Parking is a pain, get over it, its the entire west end district that sucks, not just this particular store. I came in to this location for the first time to get my mixed breed a bath and brush. After I dropped him off in the salon and wandered the store, I ran into an employee that offered ideas for my dogs picky eating habits that didnt result in me making any major diet changes or unnecessary purchases. Awesome. I was quoted for pick up at 7 but received a call from the groomer saying that my dog didnt care for the blow drier (which I knew previous to) and they wanted to make sure he air dried for an appropriate amount of time. When I told him it wasnt a big deal and I could get him anyway, he insisted I waited so he could give him the thorough brushing that was in the package I purchased. So I got some beers and apps at Coopers while I waited instead. When I picked up my dog, he looked and smelled better than he ever did after any other grooming session. Its not the closest location to me, but the helpful and friendly staff with the competitive grooming prices will keep me going back.

Worst retail experience ever. Bought online, arrived damaged (packaging damaged by boxcutters, so it was not UPS fault). I was told they dont do returns online, and to return it to the store. I go to the Maple Grove store, and the manager refuses my return because it is "a lot of money". Then he gives me the thousand yard stare like the mouth breathing buffoon he is. Gee buddy, do you think I might be aware it is a lot of money? After all, IT IS MY MONEY! He didnt care. So I went to St Louis park, and the guy had called ahead to tell them to not allow the return. He actually took time away from his routine of licking 9V batteries and auto-erotic asphyxiation in the back room to call around town warning other "managers" of the various petsmarts that I might be coming and how to screw me over. And the lady manager at St. Louis Park was happy as a clam to send me away without my money. Never in my life have I had worse treatment. Took me all afternoon on a Friday at multiple stores and HOURS on the phone to get a return label.

Customer service in the reptile department is deplorable. Getting the employee to even acknowledge me when I was standing in front of her was like pulling teeth. Her responses were reluctant, as was her willingness to follow me and look at what I was asking about. She refused to leave her little station, or look anything up on her little handheld computer. She was extremely rude even when offering to make a phone call to another store for me. Before she could even find the number to make the call, another employee came up to her and asked if she was free to chat. She said yes, even though she was supposed to be helping me, and gave up looking for the phone number. I finally said, "You know what? Forget it. Ill look it up on my own," and walked away. No apology or acknowledgment. I have a new snake and would have spent lots of money here over the next twenty years, because this store is literally 60 seconds away from my house, but Ill go somewhere else now, just to avoid dealing with this. Pet Smart Grooming-St Louis Park West End A 1 star rating is more than this place deserves. We took our 8 month shih-tzu/ Maltese mix in for grooming & a hair cut. I requested a "Teddy Bear cut w/ rounded feet. He had some pretty long hair and some "matting" going on but no worse than our previous dog that I took here for grooming. Upon pick up, I was told that he needed to be shaved VERY short due to the matting. (which we were charged Xtra for I paid about $45 1 year ago also a small breed with similar hair & matting) I was also told his ears were "so bad" they were afraid mess with them, so they didnt clean, trim or pluck them at all! I,m not even sure that they shampooed him because he didnt smell nice like my last dog did when done being groomed.Why I paid $60+ for a cut style I did not want, & I had to (google how to ) clean & pluck his ears is beyond me! Staff has too little experience. I would NOT recommend taking your dog there !! At least his hair will eventually grow back....

I booked an appointment with the groomers after having a conversation of what kind of service I wanted for my puppy. The appointment was booked for 12:30. At 10:50 I got a call from Pet Smart, saying that I was late for my scheduled 10:30 appointment. I told the groomer that my appointment was made for 12:30, not 10:30. She said that I would have to re-schedule for another day, even though I said I could be there in 20 minutes. Well, I didnt have another day and asked to speak with the manager. The manager said that in their book I was scheduled for 10:30, and in the computer I was scheduled for 12:00. both were not correct.They were unable to groom my dog at all that day & I would have to re-book for another day. It was 11:00. They screwed up my appointment, and should have fit me in to the schedule that day. Their mistake. Obviously a poorly run and poorly managed location.

Avoid this store and DO NOT BUY PRO PLAN Dog Food at this store. I bought Pro Plan Savory soft/wet dog food and it was maggot infested. It made my dog very ill over several weeks before it was discovered. And when we went to this store management acted like the issue was irritating and a big inconvenience for them. Not even a "were really sorry this made your pet ill," instead an extrememly unprofessional service response as if an irritant. And no concern whatsover that they may be selling additional maggot infested product to other buyers and making other pets sick. This is among the worst examples of client focus, response Ive ever seen and Im a career client service person. Im in touch with Purina Corporation who, of course, is concerned and looking to act. However, this PetSmart store should be avoided at all costs, there will be further issues here for sure.

Last time I shop at St. Louis park Petsmart.. we were at banfield getting routine vaccines for our dog. On our way out of the store I noticed some pee in front of us so I told one of the workers there and he started accusing me of miska peeing. And asked me to pick it up. We hadnt even walked in that part of the store. I told him it wasnt her and he continued to press me "well were you watching her the whole time" "how do you know it wasnt her" "well if you dont mind will you just pick it up" at this point another worker came over and said "could you just pick it up theres a cleaning station over there". So I picked it up (it has already started to dry as it had been there for so long and was obviously not my dogs fault) and then walked out. Absolutely ridiculous and extremely poor customer service. Very dissapointed.
