I have been taking our senior dog here for a while now. The last time was in November 2012. I called today to make an appt. to get her groomed, no haircut, and was put on hold while they checked the schedule. Next thing I know, someone else gets on the phone and tells me that because my dog is a senior, they cant groom her. What?? I told them she had just been in a couple of months ago and she was a senor then, nothing had changed since and asked why she couldnt be groomed now. I was told that Petco is "cutting back" on grooming senior dogs because of the liability. Hmm, interesting as I ALWAYS sign waivers when I go in. This person also said that it was due to insurance and liability issues with older dogs. She then said that I was told this when I brought my dog in last year. What?? Really?? This was news to me and when I told her that she said, "Oh, well, I apologize if they didnt tell you but..." My dog may be a senior but shes in better health than some dogs half her age and I can guarantee you that I will NEVER step into a Petco again because to me, this is bogus, akin to discrimination! The first thing Im going to do is call my friend who has 3 senior dogs and takes hers to the Petco in her area as I dont want her to run across what I did. I guess well have to let all our friends with senior dogs in on the new policy and find a new place for our senior dogs...good-bye Petco, youve lost this customer and soon, many others, for life!

FLEAS. A few months back, my boyfriend went to get our dog her food from this store. In the treat bar near the registers, he noticed a bunch of fleas jumping in and out. He originally going to grab some of those treats since its our dogs favorite, but after seeing the fleas, he decided absolutely NOT. Well, last week, I forgot about that story. I brought home a new dog bed from that store. Yesterday, I looked down in my coffee cup, and I see... A FLEA! I freaked out! I always use K9 Advantix II on my dogs. I bathed them and immediately used a flea comb on them. They were completely free of fleas. And come to think of it, they didnt even have any bites on them. They werent even itching, at all. So, where could the flea have come from, since we dont bring our dogs into Petco or Petsmart? No doggie daycare, no play dates even recently... and if our dogs are clean... And thats when it hit us - the flea came from the flea ridden Petco I bought the bed from. So now we washed the humongous bed, vacuumed the house like crazy, bought flea spray... I mean, all because I bought a bed from a pet store. It was a ridiculous inconvenience. I saw ONE flea, but there isnt ever just ONE flea in your home. So now Ive got to go to battle with these suckers. Never again will I buy a bed here...

NEVER BUY ANIMALS FROM HERE!! I came in to buy a cage for my Snake when I stopped to admire the ball pythons there was one in the corner all skin and bones with his head all sunken in. The employee Justin who was the manager of that department informed me that the snake hasnt been eating. He said they made a vet appointment for the next day but the snake ended up dying over night. This snake would have to not eat for over a month to get that small and they didnt record it so said there was no document of him not eating. They also said due to all the animals they cant pay attention to all of.them!!! This is by far the worst place to buy any animal. I would rather get one from shady people on Craigslist than this place

I went in there earlier tonight to buy some items for my cat i felt like spoiling him for his birthday and i had a hard time finding the car section cause it was so small, like half an isle.... and even then the selection they had was very poor and dis organized. One of the isle dividers was even broken giving it a very ghetto and unmaintained look. The store seemed to be poorly stocked, organized and maintained which was a bit of a let down cause i would expect higher quality considering the area it is in. I will probably end up doing my pet shopping from PetSmart from now on this experience put a sour taste in my mouth about Petco.

I really dont know what other way to put this, IT IS DISGUSTING! I had my 3 year old mastiff get groomed there and I noticed they werent calling, I thought they were just taking their time and waited... Crappiest decision of my life. I knew something shady was going on so I went myself and found out my dog was "injured" he had a huge gash on his leg and the workers there did nothing to clean him, I asked them when did this happen and why your never called me and they said it happended RIGHT WHEN I HAD THE THOUGHT I SHOULDVE GONE! Bad quality and rude workers!

Ive been buying Natural Balance dog food at this Petco for years. They always have plenty of all varieties in stock (and there are a lot of varieties). My 2 corgis love the organic and reduced calorie dry dog food. I also buy the moist "rolls" and Natural Balance treats. The prices here are less than Kahoots or Pet People. The service is great!

i had a grooming appointement at 8am saturday 5/14/2011. the place was closed and when i called the employee was roud and it is 10:47 nobody from the store called me back never go again there

I would give this 5 stars but there are never cashiers around. You literally have to search in the back of the store to find them.
