I come here often for my pets and have always received excellent service. The employees I interact with are kind and knowledgeable, not the sort of people who would take problems out on you. Petco should be thrilled to have hired such stable and helpful people. In particular I love the geckos I have purchased for my daughter. Her mother and I have heard her crying every night from the sheer joy of owning them. She gets so excited at having them, shes been having to hit the bottle to depress herself a bit. See, she was already a happy person, we were going to spend our family week just playing boardgames and enjoying life. With these geckos though, its like she cant take the smile off her face for a moment. Were beginning to wonder if shell get stuck that way, haha! My daughter loves her pets, they are a wonderful addition to our already existing family, and are great at keeping her company when we arent around. Shes had some trouble in the past, but thanks to a loving and supporting family, she still looks at the good in life. My thanks by the way to the impeccable piece of work who spoke with her, my daughter is so excited shes been going on long walks with her geckos, showing them to strangers and making new friends every day. We can hardly keep her at the house anymore, always running hither and yon, trying to meet more people like the woman at this store. If I had known how wonderful her life would be now, Id have paid triple the price for these little guys. It took us 2 years to convince her to come out and meet new people, now I doubt shell ever stop socializing. As far as shes concerned, that woman has proven that not everyone is self-serving in this world, some people are genuinely worth knowing. So, THANKS FOR THAT! =D She told us about the leopard gecko that she got from this store who died last year on Christmas. It was a truly sad time, it nearly ruined Christmas for her. Her mother and I were there for her though, and she knew that sometimes there is just nothing that can be done. God has a plan for everyone and everything, even little geckos, and surely he was in her life to bring her joy while he could. We helped her bury it with some nice flowers, and held a small service to honor our tiny friend. My eldest daughter had leopard geckos growing up, and while it would have been easy to be hateful and blame the store they came from, it wouldnt have helped. There are just too many factors to consider, and while it can be cathartic to lash out, these people surely dont deserve it. Ive not told my daughter I will cut off the money I send her to stop her from going to this pet store after shutting herself into her house and drinking herself into a depression, reinforcing the ideal that people are bad and cannot be trusted while making sure she doesnt even socialize with someone who shares her love of pets, further causing her to spiral into a hermitage that will certainly not be ended without the intervention of friends and family but we live in a different area of the state and dont visit often, as that would be harmful to my child, so I didnt say or do any of that. P.S. I have notified the BBB, PETA, Petco corporate, the local ASPCA, and the NC DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE about how wonderful this store is. I have reported the employee as well, I was MORTIFIED at how much more stable she was than I.

See the review by whovencroft? it is a copy paste of my own review most likely by the heartless employee who took her bad day out on my daughter. I see there is now another review about dead geckos from this store. My condolences to you and your children if you need info on how to report animal abuse in this store contact me. That review below by anon anon? Thats my daughter i am her father me & her mother have herd her crying for most of the night & shes hit the bottle hard since she got home. She was already emotionally distressed by what happened, We were supposed to have a good family week together now we will spend the rest of the week cheering her up because of the woman at the store who was so hateful to her. We will be filing a complaint with petco corporate. My daughter loves her pets, they are the only thing she has in this world when we arent here, they are the only thing that makes her happy. Shes been wronged by many people in her life and as a result is depressed doesnt like being around people or leaving her home. Shes a chronic shut in with major social anxiety. Thanks to the careless piece of work who couldnt of just uttered the words {im sorry for your loss} and left it at that now my daughter is depressed and will be crying for weeks she will shut her self in her home to avoid people like the woman who works at this store. By the way it was me and her mother who told her to return them because she was ripped off. It took us 2 years to convince her to leave her home and try to meet people now i doubt she will want to socialize with anyone as far as shes concerned that woman proved her right about how she views the world. Shes gone back to thinking everyone in this world is self serving and isnt worth knowing. So, THANKS FOR THAT. She told us about the leopard gecko that she got from this store who died last year on Christmas it ruined her Christmas she was so upset she cried holding the little lifeless body in her hands till we convinced her to bury it and put some nice flowers there for it. My oldest daughter had leopard geckos growing up even she could tell it was something the pet store did. Ive told my daughter if she goes to this store i will cut her off from the money i send her each week just to make sure she wont change her mind about not going here. We live in Charlotte and i dont want this woman upsetting her while we arent there to pick up the pieces.

Took my dog in for a grooming like I always do at Petco was running a little late called to verify that she can still make her appointment said yes got there still waited on top of that another 20 minutes because they were too busy assisting another customer with 3 dogs another groomer came in ask me if I was being helped I said no she done ignored me and answer the phone walked out of the room another groomer came in asked me for the name I told him he said youre 20 minutes late we cant help you........ I was pissed after that getting there 10 minutes late which I called and verified before getting there if they could still see her for her grooming they said yes still waited there for another 20 minutes and then they said they couldnt assist me because they didnt have time they were overbooked called PetSmart and they were able to see her never again take my dog to Petco worst customer service ever

I went to their Saturday pet clinic to get my dogs shots. We arrived right at 1:30 when it started and the line was already to the back of the store. I decided to stick it out and wait. The nurse came through, put my name and how many pets (one) on a list. I waited three hours, made it close enough to the front to fill out my paperwork and right when there was one last person ahead of me they turned me and the three people behind me away. We waited three hours in line and received snarky attitude from the pet assistant who had nothing helpful or nice to say other than try back next month. They didnt even offer to put us at the front of the line next month if we chose to come back. I will not be a returning customer after such terrible customer service.
