I had an extremely negative experience with DriveTime. I would never recommend them to anyone, please just stay away! I discussed starting a lease with them, my credit was run and I was told it would be x amount of dollars. I told them I would be back in two weeks with my next paycheck and sign all the paperwork. When I returned the policy was revised and it cost more money to start the lease than I was first told. I was in a hard situation and decided to continue with my plans of driving off with a car. However, the car gave me even more problems!! I had to wait three days for the car I requested because it was going to the shop for “squeaky brakes”, when I finally get to test drive it, the brakes were still groaning! The female representative that was with me stated, “Maybe the brakes are just too tight? If they are still making a noise let us know within 30-days when you are still covered for everything and we will take care of it!” Knowing I needed this car now, I decided that sounded like a reasonable plan. I was busy the rest of that week, then left town for 10 days. When I got back I called DriveTime about the brakes and was directed to an auto shop that worked with them. (Unrelated to DriveTime, the employees at the shop were not the best, they were a little rude and seemed incompetent.) The shop told me the brakes were cracked and that could not have been done by me since it was a damage over time problem, as the rest of the car showed no signs of force breaking them. DriveTime, of course, does not cover cracked brakes and deemed that the rest of the breaks did not go below their safety standards so they would not be helping me. Obviously I was not okay with that response so I called DriveTime to discuss this and the agent on the phone informed me that when I left the lot the problems were all mine. Again, that was the wrong answer. I decided to drive to the store that helped me. The manager there refused to help me and even tried to bribe me with filling my gas tank! I realized from then on I was on my own. I would love to get a lawyer, but DriveTime knows they are crooks and have a pretty decent arbitration agreement, it states that nothing will go to court it will be settled by an unbiased third party, plus states you cannot try to sue them for damages, nothing an agent told you is a contract it would have needed to be written down, and on the list goes. So if you want to end up paying the cost of a new car and deal with awful customer service, sure, sign up for DriveTime. Just remember that when they bend you over, it is legal because it is stated in the contract that you must remain helpless.

First, I would like to mention my amazing car salesperson, Elena Fernandez. She was straight forward, honest, informative, and so friendly. I truly felt like I was buying my car from a friend. I strongly suggest this dealership if you are in the market for a car. Im sure there are many great people at Drive Time, but if you have the opportunity to request a salesperson, ask for Elena. The dealership was clean, open, and had many vehicles to choose from. All of the staff I encountered was beyond friendly. Everyone said hello with a smile on their face. I had some last minute issues with my financial institution, and Elena worked with me and never gave up, she was patient until I was able to get my financial situation solved. I had a very negative experience with a dealership just two days prior, so I admit that I was a bit skeptical when we first arrived to purchase the vehicle. I would absolutely recommend this dealership if you are in the market for a car in the Las Vegas area. The car I bought was fairly priced. Previously when I spoke with Elena, I had mentioned what type of vehicle I preferred, and when I arrived, she had already gone out of her way to make sure those makes and models were available for me to look at. She informed me of everything I needed to know, and she made sure everything on the car was working prior to me driving off the lot. The financing was a breeze compared to previous purchases experiences. All of this with absolutely no pressure from the sales staff. The finance department was fast and friendly, too. Thank you, Elena and the rest of the Drive Time Staff. You truly are a friendly and honest company, and made my experience a pleasurable one

The sales staff were polite, and courteous. They certainly take advantage of less than perfect credit ratings. The lease vehicles arent properly inspected as they claim. They dont disclose major vehicle damage, or repair. Leased a vehicle 05 trailblazer which being used I anticipate a certain amount maintenance related repairs. Within the first week the vehicle would stall if you used 4wd, they claimed not to find any issues, of course they wouldnt, it was still within their warranty. Long story short after having multiple front end linkage issues from ball joints, to hub bearings, to control arms I was informed by the mechanic shop referred by drivetime that the vehicle had been in a severe front end collision and would likely never see the end of these issues. Considering their warranty really doesnt cover much of anything. Now that Im over half way complete with my payments and have invested as much so far, the amount invested will not roll over to the next lease should I want out of this money pit. So Im stuck paying off a vehicle that they sold knowing significant mechanical deficiencies were present. They take advantage of good people in bad situations. I will never do business with this company again, and would deter anyone from conducting business with them. They seem like a great second chance company initially, but they stick it to you pretty hard on the back end. Im stuck paying 12k for a vehicle worth 6k which given the high risk nature of the business I expect that, but if Im so grossly overpaying, the least you could do is sell reliable vehicles, properly inspected by a reputable company.

I am from California. I went to Drive Time in Riverside, CA but they did not have a car I wanted, & couldnt find one in SoCal with the features I wanted. I did find a car I wanted in the Decatur, LV dealership. I called & spoke with Carlos. He was very helpful & saved the car for me, as I told him I would need to take a bus there from California , & that I was hoping to make a deal & driving back in my car. Well, that is what happened. I was happy with the service Carlos gave me & he was a personable, likeable guy. The only snag in the deal was that the dealership (not Carlos) advertised the car online stating it had navigation, which I wanted & which was one of the features I wanted & it promted me to go there to buy it. But when I got there I found it did not have that feature. I told Carlos & showed him the online posting I had printed out about the car & its features. Since it didnt have navigation, as advertised, i thought the price of the car should be adjusted downward. So Carlos asked management about that & they would not adjust the price, so i was a bit disappointed by that. Otherwise, Carlos was very nice & I would recommend him to another buyer.
