After reading the other reviews Im curious if these people are referring to the same pet store that is listed. Dennis, Lisa and their crew are ALWAYS helpful and Dennis is constantly asking about the snakes he has sold me. Checking their well-being as well how Im doing with the animal. One reviewer said that the snakes were kept in shallow unheated food containers. It was apparent that the reviewers understanding of high quantity professional reptile husbandry is at best askew. Dennis uses heat tape to regulate the heat for the massive collection he keeps in racks. The heat tape is behind the container out of sight. The snakes that are kept in shallow containers arent arboreal, meaning they spend their time hunting and hiding on ground rather than in the trees. Furthermore, those that are arboreal are kept in appropriate cages. Its hard to put stock into a review when its littered with improper spellings and grammar. I tend believe that that person is just being an ass for the fun of it....or theyre as dumb as their review. Pet Den on Nederland Ave IS best pet and pet supply store in Southeast Texas. If youre worried about animal abuse and neglect then never step foot in a Petco or Petsmart again. You can pull up videos on youtube to confirm this. The next time you find yourself in Pet Den, ask Dennis for a tour. Hell be thrilled to show you all the "behind-the-scenes" stuff simply because theres nothing to hide. Support local business. Some of the staff is very rude and condescending and they will talk to you like youre an idiot and know nothing about pets. But that isnt the worst part. The animals are housed inappropriately (in glass cages on cedar bedding) so they are often sick from upper respiratory infections and Im sure that shoving 100+ mice in a 20 gallon doesnt help the situation any either. They are also not socialized because they dont care about them as pets, only snake food, and the few that are lucky enough (or not so lucky depending on how you look at it) to NOT be sold as snake food are sold to families with little kids on a whim who will probably end up neglecting or accidentally killing the poor things. The snakes are also kept incorrectly... and on HEAT ROCKS which can cause serious burns. Dont support the cruelty that goes on by shopping here. Give your money to a chain store that must adhere to strict company policies and guidelines, not a greedy little store that wants to do whatever it wants for money.

All Im saying some of the snakes r keeper in plastic Food boxs that have very limited Hith with out heating Fish tanks r dirty , Fisk r under fead , and look sick (some have missing eyes) Fish also dent have individual tag or any tags on the tank about the fish Just rote the names of the Fisk on the tank Mic , rats , and Guineas r keep fine but the peppy that let buy them r people that feeds them to reptiles and big fish or people with little kids that and are Not ready for the or real know how to take care of the same thing with the fish birds and reptiles The bird were in to small of cages to me The people working ther art very social people to me but were to some other people that I think been ther alot And thay dont seem to have as muck Knowledge Int the fish as some people in pet smart So ther ok I gess

Love how to the animal cruelty tree huggers come out on a review. If you dont like the place go somewhere else. The family that runs the place knows what they are doing. They have been doing it a while. They are really nice and extremely helpful. I have never been in there when they werent friendly and helpful. The tanks are clean unlike so reviews. However they do not have led light hoods on the tanks so they are not well lit. In turn it is not as lit up as say major pet stores and thats what some are used to and think the tank is dirty. Look at your major pet store. That is filth!!!!! Will never buy another fish anywhere but here.

Could not have had a better experience at a pet store. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Owners are amazing. Walked in needing bedding and ended up acquiring 5 new pets. Spent over an hour talking, visiting, and expanding our family.

My wife and I always come here to buy our pet stuff. The staff is very attentive. They always offer to take out one of the snakes, so my sons can see and touch. Also, they always seem to have some type of special.

Wolfy, PetDen has really redone a lot of their store and it is very neat and clean and the staff is very helpful. i believe they went through a remodel. PetDen is a good place to go.
