My son has been a patient at this facility for over 5 years. I have seen GREAT improvements in the operating of this facility! I honestly wouldnt take him ANYWHERE else for his behavioral health! One Dr. Swarp(has moved to oak cliff now) drew a diagram showing me exactly what was going on with my son and his nuero(brain). He eased the apprehension that I had in regards to medications. He currently sees Dr, Kahn who is equally as GREAT! Takes time with you as well as remembers YOU the parent name without looking at paperwork. He remembers (or has notes) everything that was discussed at previous appointment times, and follows-up. Metro Care also gives parental resources for parents on how to cope and manage when caring for adolescents with disabilities! Likewise Stormy the site facilitator shared numerous resources with me for summer activities and other things communities wise available for kids FREE of Charge for summer! I read some of the reviews on this facility. I CANNOT speak for anyone else but as for me.... I give this Metro Care 5 STARS!! They now even offer primary care needs for regular clinical needs! I will say THIS Keep YOUR APPOINTMENT dates and TIMES because if you come as a WALK-in you WILL be there for hours...but then who fault is that>? Its yours... because they honor those who do make and keep appointments! Others have to get in where they fit in! I never do these reviews however I felt compelled! As a parent with a child.... THis type of review would have helped eliminate a LOT of the time I wasted in search for "the" healthcare provider needed for my son! Thank YOU Metro Care for ALL you Do.~Rachel M.

Ive been taking my minor child here for anxiety and requested additional diagnosis. When I met with some man, manager I think, he went over the chart and suggested a counselor. We meet the counselor Mr. M* and then go to leave. The front desk people at the time were very rude and as a result I was vehement about not returning to this location. About a week later I get a call that Mr. M* was no longer working there but the newly assigned counselor would do a home visit. Nick was amazing, very professional and great with my minor child. Yes, I had to make a few cancellations in appointments due to anxiety, scheduling and basically life. Fast forward about 3-4 months. My minor child finally trusts Nick and we move forward into actually making a difference. I was told today that Nick is no longer there. They refuse to discuss whether he is in private practice. I understand that, its all great and gravy. Whatever. But this is a building full of un-tenured, possibly intern-style counselors. In my experience, you will not be able to build a trust relationship long enough to make a difference, so why make the effort here? Spend the money, bite the bullet and go somewhere they have experienced, tenured counselors and supervisors that know what is actually going on!

Do not come to this facility unless you are prepared to wait 5+ hours. Even if I have an appointment, I still wait over an hour - nearly two. This facility is not organized in the slightest, the psychiatrists see one patient an hour or less than one. One psychiatrist talks down to me and makes decisions for me without speaking to me about my disorders. At one point, I had asked to send a note to my therapist to call me if he has an appointment cancelation so that I could come in earlier and they told him to cancel my appointment. The only positive is the therapist, Dr. Dean. He is always on time and is one of the best therapists Ive ever had. Despite the horrible facility, he never makes his patients wait. hes the exception. This is one of the worst facilities I have ever been to. The only reason Im returning is because of Dr. Dean. I will never see another psychiatrist at this facility again. If you werent crazy before going to metrocare, you will be after youve sat in their waiting room for 4-5 hours.

I have been to Metrocare Mental health only twice however they left a very good impression with me. I did not have funds to pay nor was my medicaid in tact as I had moved here from another state. Although the wait was lengthy it was very UNDERSTANDABLE because they were swamped!! And they arranged for me to see a professional plus paid for my medication without problem. What a blessing! I believe they are very concerned with their patients. Sometimes we need to remember that what we put in...we will get back! These people are working under a lot of stress and they are human just like we are. Having mental health issues sometimes puts a block on seeing outside our own box. I was treated very well by the front desk, admissions and my provider!!! God bless you all!!! And thank you all. I have improved and Im able to continue on to the next step of my life... Sincerely, kl

Ive been a patient here for little over a year now and basically your first time coming is always going to be the hardest because they have to do so much paperwork to get you IN the system so be prepared to spend your entire day there :( But other than that I dont like it there this is the worse MHMR clinic in all of DFW area. In one year Ive had 3 different doctors and they always throwing new meds at me. But my recent doctor shes a real nice laddy she actually remembers who I am and she talks about my personal life and not just my medication, I dont remember her name but shes a black lady with fair skin and shes very young might be in her late 20s early 30s I love her :) But the staff are very hard working but some need to get their priorities straight and pay attention to whos in front of the line and on the phones instead of talking in the back room to one another.

I was a client at MHMR from 2001 to 2012 .I was under the care of case manager Shonnon Anderson.During that time I was Physicaly & mentaly abused by Shannon Anderson & her boyfreind Joe Moses.I report this abuse to staff at MHMR that they (Anderson & Moses) was stealing money from me & my custom motorcycles. The doctors there would just drug me with medication that I didnt need just tto cover this abuse up.If I didnt take the medication Shonnon Annderson would call police to force me to take it which caused me to go in to the hospital.I have not taken medication sence Oct.2005 and have not been in the hospital sence. Now I struggle with going out side & going around people.Anybody that goes there will be diagnoised with something even if there isnt anything wrong with them.MHMR is all about maken money at your expience & health.

I have been taking my daughter to this clinic for her adhd. Its been 2 months since i went. I did not remember she had an appointment but the lady in the office decided to call me the day of the appointment less than an hour from it and then going to get rude with me and tell me what would i like to do i said let me make a new appointment then so i started to make a new appointment and she began saying that day and time isnt available then going to say they dont have anything till the end of the month at 1 in the afternoon so i guess its okay for my child to go with out her medication for the whole month. And then they call me by my wrong name if ive been bringing my child there for over a year you should know my name too. I will be finding a new Dr.
