I dont like car dealers in general. And always stayed away from the private small dealers. The car I was looking to get in my area was a 2003 Toyota Solara convert. When I saw it on line I said to myself I had to get it. Only problem was it was the small dealer that I vowed to not do business with. So I did a search for reviews on Ultimate Motor Cars of Downers Grove. I found a list of positive reviews so I thought I would give them a try. They were pleasant and willing to do business. Im not a forceful buyer but if something doesnt seem right I will walk away before any Dealer can reel me in. I had a trade in which I had a set amount I wanted for it. Like most dealers would the first offer was not where I needed to be to make the deal. But it was most respectful amount to were as the big boys offer a rediculas amount then start there fuzzy numbers game. That was not the case here at Ultimate! No fuzzy numbers games, we were able to come to a reasonable price for both and the trans action was pain free. They didnt even say " lets go see the finance manager" which for me is a kiss of death. Ultimate though small compared to the big box store is large in customer service! Which for me is treat me like a neighbor, and not a person to reel me in to make the killer deal for the dealer. Its been almost a month in my new 2003 Solara Convert and so for im enjoying a car that I really wanted at a good price and was treated with respect. Try them before you go to a big box store for your next used car purchase. I think you will be glad you did!!

I didnt purchase from these guys but heres my story..... Going to be paying off my wifes car note and I need to replace a car for myself, went to have Al give me a quote on my car (trade) and take a look around. Told him my situation and Al was totally cool, no pressure, didnt even push for contact info or anything. He gave a quote right around what I expected which was around the same as carmax (who pushed me out the door not allowing questions). These guys were straight, real down to earth human beings. He even put up with my ridiculous calls and questions regarding loans. He talked to me like a person and gave me the straight poop. The customer service provided in our interactions was A#1. Turns out I have to wait another month or two to pay my wifes car off so called Al again to follow up. Again, no pressure and no BS. Said "thanks for calling me back and come in when youre ready" instead of trying to push me into another loan, "work something out" or be a typical pushy salesman calling the house incessantly (remember, didnt ask for contact info). Long story short, when I get back out in the market for a car in a month or two Ill go to these guys first simply because of the customer service.

We had a positive experience with Ultimate Motor Cars. We found a better deal on the truck we were looking for with them than anywhere else (2004 F-250 Super Duty diesel). My only criticism was that we had questions about the truck they sold us that they were not able to answer. They knew the basics but we had questions about certain features on the vehicle (that were added by the previous owner) and they were unable to answer these questions. It was late in the day and their mechanic had already left for the day. Maybe the mechanic would have been able to answer the question - but the owner was not. Also, I dont know if this is typical or not but they were unable to provide any sort of a report from when they received and looked over the vehicle. This would have been nice. That said every other aspect of our experience was positive (friendly service, vehicle was well represented on the website, no pressure to buy, willing to negotiate on price, etc). We wouldnt hesitate to return to Ultimate Motor Cars in the future.

I purchased my 07 Mazda 3 from Ultimate Motor Cars a few weeks ago. I had spoken to one of the salesman over the phone inquiring about the vehicle. When I asked about their policy regarding pre- purchase inspections, I was told it was encouraged and that I could drive the vehicle to my own mechanic in Saint Charles. He just asked if I was over 18. So the next day I set up a time with my mechanic and drove all the way out there, only to be told that I couldnt drive the car unless someone with me was over 21. This really pissed me off since I had to cancel on my mechanic and waste a trip. Since I couldnt drive the car, I asked if they could drive it a mile down the road to a mechanic a friend recommended. The salesman was not very excited about helping me and was unpleasant over the phone. The vehicle ended up going to a mechanic more convenient for THEM. Once I eventually got down to buying the car, Dominic made the purchasing very quick and easy and with minimal stress. Overall, it was an OK car buying experience.

About half i year ago we went in to buy a car, with out agreeing on a price we eft, a few days went on and we decided to go back and work out a deal. FIVE MINUTES after leaving the dealership the check engine light went on. We called Dominic who swore he would fix it and have it all sorted out, in the next week they sent us to some sketchy mechanic that was a few shops past the dealership, where I sat for five hours just for them to tell me that it was just a sensor" and they did not even replace it. a month later we took it to our mechanic and turns out the car needs a whole new turbo, with cost about 3000. STAY AWAY, they sold us a car knowing there was a check engine light, they just turned it off with an OBD2 sensor. Once we got a lawyer involved, the owner jumped in promising to fix everything, needless to say, they did not. STAY AWAY DO NOT BUY CARS FROM HERE

I would highly recommend Ultimate Motor Cars. I bought an 07 Charger from them a few weeks ago. The dealer, Al, was a straightforward, honest guy and the dealership is pretty credible itself. The car was definitely well maintained. However, the day after I bought the car, I started having transmission issues. Turns out, the transmission needed to be fixed. I called the dealership and they were very sympathetic with my situation considering I just bought the car. They told me to bring it in. They took it to dodge on my behalf and had them fix the car. Even though I bought the car as in and with no warranty, the dealer offered to pay half the bill which was a 1000. That was amazing of Ultmate Motor Cars since theyre not liable for the car at this point. I gotta hand to them, theyre honest dealers and I would definitely do business with them again.

Not even car hunting, I was driving by Ultimate Motor Cars on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove and saw this BEAUTIFUL Silver 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC. Being a Cadillac man (Ive had 6 previous, 2 of them Eldorados) it immediately caught my attention. After running my errands, I stopped by and looked at it and was VERY impressed. First of all I wasnt harassed by a "pushy" salesman, something that would have caused me to leave. I went inside and spoke to Dominic about it and he gave me the keys and allowed me to check it out. Needlessly to say 5 days later I came back and luckily the car was still there. Now I am the PROUD owner of my 7th Cadillac, 3rd Eldorado and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Thank you Dominic & the staff of Ultimate Motor Cars, 2101 Ogden Avenue, Downers Grove, IL
