I was looking for a discontinued dining room sideboard, a needle in the haystack, and had taken to calling ALL dealers of Aico furniture in all the surrounding states from where I live. I called American Furniture as I had, dozens of others and told the gal who answered the phone, the piece and name of collection I was trying to acquire. Instead of an immediate, "no we dont have that", she took my name and number in short order and told me she would "go look" and call me back. I usually hate these instances, because in my experience you never hear back from the person, but she was so quick and assertive, I was immedately pleased with her energy, as I am a Yankee transplant living in Tennesse and a bit fed up with "no one is in a hurry" attitude. Well in about 15 minutes Marty called me back and she had my piece on her showroom floor!!! She said the price was $1099 for both the sideboard AND the mirror, (best price I had found prior was $1189 for just sideboard), and indeed the happy dance was called for. I asked her if she could take pictures of piece to send to me via email and she did in very short order. I purchased both pieces over the phone and decided it was worthwhile to drive there and pick them up. I was greeted Wednesday morning by Marty at front door and was shown my furniture and though there were some very minor boo-boos,(it is a floor model) she told me they could touch them up while I shopped. Well I purchased another piece for my home and they were willing to negotiate on a already fair price, which made this bargain hunter very happy. The touch ups on sideboard were fabulous and you cant tell a darn thing, piece looks flawless!! Now for loading experience. I had come prepared with a trailer and packing materials and had not expected any assistance from employees there other than loading the furniture on my trailer, but that was not to be the case. Two gentleman (one the manager and the other Brian, who has been mentioned negatively in these reviews), patiently helped me wrap and secure my cargo for the 8 hour drive home. I was very impressed with the helpful attitudes from employees who frankly were not making a cent on this transaction. (Their normal furniture loading crew was not working that particular day). The drive home was wonderfully uneventful and furniture arrived safe and sound. I would heartily reccommend this store and would call here first for prices as I think they likely would not be beat. They have a large selection and some items do seem to appear to be a bit of scratch and dent but in my experience if it can be repaired or disguised, that is the best way to get a wonderful deal on extremely overpriced furniture. I have never received worse customer service in my life. I ordered 2 recliners and was told 8 weeks. At 10, I called as I hadnt heard word one from them. I ordered them over the phone, was not given and order number, so when I called it took forever to find it. Was told they would pick them up the following week and to pick them up Saturday. Get a truck lined up, call my sales guy to schedule a time. They said he would call me back in 15 minutes. No return call. Called back 3 times that day, no one even answered the phone.Turns out they never got the chairs. Called on Monday to speak to the manager, was put on hold for 15 minutes until I finally hung up and called back. Another person said he would make sure the manager called me back. Three hours later no call. I call back, finally supposedly get the manager (find out later he wasnt) to be promised the chairs would be picked up the following day and I could get them Wednesday. NO! You can bring them to me free of charge at this point and I want a phone call so I know they were picked up and that you will be delivering. Do I get a call? No. Called the store today to ensure they will be delievered, sat on hold again for 15 minutes and had to call back. Still waiting to see if they actually show up. I have never written any sort of review. I am the person who doesnt complain when something goes wrong but this was too awful not to warn people. I would hate to see anyone go through the frustration that I have had to. This wasnt just one bad sales person. At least 6 different people either talked to me or answered the phone and left me on hold. I will never step foot in this store again. There are too many options for furniture in this area so find something else.

I would never shop here if I knew the outcome. First, when we walked into the store the salesperson was rushing us and I felt pressures to make a decision. I really did like the couch I ordered and they were nice enough to take down the delivery charge, but dont ever go with what they say for shipping or delivery - EVER! They said my couch would be there in 2 weeks, days after it was to be here I got a call that it had NOT been shipped yet (I understand these things happen, but dont make promises you cannot keep). I went about a month with no couch in my new home, not exactly ideal. When they delivered it this time they were extremely late and turns out I found a rip a day later, so I went about getting it fixed. After about 10 phone calls and nearly a month, it took another trip and talking with the manager to get a new one ordered. This one was very prompt in being shipped but the delivery - do NOT bother setting an appointment. They were over 2 hours late - dont necessarily want to spend my saturday waiting for this. I just want this headache to be over and NEVER deal with them again! I would never recommend this store to anyone and that is putting it as nicely as possible.

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT buy anything from these unprofessional people! I went in yesterday to purchase a couch and was told that I could come back later in the day to pick it up. Online and on the store window it says they close at 8:00pm. I spent time, energy, effort, and MONEY to rent a U-Haul to go pick up the couch, I get there at 6:00pm and they are closed! I cant get my couch! They dont call me to let me know they are closing early or ask what time Im coming or anything. So now I am without a couch. I call this morning to ask them how Im going to get my couch since they failed to let me pick it up yesterday, and they tell me itll be $180 for them to deliver it one hour away. I ask if they are willing to give me a discount since THEIR lack of professionalism and communication is the reason why I couldnt pick up the couch (and now wasted money out of my pocket). The manager offers to discount me a measly $30 for THEIR mistake. Its cheaper to rent the U-Haul for another day to pick up the couch! This was my first and will be my LAST purchase from these people. No sympathy, no communication, no responsibility, just lackluster service overall. Incredibly disappointed.
