If you are looking for inconsistency this is the place to go. I have been there five times and this last time I walked out before my dog had even been groomed. I have put up with service that was so-so at best because of the convenience, but the completely rude ladies who after five times of me bringing my dog in decided I need to be charged more. They said that my dog was “obviously” in the number 4 bracket and not the number 3. They did not change there price structure they said my dog was just in the wrong bracket before and I had gotten a “deal”. If it is so “obvious”, why was I put in that bracket and why did the last five people who checked me in keep it the same? Lack of customer service is why. If I was told ,hey you are in the wrong bracket we will honor it this time but next time we will need to change it, I would have been fine. But I was told sorry pay it now, and it is not our fault. The people were so rude that when the manager finally did say we will give you the price we charged you in the past I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog there. Stay away from Petco and shop locally. Customer service is dead at these large corporations and every time I walk in one the price is more. At least the local person will get to know you and you can feel good about spending your money there. Stay away from Petco in Richfield is my review.

We were shopping at Petco 66th and Lyndale in Richfield, when I noticed they had cats on display in a stack of wood laminate "cages." 2 medium-sized kitties were in a space of about 18x18x18. These cage spaces looked very poorly ventilated and only had little holes in heavy plastic fronts (so you could see the cats), a slat at the top of the sides, and no holes in the back of the cage stand, therefore leaving vitually no cross ventilation for the animals inside. These cats dont get out of the cages but once a day! I know this because I talked to the cashier about them. My feeling based on observation, is that these cats are neglected and starved for fresh air and free movement. As well as writing this review of Petcos treatment of cats for sale, I will plan to speak with the manager there and really raise hell!! I am telling all my friends to boycott Petco for the reason listed above. This is really irresponsible treatment of live animals - in plain sight! Ridiculous, and Infuriating!! Dont shop at Petco!

Adopted a kitten from the rescue that houses their cats here. We were helped by Ryan who told us everything we wanted to know about the products and was not pushy at all. It was very easy to adopt - few pages of paperwork with a couple signatures and a very good price. Went to go check out and a new employee was working register. Kelly, the manager, cut out our coupons and helped the employee learn how to put coupons into the computer. Kelly also put our kennel together and they sent us on our way. The team working there was awesome and I would definitely recommend this store. Thank you!

Went in the other day to get everything for my new dog which i am getting today. I guy stocking food noticed i my arm was in a cast, stopped what he was doing followed me around the store putting everything in my cart that i needed, personally checked me out and loaded everything in my car for me. It was a very pleasant surprise. You dont see customer service like that any more. After researching the prices are very high on most things but if i get services like that again today they will have earned my business for most things.

Horrible customer service. I waited for someone to help me get stuff to set up an aquarium for 15 minutes. Finally, the cashier paged the manager, and you could tell that he could care less about what his customers needed because he was rushing the process and did not even ask me specifically what I was trying to get. He also yelled back at the cashier and said, "I am busy right now, blah blah and I were in the middle of something." Nice job Mr. Manager, guess you sold me on NEVER coming back to your crappy store.

Pros -best place in Richfield by far to get anything for animals. The supply of animal food, toys ext.. is very nice. They have a dog grooming area and their employees are awesome, I feel comfortable leaving my dog to get groomed. I have a Rottweiler, they seemed to be ok right off the bat, I love a place that understands the large breeds that are often seen in a bad light but understand the you be nice Ill be nice attitude of breeds Cons - some of there toys cost a little more then I think they should,

I used to live in Richfield and so I started using them 10 years ago for cat grooming because they were the cheapest. Best decision I ever made. My cat, Persephone, loves Louise, the cat groomer who has been there forever. The rest of the staff dote on Persephone, as well. I have now moved to Minnetonka, and even though theres a closer Petco (although I dont know if they do cat grooming) I still make the 30 minute trek to Petco with Persephone for her "date" with Louise.

Nope. Never again. We went out of our way to take our dog here because first groomer was so nice and so helpful. Dogs nails were done POORLY and barely clipped and NO it was not because they were done to the quick. I dont know what the "extra" package was that I paid for, but there are no sign of it on the dog. So $85+ to clip my dog who now has raiser burn. She wasnt a very nice person to deal with either. It was a chore for her do work.

Keep dogs in a kennel for 11hrs with no potty breaks, DIDNT follow directions on how to cut my miniature schnauzer, they Didnt cut nails, removed his beard and never called to see if it was okey to do it! Tried to talk to someone about this was told its just hair it will grow back! My dog will never go to any Petco. Would have given zero stars if could. Oh! This was the second store that did this!

Worst grooming experience ever! I was taking my dog there for years to get groomed fir the first time I got the grooming manager and she didnt listen to a word I said on top of that she cut my dog with the trimmers and didnt even tell me!!!!! My dog wouldnt leave my side for days, dont bring your dog here!!!

In other words they had good service but some towards the customer were very odd, I seen a boy ask for something and they ignored him as if he wasnt standing there. I got what I needed and the only reason I came here was because it was on the way to where I was going.

Took our puppy in for claws to be cut and bath. They cut his claws to short. I could tell his paws hurt. Im sure they didnt give him a bath just put some foam on him to make him smell good and shine. Worst experience and not very animal friendly.
