We bought a used lemon at Wickstrom a little more than three months ago. It seems strange that we would write a positive review after buying a lemon, but, heres the deal: They had no legal obligation to help us out after we found out our new (to us) car had a bum engine. Several mechanics told us it was likely Wickstrom would not have known, even with a routine inspection. (It was a Honda Pilot, BTW, which is why we didnt feel the need to buy an extended warranty.) Mark, our sales guy, was a super nice guy who we are confident never would have sold the car to us had he known it was a bad car. When we called him, more than 3 months after we bought it, to tell him what was going on, he said he didnt know if they could help but he would talk to the service manager. Jim, the service manager, has been super helpful. When he found out what was going on, he sent a tow truck to pick up our car, towed it back to Wickstrom, and looked it over, only to come to the same conclusion that other mechanics who looked at it had: the car had a bad engine. Again, keep in mind, Wickstrom is not legally obligated to help us in any way. One of the reasons we chose Wickstrom as the place to to buy our car is the good reviews we saw here and the way they responded, even to the few bad reviews. In our opinion, unfortunate events happen. Its how you handle those unfortunate events that show the character of a person or a business. Wickstrom is picking up much of the tab to replace our engine and giving us a free car rental while we wait for it to get fixed. What, a few days ago, looked like it could be a $5,000- $15,000 mistake (depending on if we chose to walk away from the vehicle) has turned into a much easier to handle $2000 mistake. We truly appreciate the efforts Wickstrom has made to work with us on this issue and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a vehicle- new or used.

After having a bad experience with another Chicago area dealership trying to purchase a new Equinox, I contacted Wickstrom Chevrolet for a quote on the vehicle I was looking for. The price was excellent for a vehicle in high demand and I decided to visit. With the recent bad experience I had, I was prepared for surprises and games. Nothing like that ever happened. Mike Seydlitz and Mark McAllister were exceptionally professional, friendly, and upfront to work with and went out of their way to find the particular color and option combination I was looking for. The trade-in price was very fair and at no point during the process did I ever feel that I was being misled or deceived. When I was finally ready to purchase, I set up an appointment and the vehicle was beautifully detailed out front waiting for me when I got there - the paperwork was easy, fast, and efficient - and, again - with NO surprises or bogus fees or add-ons. Mike also took the time to show me all of the features of the new vehicle. All in all, this was the most exceptional and hassle-free car buying experience I have ever had in my life. I hope to not have to purchase another car for a long time, but when I do it will definitely be at Wickstrom Chevrolet. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone considering a new Chevy in the Chicago area.

This dealership had my car for 3 days now and contacted 3 people with 3 different issues and the problem is still not fixed. I went into the dealer to get some items out of the car they told me the wrong information and brought me to the wrong car!! Very very VERY rude to all 3 of us. Asked for a rental car was told to go to enterprise or you could come pick up the car and bring it somewhere else. Decided 10 minutes later i did not trust them with my car and I said ok I will pick it up. All of a sudden the car wasnt able to be picked up because they were leaving for the day and the car needed to be put back together. Something fishy was going on here. I will NEVER ever come to this dealership again in my life. They need to learn some customer service skills. And how to treat people...expecially WOMAN. I cannot believe this has happened. Unbelievable I have no words to describe how they made me feel. When i called a different dealer it was a complete 180° change and they treated me with respect. If i could give this business 0 stars I would because they dont even deserve 1 star. I much rather drive an hour away than ever come back to this place. And my father comes to this dealer on a regular basis. He will no longer be doing that! And left a message with the GM to make a formal complaint!

They sold us a car they knew didnt work...Then tried to make up for it...Then gave us the run around for 4 days....Then gave us false information...Then tried to keep our check saying we had the car for "an hour and bought it as is so..." they couldnt give us our check back...then gave us our check back. Ill say this. Mike, the sales guy, was nice enough and seemed to be put in the middle of a whole chaotic situation. Jim, the service manager, seemed nice enough until he knowingly sold us a car with a bad transmission. And if youre the service manager, and you dont know theres a bad trans in something, you shouldnt be the manager of service. They only test drive their cars on routes with speed limits of 40 MPH or less. Jared, the president, is a young un who got handed the business by his dad, grandpa, and so on and really has no clue how to run a business that cares about their customers. This place is so unorganized, has no communication skills, and seems to try to pull a fast one on its customers...well, it seemed that way to us. In the end, we got our check back and they got their car back. But the ordeal to get to the end was absolutely ridiculous and completely unnecessary.

Hands down the easiest car purchase I have ever made. I worked with Jared Wickstrom directly. I had already planned to purchase a 2012 Equinox and was working with several dealers when Michael Seydlitz responded to my internet request. Jared and Michael without any hesitation beat my best price by about $400. In addition, when the original dealer I was working with delayed making the dealer trade for the car I wanted (I believe in an attempt to sell me something off their own lot instead), Jared made the trade no questions asked before he even valued my trade-in or met me in person. Dont get me wrong, we still went through price negotiation and trade-in value negotiation (which should be expected), but at no time did I feel pressured or stressed... we also agreed on trade-in value very quickly ($1500 more then CarMax offered me) and he beat my best price before I ever walked on his lot. The prior year my wife bought a new Mitsubishi Outlander and at the time named all car salesmen "Scum Bags". Wickstrom definitely changed her opinion as we had an extremely good experience working with them. If possible, I will buy from them again.
