Went in for a oil change and simple throttle adjustment on my Yamaha Majesty scooter. I was quoted $90 for the oil change and TBD for the adjustment, two days max. Four days later I get a call and the quote is nearly $400. Well, it turns out my scooter supposedly had a nail in the tire, so lets have $200 more for that. My scooter uses very uncommon tires but they "just happened to have one for it". Of course, when I left the scooter it was fine, so how it got a "nail" in the tire was very suspicious to me. They also wanted the $100 for the oil change (its $90 plus "miscellaneous") and some $75 just to tell me the idle on my scooter was fine, no work needed. Naturally, as any customer who comes in expecting to pay $100-$150 on a simple repair and gets handed such a high bill, I was upset at the whole thing. Their response was, in a nutshell, "oh well". A few days later some guy from their customer service department called me repeatedly on my cell phone, asking me to rate the transaction. It sounded like the same guy who said "oh well" when I complained. I didnt want to talk to them, but since they kept calling my cell phone, I finally answered and I told him how disappointed I was. He said he would send me a 15% discount coupon because they wanted to keep me as a customer. Of course, nothing ever arrived. So whats the takeaway here? Rivas service is extremely expensive and their service is the same as any other shop, which is to say "mediocre". Keep that in mind next time youre looking to buy a scooter to save gas. Whatever you save on gas youll probably pay in $100-dollar oil changes and $200 tires from Riva. Even though it takes more oil, a cars oil change costs about $25. Tires for a normal car can be had for as low as $50 whereas Riva will charge you $200-$300 per tire. Why does Riva charge so much more than any other mechanics? Its not because scooters and motorcycles are such complicated machines and they have super-duper technicians. Theyre actually very simple machines. Riva charges such exorbitant amounts simply because they can.

I recently took my MSF course there and was extremely suprised with how well the course went and all the staff in the showroom were extremely helpful. My PROBLEM came when I tried to purchase my first bike there. I was looking to purchase the new 2013 Kawasaki Ninja (as Im a new rider and its features are great). The second day I came in to look for it it was moved to the back behind a wall. When I asked their salesperson Mike about it he immediately tried to sell me a different bike the Honda 250 and I know why that is. Its OBSOLETE now. They have a bunch in stock and they are trying to get rid of them. I told him I wanted the Ninja and I wanted to walk out with it that day. After giving him my information he told me I dont have a good enough credit score to finance the Ninja. BS!!!!!!!! score is 736 with a down payment of $3,500 on a MSRP $4,799 bike.. Once again he pushed me towards the Honda 250, saying even with a cosigner my credit is not strong enough and financing Ninja was "not an option" blaming Kawasaki saying they couldnt finance me. When I asked how much it would be if I paid in full, he said "$6,300"!!!! What a crock of $%!T Im not dumb I know what they were trying to do (sell me an overstocked, obsolete bike) and extremely offended me in the process. I called to speak to a sales manager and they only directed my call back to Mike. After 4 days of trying I gave up. Nice showroom but do not buy from MIKE. Long story short I went down the street to Broward Motorsports walked out with my Ninja 300, my Kawasaki finance card, and some extra swag from the shop in the same day. Go look at bikes at Riva but if you are not knowledgeable, they will scam you. Wouldnt want to know what kind of nightmare lies in the Service department.

I wanted to let you all know how absolutely thrilled I am with my recent interactions and purchase at Riva Pompano. After 30 years, I decided it was time to get back on a motorcycle. In January, I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, got my license and started my search. I have to share with you that I personally visited four different Sarasota area dealers and explained my situation: getting back in cycling, just got my license, want a nice, barely used cruiser, gonna buy soon, will pay cash, heres my contact info... Would you believe that over a month later, not one dealership has called me back...NOT ONE! Thankfully in the meantime, I expanded my search and found an amazing 1013 Honda Interstate at Riva In Pompano. Pete responded quickly to my inquiry and was pleasant, helpful and through during our conversations - persistent, but not pushy. Sales manager Jay was attentive and fair when we got down to the nitty gritty. Chris was absolutely the kind of ambassador you want when he handled the delivery. And the bike...spectacular! Thanks for making this such an easy experience. After 30 years, I was a bit reluctant to make my first ride on the biggest bike Ive ever been on a three hour jaunt across the state. No problem - Riva delivers! My only regret is that I live across the state and cant say "thank you" in person. I am sure sometime soon, Ill take her for a spin and end up in your showroom. Pete, Jay and Chris, thanks guys for the experience, top notch all the way.

The team at Riva Motorsports is FANTASTIC!! I live in Pennsylvania and had been looking for a Cobalt 220S power boat for months. These guys had one...now I do!! I drove 2400 miles round trip for this boat and it was worth it!! The boat was better than expected, it has more equipment on it than listed and the price was more than $15K less than other comparable Cobalt 220s. Pete W. was my salesperson for the deal. Pete W. was my "eyes on the ground" he emailed me a ton of pics (including the disc brakes on the trailer from under the boat) and answered all my questions which helped me make my decision. The service guys were great too! They topped of fluids, greased the trailer bearings and checked the tire pressure and got me ready to head home. The paperwork was a breeze. I was out the door in less than 30 minutes. I was even greeted by the owner who knew I drove down from PA before he even met me. He thanked me for my business and told Pete W. to double check the tire pressure...which he did. Pete even threw in a cool Riva Motorsport shirt. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!

I went in to Riva Motorsports looking for a larger bike I knew how much I could spend depending on how fair they were on a trade on my bike. I talked with Chris first who had one of his Sale associates Zack show me what they had. I knew the bike I wanted would have to be built over time piece by piece. Zack showed me a Fully Loaded I mean fully loaded what else could you put on a big bike cruiser. it was a 2007 Suzuki C90T with every bell and whistle you could dream of. I saw the sticker and in my mind it was not going to happen since i wanted to trade my bike and pay the rest in cash . Between Zack and Chris working hard and being really fair on my trade I rolled out of their on my dream cruiser. Both of you are a real credit to your company. I would also like to thank Neil for handling the paper work and having me out and riding in less than a hour. Riva you did real good on those three associates. keep up the good Work. I am one very happy customer. Thank you
