I am very interested in cat nutrition and have taken a class as well as read several well-known holistic vets on-line. I have been amazed to find such knowledgeable staff at Holistic for Pets at the Lakewood Ranch location. (Havent visited the other stores.) I learned that the owner sponsors staff training with knowledgable dog and cat experts. This type of interest in the most researched pet care is wonderful and many products are chosen for their quality. Thank you, Holistic Pets! We all need to give our pets species appropriate diets and not just commercial "convenience" foods that are not very nutritious and cause long term health problems for our dogs and cats like wide-spread overweight.

I was pleasantly surprised by this store. After first discounting it because I assumed it was all pet food I went next door to Walmart for cat hairball remedy. Luckily Walmart didnt have any and on my way across the parking lot I noticed this place sells pet supplies in addition to food. What a darling store, packed to the gills with everything a pet could want. Prices are slightly higher than elsewhere but it feels hood to support such a beautiful, local store. Great location and very clean/tidy. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Many thanks to kind lady (JW) who helped me find a harness for my hard to fit dog. She tirelessly helped us try on endless sizes and styles to finally find one with a great fit. Great store with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Amazing selection of food. Awesome toys for pets, and fun stuff for animal lovers. Anything you could want for your pet or yourself, youll find here. Selection and quality top notch.

I understand closing at 630 means closing at 630 but at 629 and an unlocked door tells me you are open. If you are closed fine but do not be rude about it. A simple "sorry sir, we closed out our register but we will be happy to help you tomorrow" is a much friendly message than a witch like "WE ARE CLOSED!"...There are many other options from which to choose, so I will.

New location in the Walmart shopping center, River Club Plaza. They carry only the best brands of dog and cat food...also have raw, frozen, freeze dried and dehydrated. My favorite natural pet store in Bradenton / Sarasota area!
