8/26/2016 We usually got to Petco, but we decided to change it up and visit the Salem, NH store. BIG MISTAKE Unlike Petco, there are no hellos or smiling workers at PetSmart. All the employees look bored, uninterested, and non-animal lovers. One female employee gave us attitude in the fish section (actually inserted herself into a private conversation with my husband and I had just to be rude.) She then followed us to the area of rabbits available for adoption. My well behaved dog was looking at the rabbits through a fence which surrounded the cages. So there was fence – 3 feet of space – cage. The same rude female employee told us our calm dog was stressing out the rabbits. The rabbits were in the same content position (most of them sleeping) prior to my dog coming over. Maybe one noticed my dog but it did not start to breath heavy, shift, rapidly move its eyes, or show any tell-tale signs of stress. My dog was simply looking. No whining, charging, drooling. If the rabbits are so susceptible to stress, why are they on ground level at a store that welcomes any and all dogs? This employee was completely rude and judgmental. I didn’t even waste my breath to say my dog lives with a de-clawed cat and plays with kittens and other cats. She needed the power trip so we let her have it. Despite the other barking puppies, a dog who was constantly pooping on the floor, and a dog that jumped on everyone who walked by, this woman needed to address my dog. We walked away stumped and later saddened by her stupidity. We spent the rest of the trip far away from her. As for my dog? We took her off the leash and she enjoyed the store sans leash. And not one employee noticed /and or cared because she was not being disruptive. She was actually being complemented on her great behavior in a store full of ill-behaved dogs and distractions. PetSmart – I feel like a prerequisite for working there is liking animals, having some knowledge of animals, and having the ability to have normal social interactions, right? The ones we encountered – especially his rude female employee – was way off. I like your products and prices, but I am forever turned off following this experience.

I come here when I dont have time to go to my usual spot in Derry to get food for my Sun Conure. I buy the Roudybush Maintenance blend, and for the second time, Ive experienced a pantry moth larvae infestation within a week of opening the bag. My birds cage is cleaned twice a week so its not environmental. I also froze the bag for 24 hours because supposedly it will kill any larvae in the bag and it happened again. I will be speaking with the manager because Im beyond pissed, this is a pretty big health issue here. Take this off the shelves. You just lost a customer because I am beyond disgusted.

I would not purchase anything here. by doing so you support the obvious mistreatment of exotic animals. after attempting to address animal welfare concerns with the manager she informed me that they were within all corporate guidelines for exotic animal care. as someone who has been working with exotics for 20 years, I can confirm, and provide a great deal of research material, that confirms they are absolutely being negligent. Im waiting to hear back from corportate to have this matter addressed, but I will no longer being doing business with Petsmart.

I came here specifically a few times even though I live close to a PetCo because they had fish filters here that I needed. There is a much larger selection of fish and aquarium supplies here as the store is very big. I have gotten some fish and fish supplies here such as tank decorations and a filter for a 10 gallon tank. There are also always cute cats up for adoption here that I cant resist petting. There has never been a long wait to check out and it is conveniently near the highway exit right next to the mall.

Staff is very friendly and there is always lots of clearance stuff to choose from. We take our dogs there often and always find what we need. I love the extra fun stuff they do for your pets every so often, I mean who doesnt love getting their pets picture taken with Santa???

I misplaced a receipt on a dog groomer clipping set and I desperately needed the money back in my acct to pay my car pmt. I dealt with a wonderful person by the name of Dawn Kelleher who was very helpful and understanding of my plight and went above and beyond to help me out.

Very nice staff. Me and my Husband found everything we were looking for. Although its a bit pricey for accessories...we bought a fish tank. All in all we spent $175+. Little tiny defects in some of the accessories. But nonetheless, you can easily fix them.

The reptile people here should firmly advise people that their current lizard will eat the freaking new lizard. baby beardy was eaten by an adolescent beardy within 24 hours of purchase. store manager says too bad, I should have known.

Love the grooming salon. Our somewhat shy chocolate lab is always tail-wagging happy on his way in to visit his buddies, and comes out smelling... Well, as fresh as a lab can smell, lets be honest. Great job, team!

Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. The groomers are awesome! Our rescue dog Cooper has anxiety over small spaces so they work with Cooper to keep him comfortable while getting groomed.

very unhappy with the grooming service. I had to wait for 1 groomer while there were groomers sitting doing nothing. Why cant they help each other out? Bad management!!!!

Very friendly staff, but especially love the vets and staff at Banfield Pet Hospital located inside. The store also has an area with rescue cats for adoption.
