I normally do not write negative reviews - I am generally easy to please and a friendly person. However, my experience at this pet store this morning was fairly unpleasant and surprising so I figured best to let others know. Sorry for the very long read. I looked online for a store that would sell a particular dog food brand and their website said Purple Poodle was a seller of their food. After finding the store (not easy, its in a shopping plaza with doctors offices so you cant tell from the street there is a retail store along side the medical offices) I walked in to find nobody at the counter. In short order, a nice woman came out from the back room and asked what I needed. I told her about the food I was looking for and she sadly informed me they didnt carry it. I was asking if there was a comparable food that she knew of that I could purchase and she didnt seem very knowledgeable and said she didnt know but she would ask "him" in the back if he would come out and talk to me, that maybe they could order the exact food I wanted. "Him" came out, already looking aggravated to be disturbed and asked what I needed. I explained the situation, that the lady that was helping me said he might be able to recommend a different food or special order the food I needed. He was asking why I needed the particular food and as I answered "my dog has stomach problems, she vomits quite often" he immediately jumped in with how I should feed her an all raw diet. I declined, as I have thought about a raw diet already and after researching online and then discussing it with my vet we decided it wouldnt be good for my dog. I didnt want to take *any* chances exposing her to parasites/salmonella/harmful bacteria since shes so incredibly sensitive already. The shopkeeper proceeded to then tell me that "Vets know nothing" and that a raw diet is the best thing for dogs. He went on to rant - "Vets dont study nutrition, Vets schooling is funded by Science Diet and Royal Canin, the worst foods you can give your dog" I felt berated he was very antagonistic and speaking to me like i was an idiot for even considering listening to my Vet. You know, the person (unlike HIM or me!) that went to school for years to learn how to care for my pet. After I still declined to feed my dog an all raw diet, I STILL tried to be friendly and diffuse the situation by making some small talk about how long the store had been there and if he ever had a hard time with getting foot traffic in with the way the place was kind of hidden. I even tried to still spend my money there by asking him if he knew of any other foods that might be comparable to the one I was looking for!! He blew me off and then the phone rang. He said, "So need anything else?" in an obvious attempt to get rid of me. Apparently I dont need anything else, not at your store. Thanks for nothing, Purple Poodle! You are a very strange store. TL;DR Dont shop here. The (shop owner?) is terrible at customer service.

I boarded my dog here for 4 nights and they charged me for a mandatory bath. Well, shouldnt that be included seeing as you charged me per night and she is being cooped up in a kennel until the staff walk her? I got my pet and the dog food bag was still full and my dog looked very, very thin. I understand that my dog was out of her environment so shed be a little skinny. I dont like that the bag came back with the same amount I left for her, though. Did they not see that she didnt eat for almost 4 days? My biggest concern was that my dog came home with scrapes that they told me 1) they hadnt noticed and 2) she mustve gotten from "running in the bushes".. Ooookay. I cleaned the scrapes, applied antibacterial ointment, but a few days later the scrapes became irritated. I took my dog to the vet and they gave her a treatment. To the management: If you run a kennel, you need to tell the owner that the pet got hurt/didnt eat/etc. Give us a status report at time of pick-up because it affects the dogs health! Bottom line: I will not use this place again and I dont recommend them.

I boarded my dog, Molly, there over the week end, from Friday till Tuesday, I wanted to pick her up Monday, but since it was a holiday, they wouldnt allow it, and charged an extra day. You would think that since they had to go and walk the dogs, they could give people a window to come and get them... Nope. Instead my 45 lbs. dog had to sit in a kennel all day and be walked only once. As part of their boarding fee, they charged for a bath, and this included any bath needed before leaving if they were soiled. When I got her home, she smelled terrible, and upon bathing her I found diarrhea stuck under her tail. When I called, I heard them saying that she was only bathed Monday after being in her kennel all day, and just tell me it was an over site... They had nothing to say about Molly being sick, or the fact that she ate less than half of her food. I would never recommend them, they have some cheap supplies in their store, but that is it. Ive never felt worse about leaving my dog.

I just had my 1st experience with Purple Poodle. I brought in my 2 Labs and was advised I would be called upon completion of Bath, shave ,nail trim ear cleaning. I was advised at 5pm they were both ready and to be there before closing at 5:30pm. I had never even inquired about the price because my day was so hectic. When I came to pick up Benji & Buster they looked fantastic, happy and I was pleasantly surprised with a price that was lower than I had been paying at the larger guys places and Purple Poodles quality of work is far superior. I am always given an excuse for Benjis nails at the other places. Purple Poodle actually trimmed Benjis nails. That alone I give them credit! I live 15-20 minutes away from them and there are closer places but I must say I have just found my new groomer. For squeezing 2 Labs in today and taking such good care I gave a $30 gratuity in addition to their charge.

Howdee Folks! I did a behind the scenes survey of Purple Poodle because I am a Pet Photography and also official photographer at Dog Show events. I asked everyone how they liked Purple Poodle when I was doing an event there - I got great reports from several people at least ten. I have been to other places and it has not been the same, usually its mixed but not here - You would be amazed at the care and way the dogs look after grooming. I know I take their photos. One person I know came all the way from Pembroke Pines just to use Purple Poodle.

I went to Purple Poodle when I moved here and it was terrible. Not only were they rude and unfriendly but they shaved my dog down to nothing without even a phone call. He looked soooo bad. They used the excuse of him being matted. He may have had a few but not enough to shave him. No groomer since has done that and he has been much more matted than they claimed he was! I call it lazy! On top of it they were rude and didnt seem to even enjoy their job. I would NEVER leave my pet with them again!!!! I have told everyone I know not to go here!
