This past weekend my husband and I went to the Petco in Kernersville where we spoke to the grooming department. We were hoping to get our Furbaby in the following week. We explained our needs and concerns as our Furbaby CoJack has some issues with things in his face that make noises like blow dryers and clippers. We were told they would work with him on these things. They would not force him as that would get dangerous for our Furbaby and for them but they could take their time with him to ensure he was good. We set an appointment for CoJack at 1:00 on Monday for $42.00. My husband took CoJack to Petco on Monday when he arrived CoJack was not happy to be there but was not ugly or acting out. Petco groomers told my Husband CoJack would be fine but if something came up they would call us. My husband asked how long we should expect CoJack to be here? He was told by the groomers that CoJack would be there 4 to 5 hours...... My husband left Petco and waited outside in the car just in case. By 1:45 no call came so he went on with his work day. At 2:30 my husband received a call saying the Petco groomer could not continue to work with CoJack. He was rolling and not sitting still for them. CoJack would not allow the groomer near his face with the clippers. They offered for us to pick CoJack back up at 5 when I got off work. We did so. Approximately 530, my husband and I arrived at the groomers station. There was one groomer on staff (the one who schedule our appointment) at this time so while she was grooming another dog, paged another Petco staff member; she explained what happend with CoJack and the earlier groomer. CoJack was trying to play, rolling around, would not sit still and would not allow them to use the clippers near his face. Therefore they could not continue as it was a safety hazard......the groomer on duty continued to provide recommendations, like getting a private groomer that could take their time with CoJack as they, Petco Groomers, do not have time as they have one dog after another and they are just busy...... Finally a sales associate came to the grooming station which allowed for the groomer to get our CoJack. Once I got CoJack I could tell he was ready to go home, scared and had been upset. I asked what had been completed and was told with the bill in hand of the groomer a bath $30.00 with flee and tick shampoo $7.00 as the groomer said they found a couple flees on CoJack and all mats had been brushed/cut out $7.00. For a total of $44.00 and the front would take care of us. I had a few more questions about the flee thing as we have not seen any flees nor has CoJack acted like he was being bit by anything. All this groomer could tell us was they found a couple of flees.... We checked out and went home. Once home we found that not all mats had been combed out; he has one huge one behind his left ear and several in his legs. They had also shaved CoJacks belly, butt area and his inner leg area. Now I know my Furbaby and I am sure he was not happy about having all this done but we were told they would work with him and take their time with him. I do not nor does my husband believe that happend. Petco groomers just want to do one dog after the other. Plus they want your dog to sit still and not move. As the Groomer on duty said "they just do not have time". Side note: my CoJack is a 5 lbs Multipoo..... We have decided that we will not be using Petco grooming nor will we recommend them to anyone and if asked we will share our story. We will continue to purchase food and CoJacks toys from the store portion at least until we find a better place.

I love the reviews that do not give the opportunity for a rebutted but.......here goes for 2: To the lady CoJack, or whatever the name, by your very detailed and descriptive rank, my first thought is you are one of these "helicopter parents" where your dog does not wrong and does not know how to keep your dog in control. As for their being busy.......well guess what........that means they are popular and must be doing something right. If your dog is not cooperative, rolling over, which can hide mats or sitting, which can hide mats a service was still rendered even though the dog was uncooperative. As for the lady with the "meet and greet" issues, YES, you can schedule an appt after the meeting as they had stated. It seems as though you took it on assumption that you could just go ahead and schedule your dog to get groomed right then. They have a business to run and have clients scheduling times to come in much like you did for the meet and greet. Like the other poster, this does not fall on Petco but, you. For anyone wondering why I am posting this: I am sick and tired of what our Society has become. When something doesnt go exactly 100% our way, we get butt hurt and decide we will excise a little justice by making a bad review. Take ownership and accept your culpability on the matter. You arent the Pope or Mother Teresa so yes, you did have some doing in this matter. Petco has always served me and my pets well. Have they been 100%? No. However, I understand they are a business and they have more customers than just me and my little snowflake. This is a good company and these two posts crossed me wrong today and I find cowardly for someone to make a post where there is no form of recourse to discuss or offer feedback.

I am absolutely furious with this store! After talking on the phone to the lady in the groomers area, she told me my dog could do a meet and greet and then we could schedule an appointment for her to be groomed afterwards. We drove the 30 minutes there in the 95 degree weather with no air conditioner in the car, to get there and have her tell us we cannot schedule an appointment for after the meet and greet. She stated that over the phone she told me no, they couldnt. When I very clearly heard you say "YES, AFTER THE MEET AND GREET YOU CAN SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT." If she would of stated no, I simply would of went somewhere else for my dog to be groomed. She needs to learn the policies that go hand in hand with that store she can get it correct the first time! So now after my wasted gas and time, and the rude lady who works in the groomers department flat out lying, and Im absolutely furious and will NEVER shop at this store EVER again!

Have seen many bad reviews for this store and now know why. Bought Betta tanks for our kids and they were missing parts. When we returned (without the receipt) they just said we probably bought it from Walmart and were trying to return it there. Not interested in helping at all. It is not the $1.99 worth of products that are important but the lack of service and interest in the customer. They also said that a new shipment of Bettas would come in that week and two weeks later they still have none.Very poor management that $1.99 is worth loosing hundreds of dollars that I will spend elsewhere.
