I spoke with Fil on the phone about a car I saw online on a Friday. He answered every question I had to my satisfaction. I had done research on the history of this cars changes from it inception to when it was discontinued. Fil was as aware of the nuances of the cars history as I was. I came to the dealership on Saturday. I met Altin. He, too, was very knowledgeable about the car I was buying. All the people with whom I had interactions were respectful, professional, friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. I saw the car online. I drove a distance to see the car. I read the carfax report. Altin and Fil were helpful in answering all my questions, but like a lawyer, I asked questions to which I already knew closely what the answers should be. I chose to buy an extended warranty on my car from the dealership who will be servicing my car. I will be going there to have them give the car the in-depth look-see. I purchased my car "As Is". I know what that means. Whatever my local dealership finds that needs work, is on me. No surprises, there: as is means as is. Life is a gamble. Look at your car carefully before you buy it. Read the car fax, bring a mechanic, do whatever, but do not complain if things go wrong after buying under the term: "as is". I financed through Star Motors. Chris got me a good deal on length of loan and percent of interest. Financing was also an area in which I had already done some checking at my local credit union and home bank. Overall, this was a very pleasant car buying experience. In fact, this was one of the most enjoyable car buying experiences I have had. I prepared. Thank you, Atlin, Fil, and Chris and everyone at Star Motors. One more thing, the carfax report is accessible on the Star Motors website. Print it, read it. Peace This is part two of my review. I bought this car the end of June. I was told, I am sure because I specifically asked how I would get my plates, I was told that they would come in the mail. So I expected them to come in the mail from the Secretary of States office. I called the SOS several times asking where the plates were. I contacted my local post office to ask if they had them. I wrote a snail mail letter to the SOS. I used the online contact form for the SOS office. I was told that the plates had been mailed on 7/24. Today is 8/19. I got an email from the SOS office stating that the plates had been sent to the dealership. At no time did I get a call from the dealership to tell me they had the plates. I called the dealership. I was told by Adam, at the dealership, that my plates were at the dealership. He said the person who takes care of the plates is very reliable. That may be true in most cases, but I was not informed about my plates being at the dealership. I was also, as stated told on the day that I bought the car that the plates would come to my house. I know I asked because I live over 100 miles from the dealership. I was not told by anyone that the plates go to the dealership. All that being said, Adam from the dealership, who had to hear my tale of woe, said he would mail my plates to me in registered mail with tracking and confirmation. He said he would call me tomorrow with the tracking information. I gave him both my phone numbers and told him to leave a voicemail with the information. I will be calling them back tomorrow if I do not get this information by noon. I know there are bigger world issues than this, but I am a bit cranky at the moment. I had originally given the rating of 5 stars, the 3 stars is indicative of my current thinking. Peace, Breathe, Peace

I called to inquire on a 2003 350Z last week. I spoke to Alex on the phone and told him about my trade-in and how much I was looking to spend. I made it clear I didnt want to drive an hour and fourty-five minutes one way unless it was likely that Id be coming home in the Nissan I wanted. My friend and I get to the dealer and test drive the car. I was jonesing for that car pretty bad by this point. He gave my keys to who I would assume was the manager to evaluate my 05 Mustang GT while we start paperwork. As soon as we sit down, he says the bit of negative equity I have would be a problem unless I had "at least a few thousand dollars" as a down payment... (keep in mind I told him that I owed on my car BEFORE I drove all that way) Then he proceeds to ask me if I have a credit card to put it on. Are frekin kidding me? A CREDIT CARD?? No. Absolutely not. If you cant work with me, give me my keys back so I can go. Mind you he never even asked me about my fantastic credit. This guy didnt even try. And the real icing on the cake is that he was reluctant to give me my keys back. He left us sitting there and when we thought he was going to get them, he was outside to move the car I wasnt going to buy back to its parking spot.. Really?? So we step outside to ask for my keys and he tries to get me to buy a more expensive car. Right. Cause I called about a specific car to buy some random thing I dont even want, right? GIVE ME BACK MY KEYS SO I CAN GO. There was another salesman standing outside by the door that heard the whole conversation and interjected, "Dude, give them their keys back so they can go. Whats wrong with you?" Finally, he gave me my keys. Thank you for wasting my time and gas. My Mustang loved driving an hour and fourty-five minutes each way.

I have never felt so cheated in my life! I drove over 700 miles to purchase a 2008 Lexus GS350 AWD Pearl White because its the exact car I have been wanting. I found one at Star Motor Sales and it was everything I wanted...AWD, Pearl White ext, Black int, etc. It was a bright day and the sun was beaming off of the pearl white. I drove the car and looked over it as best as possible. I purchased the car and drove over 700 miles home. Once I was home I parked it in the garage that night, and stood there to admire it for a bit. Then I noticed hail damage ALL over the car. It was so faint and the combination of pearl paint/sunshine hid the hail damage, but sure enough its there! Then on top of that, the rear bumper must have been hit at some point because it was detached on the drivers side. It pushes in enough to be hid, but pops out a little after a period of time. The SALES MANAGER said "its a great car, Ive been driving it as my personal vehicle, theres absolutely nothing wrong with it, blah blah blah". Well then you were obviously aware of the damage! I attempted several times to contact the sales manager, but never got through to him and never received a call back after leaving messages. This was the summer of 2013, and now over half of a year has passed and still has not been resolved. I am currently talking to agencies about what can be done. Im sure Ill never see a dime back. As long as they do not make an attempt to resolve, Im going to do my best to make sure that this does not happen to anyone again. I used to sell cars myself, and I am a gear head. I know cars and the business, but would never think of doing this to someone. I have purchased probably 20 cars in my life, but have never dealt with anyone so misleading and dishonest.
