depot, I bought a lawn mower from Wal-Mart. This is what I think happened. The lawn mower was sitting around their warehouse or various stores. It becomes damaged and leaks oil through the box and onto the floor. The Home Depot employees look at it, and know that it is leaking oil. Instead of doing the right thing, by cleaning up the oil on their floor and pulling the box from their inventory and looking at it to see what is wrong. The ship it out to the next customer that orders and dumps the problem on the customer. Why should they clean anything up and take responsibility for a damaged mower? When they can just send it to the customer, who will then have to do the return and waste their time fixing their mistake and clean up their oil spill. I have recently moved into the area at the beginning of 2017. I have been to my local Home Depot store every single weekend since I have moved here. But after this, I wont be so quick to go to Home Depot. I will have to consider their business practices and decide if the risk of them wasting my time by knowingly selling me a defective product is worth it.

Will never go to this location again! They had none of the paint, wood or carpet samples that were available at other home depots. But what did it for us was the staff. Those were some of the rudest people we have ever encountered. Dont know what happened in their lives to be so angry with the world. Every employee we came across did not want to help us and tried to pass us on. One lady in particular in the cabinet and counter department. An older European lady. She pretended to have a phone call so she didnt have to help us. Then when she did, she claimed that she didnt know what countertop restoration was and said that replacing the whole thing was the only option. She was so rude, spoke to us as if we interrupted her whole day. When we asked to speak with her manager, she said no.

I have visited this location a few times as Ive been doing some upgrades in my home and love it. EVERYTIME I stop by I can find an associate in almost every aisle and all asking me if I need help before I could get the words out of my mouth. I was offered to have anything I needed that wasnt in stock either shipped to the store or informed what other location may have the part. After visiting the other locations near by to get the parts I needed I really appreciated the fact that everyone at this store was friendly and smiling as I was either stared down in a rude way by the associates and not assisted or just outright ignored at other locations. If you need help and arent 100% sure where to find something or what all you will need this is the place to go to.

If I could do less than a half of a star I would, very bad service employees walking around ignoring customers. Whats the point of taking a job and you are not a people person, nobody could give me straight answer where I could find the proper battery for a outdoor lighting they would say this not my department and walk away. If a kid in a grocery store can tell me where the loaf of bread at, any knuckle head at home depot can tell me where a battery at. SAD TO SAY I WALK OUT AND WENT TO LOWES WHERE THEY HELPED ME IN WHAT I NEED AND WAS OUT IN A FEW MINUTES AND HAD A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE. Thank you HOME DEPOT for sending me to LOWES to get what I need.

I visited the store because the store close to my house was out of fence post. The store said that they dont break bundles of 37 posts and said if I wanted to buy 25 I had to buy 37 and that I should take the rest back to the store by my house and return them. The manager, Brian, complained that they would have to move a lot of things out of the way in order to get to those posts in an attempt to make me feel as if I was putting him out. I had to use my gas money to transport their items to the other store location that needed them. This store has no idea what customer service means. The manager only thought of himself and not the customer.

Everytime I go I have a good experience, customer service are what they are supposed to be and even workers in the isles are helpful. They have what I need I just wish I could be approved for their card. Im working towards that one. I have had some plants die after planting and they will give you a refund for that. They do tend to water their plants at the wrong time of the day that makes them die and too much water also. Evening watering only home depot. Not in the sun light. Rain has nutrients and water from faucet has poisons. So very little watering from hoses. Thanks home depot for great shopping exsperinces!
