Just found this new business and it is the hidden gem for Metro Detroit to go to: Pretty awesome prices, fantastic trade-ins for all games, and they take pride in what they do. A personal favorite of mine to go to. The biggest imports selection Ive EVER laid eyes on (as a collector, thats a bold statement), and a huge array of games from old to current. Plus the owner put a TV with systems out so if you want to try a game, you can play before you buy, which every store should be doing. This will be my main stay for a long, long time. 5 Stars hands down

Cool place. Good dude working in there. Didnt get his name (long hair, 18-23 ish, beefy) but he was nice, helpful, and really knowledgeable about gaming history (and modern gaming too). Was fun to BS with him for a few about Sega CD and Saturn. As for the store: Pretty small in size, but if its a retro game/system, and its not worth $10,000; theyll have it. They had about 600% more Sega CD (not a real popular retro system) games than any other Retro Game store Ive been in. Only spent 10 mins in there, but I highly recommend it.

WOW, I didnt even know this place existed until a google search pulled this place up. I Definitely will be coming back again in the future for all my gaming needs. Came in here to buy a power adaptor for my Super Nintendo, but left with a few new replacement controllers and a classic Nintendo game. Great selection of games, and I was surprised at the great prices that matched what I have been seeing on eBay. Nice friendly staff also. Thank you.

Excellent video game store with very nice selection of retro games and systems. They had nearly every old retro system for sale with near ebay prices. They had some nice high end systems as well like the vectrix and turbographics systems. The video game selection was solid, but the high end video games were light. Overall, a great place and a very nice and welcoming owner.

Great staff, great selection from Game & Watch to Xbox One and everything (I mean everything) in between. Theyve got a pretty respectable selection of systems as well as games, if youre looking to relive your childhood and are starting from scratch. The staff is knowledgeable, and the glass cases are filled with some fine eye candy for the uber-nerds out there.

I was very impressed with their selection. Lots of interesting import titles as well as current titles. The clerk was very friendly and helpful even though I showed up only a few minutes before close on a Friday. Everything is reasonably priced and well organized. Ill be returning even though its an hour away from home. Worth the drive!

As soon as I got my Super Famicom, I was looking for a local shop that carried import titles. After I found Retro Taku, all Id have to do is bring in my list, and look around. I usually found quite a few games on my list at the store just from getting down and dirty, digging rough the games, also found some surprises as well.

Amazing breadth and depth of titles with incredible prices. Definite must see shop for any lover of retro and current gen video games. Japanese selection is unrivaled by anywhere else Ive seen in the US. Bar none, best video game shop, used or new, in the entirety of the Midwest.

Place is pretty new and has a ton of super oldschool and import goodies. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent selection. Reminded me of the great and fun to visit videogame stores of my youth, before they all became gamestops staffed by a-holes! Had to be said.

If youre looking for rare or hard to find video games and consoles then look no further! Retro-Taku carrys and imports games from Japan and has all the retro goodness you could ever want! The staff is super nice and answers any questions you might have. Prices are also very fair.

Just stopped by for the first time today looking for a fat PS1 with a fresh laser; Griffin was able to help me out with that and a couple trade-ins. Great service, plus youd be hard-pressed to find a better selection of retro/import goodies.

Fantastic place to go for all your nerdy gaming needs. Store is stacked with all of the games you could ever hope for and the staff is very knowledgeable. Only downside for me was the lack of Retrotaku not serving hot spaghetti daily.

Retrotaku has a lot of cool games and systems that you cant find anywhere else. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They also post pics of new trade-ins on instagram, which is great if youre looking for a specific game or system. :)

Great selection, competitive prices, extremely knowledgeable staff (unlike almost every other store that sells retro games). Easily the best video game shop in the metro area. Oh yeah, and they always have rad music playing :)

Retrotaku has a bit of everything, prices are fair, and the staff is very helpful. Only reason I give a 4 instead of a 5 is because the amount of selection for some console games isnt the greatest.
