I feel liked it was better when it was a shurfine store to be honest. This was years ago so alot of things seemed to have change since then, also I found some things out now that make me dislike the store in alot of ways. First, I feel so bad for some of there staff. Like some costumers are really crazy and sometimes make them feel so badly and they have to just smile and deal with the most crazy things and costumer is always right, way more then I witness at other stores. It makes me disgusted when Im in line. However as you will see in my next part its not a surprise that a lot costumers do freak out at the register, but its now there faults, they dont make the prices or the sales or say what is right or wrong. I also feel bad for the employees because well I know that when cashiers mess up, it gets taken out of there pocket. I never worked there ever before and dont recommend it to anyone but the management seems like such hardcore assholes. I can see if the employee steals, and they see it on one of the many cameras they have over the registers however I cant see that it is right that they have to pay for a honest mistake, so its obvious that they dont trust anyone not even the people who work for them and if I was the people who worked for them I wouldnt trust or respect any of them asses in charge EITHER, IN RETURN, HONESTLY. I never worked anywhere where they held me accountable. Im pretty sure that businesses have a section for losses in there tax returns. Anyway tho sadly from all Ive heard, seen, and witnessed the people upstairs have there heads in there own arses and only care about one thing, profit. Due to knowing just only about there ignorance and the prices of some of the items, I rather sometimes just take the trip down to Gerrittys, even in a blizzard half the time, then to even go there. Yes I rather risk possible death then to go to bills shoprite or there gas station which is 7 minutes away. Why... Because bills obviously disrespect there lovely employees who are too good to be working there and also a store where they take advantage of there costumers at times. Costumers who are mostly local and have been loyal for years. This store is obviously ran on making money and profit, not on healthy wonderful core values. So yeah without a doubt some of the prices are crazy and therefore as I said up top, I cant blame some of those costumers that go nuts sometimes but they are going nuts on the wrong person. Really its the owners fault, not the cashiers so go find that jackass and take it out on the right person. Sometimes I do find some rare deals and products, although rare it is nice when that happens. Thanks to Google you really do know now what is rediculously priced and what is not, and what is worth the gas youre saving for a sale and what isnt.

I like Shop Rite supermarkets in general but this one needs to work on a couple things if they want to get 5 stars from me. There is a lot to like about the Daleville Shop Rite. It is a big store, very clean, the cafe, deli bakery and beer/wine sections are very nice and the food in the cafe is good. The prices in this store are very competitive and they often have unbelievable sales. They sell products that you wont find in other stores. And all of the employees are friendly. Heres the thing they need to work on. The prices ring up wrong a lot. They either mis-label things, or when sales are over they leave the sale price tag on and it rings up wrong. We do about one third to half of our shopping here (we also regularly go to Wegmans and Aldi and occasionally Gerritys) and Shop Rite is the only store that regularly charges you a different price than whats advertised. Its usually only one or two things, but it happens on almost every shopping trip. Another thing, there is always pallets full of frozen and refrigerated food sitting in the middle of the floor unattended. 15 minutes later, still there, waiting for someone to put it away. Fix those two things, (especially the wrong prices) and this store would get 5 stars.

Cant say enough good things about this store. I used to think it was too exspensive but now I just stick to the generic and sale items and Im ok. They keep expanding their ready to serve hot food items and cafe and Im loving it. They now sell wine as well as beer. I dont drink either but I just really like the atmosphere on the cafe side of the store. I can sit down and drink a cup of coffee & watch TV while I perfect my grocery list before I start shopping. And I just found out that their pharmacy will charge me LESS than Walmart for my 3 generic monthly prescriptions so I will be switching to their pharmacy ! When I have an issue with a coupon not being rung up right the customer service has been fair about correcting it. Everytime I go in this store I feel unhurried and uncrowded. I never have to jockey my cart around other customers because the aisles are so wide ! I do wish theyd offer some of those cute half size upright carts for when you are getting less than full cart but more than an arm baskets worth of food. And also I do wish theyd add a salad bar.

The dairy department here has some serious issues with poor refrigeration and rotation. About a third of the items I buy from their dairy section are going bad prematurely (and no, its not my refrigerator). This shouldnt be any big surprise since twice recently when Ive been there Ive seen a full pallet of dairy items sitting out in the middle of the afternoon, unopened, with no one working on it. They also tend to be selling a lot of dairy stuff which is only a day or two from the expiration date. Its a shame because otherwise its a very good store. Great prices (much better than Weis), wide aisles, friendly and helpful employees, not usually that crowded. But this last time I shopped there (just before New Years 2014) is probably going to be my last because I just cant afford to be throwing out any more nearly-full containers of milk and cottage cheese.
