I have to share the awful grooming experience at the Blaine MN location. My Shih tzu is 14 years old and has been groomed every ten weeks since she was a puppy so grooming is nothing new to us! I was trying to find a groomer close to home and chose this location. As I always do, I made sure to take her outside to relieve herself (which she did) so the groomers dont have to deal with that. Our first time here and Kristiana was the groomer. We had an 8 am appt. At 9:28 Kristiana called to say our dog was ready for pick-up. I was surprised at how quickly she was done. We went immediately to pick her up and the groomer (Kristiana) informed us that our dog was so stressed she was choking herself the entire time (on the noose collar on the table) and had diarrhea in the kennel afterwards. Next she told us something about Petco being very strict about "dogs like this" and we would not be able to have her groomed at Petco again. She was in Kristianas words "too geriatric". As I stated my dog is VERY accustomed to grooming and while she may get nervous her nerves have always been calmed by compassionate loving groomers who understand and make her comfortable. In 14 years we have NEVER heard a negative response to our dogs behavior, in fact always have been told what a sweetie she is. By the way, my dog did NOT have diarrhea before her appt and NO sign of it after her appt so the likelihood she had it during her 1-1/2 hour grooming appt is ridiculous. Also, how does a groomer finish a complete groom in 1- 1/2 hours with a dog whose behavior is so bad she isnt allowed back. Lastly it is incredibly poor business practice both morally and ethically to not call a dogs owner if the dog is as stressed as Kristiana suggested. The idea my dog is not allowed back is laughable...I would NEVER allow her to go back to Petco. We will be going back to Petsmart in Roseville where they have always treated my dogs with care and compassion.

Took my dog in for a groom on 2/4/17. I was told the groomer would contact the petco in Riverdale to get info on how to groom my dog and the shampoo to use since he has sensitive skin and the groomer at Riverdale was great ( Krystal who is no longer with petco ) When I got my dog home he would not stop scratching! The Manager at petco told me to bring him back for an oatmeal bath at no charge and that should take care of his itch! It only got worse. I took him to his vet and she prescribed Diphenhydramine and said if he still is scratching in 3 to 4 days we would have to try something else,still no better so now on Synotic Solution and going back for a recheck on 3/31/17. Over $200 in vet bills so far! I guess the groomer never took the time to follow the instructions from the Riverdale location since I never had a problem when I took him there. Very Unhappy :(

Worst experience with a groomer. Asked for a traditional Schnauzer cut. My dog was given a buzz cut. The groomer(Kristiana)claimed he was too matted. Seems to me as though this Kristiana is just a very lazy employee. Pretty sure she was mentioned in a previous review. Thank you for reading and I hope you will think twice before bringing your dogs to this location for grooming.

Horrible customer service !! I have never gone into a petco and felt so unwelcomed !! They need a lot of help all I got was attitude from the cashier and no help while waiting over 20 mins to get crickets! As well as being ignored when you try and ask the front counter for help! Not okay I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN HERE AGAIN!
