UPDATE: Got my SS from Milton Ruben in Augusta! Great experience there!!! Showed up at 2 to test drive a Camaro SS (Sept 3rd). The test drive was a great experience. At the office, I explained that I was not ready to purchase today, just looking at features, getting an idea of what I wanted to buy soon, etc. I was asked, “Would I be willing to drive the car home today if we could make it work?” I quote, “If you can work a miracle and get the payments where they need to be today, then yes, I’ll drive it home”. So he handed us a form to sign so he could get a FICO score. I did mention that I did not want a hard credit report pulled until we have a payment/price in mind. Specifically I stated that. But it was pulled anyway. So now we wait - About 6, the finance manager sat and talked to us, secured a good interest rate, and it was, but still no price info. The salesman came back, and gave me some numbers finally. (After the finance manager secured a loan? I should have known then that we were having a HUGE miscommunication.) The numbers were full MSRP, great for a starting point, I know the average selling price is for that car however. That is fine, I know how to negotiate, as I have before. I read the amount they were giving for my trade on the stack of papers. I had a CarMax offer from that morning and know also what 2 other places offered me in August, looking at another V6. Andean was giving me 4K less than the lowest KBB value range. So when I had to ASK about my trade, I showed the salesman the CarMax offer for 15K, not 11K. Basically he said if I wanted 15K, I should take it to CarMax and come back. I was finally given a payment amount for the new car loan. Just as thought, it was too high to be agreeable. So I proceeded to say that this really just wasn’t going to work today, which was OK, as today was really about fact checking to begin with. They wanted to “work more numbers” to see what the payment could get to. Since it was 9, and they closed soon, I agreed. I assumed they were working to find a lower payment. I was asked if “I was ready” – I said, “let’s find out” and went into the business managers office and handed a piece of paper that had the SAME amount listed on it that we just said was not going to work. Realizing now that no one was really listening to me, my wife looks over at me and says her Facebook wall has a post congratulating her on her new Camaro. Finally, after I make it clear that the payment amount was not working, I was offered 14.5K for my trade. Better, but still not what I was looking for. The offer of trade increase was presented that I was being offered a favor since we had a miscommunication. Insulting, but the numbers were getting closer. I was considering it, even after the evening. But finally we walked out of the office giving them a final “No, this isn’t going to work today.” The sales person asked, “What did you expect?” when we walked out. I expected for the financing and numbers to actually be talked about before a final contract is written up. “That payment amount was just too high, it would work out better for me if I came back in a couple months.” I mentioned the amount I would have in hand, about 12% to 15%. I was told “You know a down payment won’t make a difference in your monthly payments”. What can you do at that point but say, “OK, well, this just isn’t going to work today, but thank you for your time.” Now, the best part: Labor Day. I am at home having dinner with my family, and get an email. It was my monthly On-Star report for my 2014, or so I thought. It was actually a report for my “2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS”. I opened my “My Chevrolet” App, and sure enough, my account is now linked with the 2017. Right now, I can start the car, turn on the alarm, lock it, etc. I know banks are closed today, but I can’t wait to check the status of my current car loan. Everyone was nice and personable, but if you know car buying and dealerships, you know the game, and this was the WORST experience I have had looking at cars. And I typically enjoy the process.

I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and will not be shopping it in the future. Here is an account of my Andean Chevrolet experience. I was not in the market for a new (or used) car for another two to three months. My plan was to wait until my warranty is up on my current car. What brought me into their dealership was a mailer sent, as part of a "Win Big" promotion. I had no expectations of winning a big prize but it wouldnt hurt to register. As part of the event registration, I was offered a $25 gift certificate to make an appointment for a test drive. Since Im unsure of what my next vehicle should be and they had a few cars that I thought I might be interested in, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to check them out. I arrived early Saturday morning as one of their first customers. I was greeted in a friendly manner immediately. I told him I was interested in getting another vehicle but not for a few months and was just doing some research. I test drove two relatively new used cars, a 2014 Chrysler 300S and 2013 or 2014 Toyota Tacoma, both were very clean inside and out. The new car I test drove was the only Colorado they had in stock. The sales person seemed fairly knowledgeable about this particular model, but was completely unaware of another model offered by Chevy. Once the test drives were over, we went back into the office. I reiterated my plan to wait a few months. With that the sales person, pressed me to get my car appraised, which I agreed to. He came back with a low but reasonable first offer. It would have been a good starting point for negotiations, if I were serious about purchasing on the spot. Again I passed and said that I wanted to wait. With that I was handed off to a manager and pressured again to purchase a vehicle. They finally took no for an answer. While I was waiting for the appraisal, I witnessed other potential customers being pressed hard to buy. I dont know if this is just the nature of this particular promotion or their typical sales tactics. The only other red flag I would put up is the fact that their used car prices are not listed on their website. My bottom line is buyer beware and be prepared for high pressure sales tactics, at least specifically during a "sale" promotion. P.S. The $25 Gift Certificate turned out to be a coupon for $25 off a $100 or more purchase of parts and/or service and the "Win Big" prize was a $5 gift card to Target.

Terrible experience! I normally go to John Megal in Dawsonville where I bought my last 2 cars (where I am treated with promptness, kindness and respect). However, my car seemed to have a very simple battery issue and is still under warranty. Andean is very close to me and I decided to save time and mileage. I arrived Friday Morning at 9am and spoke to service advisor Zak; we discussed the issue and agreed it should be an easy battery replacement. They were busy and he asked if I was going to leave it or wait, I offered to leave it if I could have a shuttle home. (I was under the impression I would have my car back the same day.) I heard nothing on Friday and thought I would get a call on Saturday, no call. Monday afternoon- I decide to call and find out what is taking so long, I am transferred and left on hold twice before going back to the operator where I leave my name and number for a return call. Tuesday afternoon- I still have not had a call back so I call again, same issue and leave my name a number again for a call back. Wednesday morning- I call and get transferred to Jim, Jim tells me Zak is helping another customer and will call me right back. Two hours later I call again and request to speak to the service manager Mac, I am sent to voice mail where I leave a message describing the situation and asked for a call back. Wednesday afternoon- (I still have not had any one return my calls to tell me why it has been 5 days to replace a battery) I go to the dealer in person to find a completely unorganized establishment. Jim was the only one at the counter and had to go hunt down my paper work, key and car. I told him I could not take it then, I would need to go home and have someone bring me back so I could drive my car home. He told me the car was repaired and apologized for the lack of communication and went on to say he would handle from here on and for me to come see him and I would be taken care of. I go home and return with in 30 minutes. I go see Jim, he then ask me if I was there to pick up my car... "Well, I didnt come to say hi." they had to AGAIN hunt down the key and the paperwork for me to take my car. While I waited, another customer was on the phone asking about his truck and was put on hold for the advisor to discuses and "locate the truck" I guess that guy is having the same luck with this dealer as I did. This was the first and last time I will ever take my vehicles to this dealership.
