Good and bad experience - mostly good. Went in because my FRS started making a loud metal-on-metal clanking noise on the passenger side at low speeds (under 10mph) after putting some wheels on I purchased from a friend, noise sounded like coming from rear - I suspected maybe broken CV joint/Axle or sway endlink or suspension tophat - something of that scenario. Anyways I pulled right up to the service bay and a technicial / service person stepped up and was very polite and asked me what was going on. Was told it would be $125 to diagnose problem and if it was something covered under warranty then that would be waived, or if they found a problem that wasnt covered, then that would be applied towards the parts/labor cost. Seemed fair, so I gave them the go-ahead to take it in and try and inspect for what was wrong since I still am under warranty. An hour goes by, and the service guy greets me again and sits down with me to tell me that they couldnt find anything wrong - suspension all looked great, axle and cv joint were in great health, and that the car seemed to be in great condition. Even drove it and were not able to replicate noise. I thought this was a little strange, as the noise happens for me quite frequently, but was glad to hear that the drivetrain and suspension were fine. He said he would not charge the $125 diagnosis since they couldnt actually find anything, and I was pleased because even though they spent an hour trying to figure out what was going on with my car, they didnt charge me for the time. I left - a little confused, but glad my wallet was still full. Upon exiting the parkinglot, however,, I heard the clanking noise again... I continued home anyways, and when I got there I jacked the car up myself and spun the wheels and found out that one of the TPMS - tire pressure monitoring sensor - broke off inside the wheel and was bouncing around and clanking against the wheel at low speeds, leading to the noise I was hearing. I was happy the issue was nothing serious, but pretty concerned how I was able to figure out the problem on my own but the Toyota service techs werent even able to hear that there was a problem in the first place. Considering how frequently I heard the noise, it was pretty hard to believe that the techs couldnt replicate it, but the person I dealt with seemed like a genuine honest guy, and I did believe him when he said they couldnt find it. He also complimented my car, which was nice. Overall, Id probably go back for warranty repair because of how courteous and well I was treated, and the fact they wouldnt charge me since they didnt find anything, but id be a little concerned at their ability to figure out strange and non-obvious issues.

I get that going directly to the dealer is expensive. I totally get it. However, I dont expect to be taken advantage of and be treated like a PoS. Never again will I go back to Schaumburg Toyota. I should have gone back to Elmhurst Toyota where I normally do go and ALWAYS receive stellar customer service. Ill touch on the customer service part in a minute. Last weekend, it snowed really bad. I wasnt driving fast, about 10-15 miles per hour. There was a bend in the road. I attempted to follow the bend but it wasnt happening. I slid and bounced off the curb. Monday morning, I took the Rav4 into the dealerships service center. I was expecting to pay a lot, but I wasnt expecting to get ripped off. So apparently I bent the rim when I slid into the curb. I needed the wheel replaced. Fine. That plus labor costed around $700. I then got a call today that I needed the bearing replaced. I asked how much. I was told $700. $700 for a bearing?!?!?!?!?! I declined. I later went online and purchased a bearing for $120 from OReillys. I dont understand how you can charge someone $700 for something that costs a fraction of what youre charging. That is beyond absurd and its trying to take advantage of someone in a tough situation. Absolutely terrible. Seriously. Shame on you guys. Now my issue with the customer service. I went to pick up my vehicle just a little while ago. The guy that brought me my car sucks at life. My car was completely covered in snow and ice. He had the wipers going on full blast... you know... because my wipers are going to obviously get rid of the thick layer of ice on my windshield. Genius. The car was completely covered in snow. No courtesy to remove the snow from the windows? I guess thats asking for too much. My wiper fluid light was on. You guys couldnt have refilled that for me? Maybe that would have added to the already ridiculous labor cost rate. The guy who sucks at life thought it was nice to leave a huge pile of snow on the car floor. Dont bother removing it. And how short is this guy? My seat was all the way against the steering wheel! Couldnt move it back? My goodness. Is there an extra charge for good customer service here? This whole experience was so ridiculous. And the best part of this... you guys forgot to put the valve stem cap on the new tire! Classic! ...... I will be following up with Schaumburg Toyota directly and I will be sending an email to corporate Toyota. This kind of absurdity cannot be allowed to happen. I also recommend to others who happen to go here, avoid the service center. Avoid it. Avoid it. Avoid it. Go somewhere else. Elmhurst Toyota has great customer service... I just wish that I lived closer to them.

Edit: We didnt reach the deal because your sales person as well as manager were rude and stubborn. We bought the car at other dealership with same deal, and we were treated far better. If you are not apologetic to a customer face to face, you shouldnt pretend to be apologetic on the internet. This 5 star reviews makes me wonder if they are their own internal employee providing the review. Giving a one star will be a generous thing to do. I prefer not giving any stars at all. Lets talk about service. They have their car sitting in the lot and rotting. When you look around in the parking lot for the car, no one seems to care. No one came to help us to guide through different car models. Once we decided what car model we want, we look for the color which we want. Since the color was not in the parking lot, we asked sales person, and he rudely told us, "what we have in stock is all in the lot." So we gave up on color we want. Prior to coming to this place, we did our homework, and found base prices and deals around Chicago area dealers. When we sat down with a sales person, they gave us competitor price. This process took us three hours!! After agreeing with the price, we ask if we can get the color of our choice, they said they will charge us extra for that!! Yes, I understand the process which they have to go through to get us the color we want, but they are not willing to negotiate for any deal. When we asked for a conversation with a manager, manager came to our table half hour later. Calling this manager rude will be an understatement. He was chewing gum while talking to us. He was loud, and cut us in middle of our conversation. He wasnt willing to listen to us at all. Other sales men were hovering over our table like house flies, and were looking at us like inappropriately. After long 6 hours stay, and witnessing bad customer service, we decided to leave. Before we left, we talk to GM regarding the service. We ask him" are you OK with not negotiating and letting a customer leave unhappy?" He bluntly replied, "I will get business from someone else." They turned down a deal for $100. We left the schuamburg toyota at 7, and went to a dealership which had the lowest price. We went there and within two hours, we were proud owner of a corolla which has color of our choice, all the features we want, and the price which fit our budget. Conclusion, stay away from these rude people. Save your time and energy. You can travel little further south east to find better customer service and better prices.
