This review is based on my experiences with the service department. March 28, 2014 Pros: Fairly consistent on wait time and being ready when promised Usually get a free car wash Waiting area is clean, spacious and has free coffee, water, popcorn and Wifi Cons: Sometimes I question the free car wash, my car has come back and looks pretty dirty Pricey, but its a dealership service department. They usually are. LIED about completing services and checking on multi point check system. LIES. Im pretty ticked about the lying. Want to know more? Keep reading my lengthy story.... Im not going back. Ive been going to Martin Chevrolet to service my Traverse for about two years. My prior visit in December 2013 put my hackles up, but todays visit in March 2014 was the final straw. In December during my oil change I asked if they could check my wipers especially the back one because it was super streaky. They said it was fine, they noticed no streaks. Ok, if you say so. A week later the rubber part starts to break off. It was just a corner so I trimmed it off and figure I could last until my next oil change, no biggie. But if they had checked it, wouldnt THEY have noticed? hmmm, fishy.... Dont lie to my face and say youve done everything to make sure my car is running properly. Especially when Ive asked for particular services to be done and then also ask you if everything was okay after the service job. This is was Ralph the service advisor did to me today. My requests were simple today: oil change, wiper change, find out why my turn signal is doing the rapid blinking thing (very diagnostic terminology I know), and an estimate to replace my cracked side view mirror. He also recommended the air filter be replaced since it was due. He says hell have it washed after the service. Okay, thanks. Once Ralph returns to tell me the car is ready is when the problems rear their ugly head. He says theyve changed oil, air filter, wipers. Everything is copacetic. I ask about the turn signal issue. He says, "Oh, theres absolutely nothing wrong. We checked, its fine." "Really? But I thought the rapid blinking meant something was out or something." "We checked, everything looks great." Okay, I go to pay at the cashier. I go to my car and check the things Ive asked about, especially after my last visit in December. The rear wiper has not been changed. The rubber had finally peeled off last week so it is pretty obvious. Also I tried the blinker and checked my lights. Sure enough, the rear light was burnt out. Really, Ralph, you checked????? They also didnt wash my car but had taken off the antennae and left it my passenger seat. I went in to ask the cashier lady about the antennae and also told her my concerns about the turn signal, wiper blade and wash. She was super helpful and replaced my antennae herself. And also called up the service dept to ask about the other things. The wash was not completed because of my broken mirror. That wasnt a big concern, but you could have told me. And apparently they told her they hadnt changed the rear wiper because it wasnt needed. REALLY??? The rubber part was gone. Shady! I told her that rubber part had peeled off and she relayed the message. A porter came and got my keys and took the car to the back. They replaced the signal bulb for free, but I was still charged for the rear wiper blade. Also, when Ralph came back to tell me it was ready, he was sure to mention that they changed the bulb for free, but made no effort apologize for lying to me or for the extra 40 minute wait. this review can also be seen on yelp.

I have so many good things to say, Im not sure space will allow! Ive had a lot of dealership experiencs and Martin is honestly the best in customer service of them ALL, even Lincoln. I bought a Camaro and a "winter beater" last week and the whole process was a pleasure, even though we werent easy clients. (Although their ultra-equipped waiting room kept my boys very unexpectedly well-occupied with computers, refreshments & even a wall-to-wall windowed toy room where we could see - but barely hear them, nice!) Our salesman Luis felt like a family friend from the start - no pressure at all, and he ran all over for our special requests and really went above & beyond. Extra special thanks Luis! The GM Dan helped us through financing and was very fast (so refreshing) but thorough, explaining everything clearly and making sure we were comfortable and informed. Upon returning for another key, Manager Phil took great care of us and got me in quickly with a warm smile and a firm handshake. So easy! And to top it off, Marci in sales gave us her beautiful Silverado demo! Above & beyond Im tellin ya. Shes such a sweetheart and really knows her stuff! Love a fellow hot lady gear-head ;) And just when you thought this review was over... Dont forget to use their service dept! I had some questions about my new car and Aaron was very kind and knowledge and answered everything and more. Then, OC in service fast-tracked my service pick-up with a REAL happy-to-help attitude - Ive made the same request for early pick-up at other dealers and they act like youre being such a pain, not at Martin! The guys even washed it and left me a fresh cold bottle of water in the cupholder upon pickup. Even the receptionist & cashier are always pleasant, prompt, helpful and on the ball. Im never on hold more than a moment. Martin Chevy is GREAT. They got me into the car of my DREAMS and made me feel valued - so rare at dealerships. Im so thankful we dropped by for the BBQ Saturday & tried for the dreamcar instead of setting for another boring compact 4-banger lease for the same monthy payment elsewhere! And yes, Im a REAL person, and this is a REAL review. I really am THAT pleased - and shocked - with how great the whole team is here. Looking forward to my visits for free oil changes and car washes, never thought Id say that lol. It may sound cheesy, but they made us a Martin Family for life! Why get robbed & treated bad elsewhere? Go to Martin. Youll thank me. #TRUST

I was originally at ray Chevrolet in fox lake, not to bash the actual business but there are some people there who should not be. They lied to me and kept going around and around with me for a week, telling me one thing and it being another. Found out the car I got from them had so much wrong with it and they lied straight to my face about it being inspected (considering the issues were simple to see and the service crew was already gone when I was offered the deal...) then they turn around and try to force me into a vehicle I did not want. I called a good friend named Jason who recommended me to go to Martian Chevrolet in crystal lake and to see Marci, I contacted her and she was aware of what happened at this other dealership, considering I was there carless with my young child who had to see me cry from the horrible service of the people from the first delaership I was at and being stuck 30 min away from home. Martian Chevrolet had a porter come pick up my son and I and brought us to their dealership. From there Marci was amazing! So caring and sweet! This was Wednesday this had happened and by the time we got back to Crystal lake and to Martin Chevrolet, the bank we were going to use was already closed, still not having a vehicle to get home, she herself personally took my son and I home. The next day she had everything lined up for me. She helped me get into a great deal and basically saved my life at that point. I got into a nice car with affordable payments and car washes, oil changes for life and a full gas tank on my vehicle. I cannot express the gratitude of the great service provided! If you are going to get a vehicle, please go to Martin Chevrolet and ask for Marci!!!!!They showed me that there are still good people in the world, and I cannot thank them enough.
