I have been in this location at least a dozen times through out the past couple years, and have always had a bad experience. The employees at this location prefer to huddle together and talk all day in the middle of the store, instead of assisting customers. When you approach them to ask them for help, they act as if you are inconveniencing them, and provide little to no assistance. I recently went in there to show my wife one LGs new displays I had seen at another location, and most of their displays were off and in non working order including the one I wanted to see. I asked one of the associates about it, and apparently setting up displays is contracted out and there was nothing they could do to show it to me. It is hard to sell tvs if you cant show your customer the picture. I went around to look at another item on my list, and they had 2 stock ladders back to back placed in front of it. This is not the first bad trip here. Some of the issues I have had in the past at this location were: Asked an associate near the laptops whether the ram in one could be upgraded. Which it would be fine if she didnt know on that model, but she didnt have a clue what RAM even was. Had to go ask someone, came back and told me that the hard drive was upgradable. I clarified I was asking about RAM not Hard Drives. She had no idea what I was talking about. Went in to look at washer and dryers, had a question about delivery. Had to ask a nearby phone and table department for help. The obviously were unsure about delivery times or costs. Called for an associate 3 times until a manager came over. He was rude and acted like he didnt want to be bothered with us. Needed to purchase a cover for my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Associate handed me the wrong one. Pointed out that I needed a 2014 edition because I read they were incompatible with previous versions due to re positioned buttons. He argued with me until another associate walked up and explained that I was correct and they were out of stock. I have been to a dozen other best buys in the region and country, and have never been in one as bad as this. It has actually become a running joke with my friends and coworkers about how abysmal their customer service is.

I do not recommend shopping at this location. Ive been to many different Best Buy locations over the years, and this one was overall a bad experience. Im a nursing student, so I really want to find a tablet that can connect to a keyboard (for taking notes) so that I can lighten the load I carry every day (big text books and a big laptop get heavy pretty quickly). I did my research and decided on a tablet I wanted. I asked an associate if they carried it, and he said no and he was glad they didnt. Already starting off very rude. I explained my situation (as mentioned above) and told him the criteria I was looking for in a tablet. Instead of helping me and working with the budget I had set, he responded by saying, "either change your major or suck it up." If hes ever my patient one day, I just might tell him to "suck it up." (Not really... but a girl can dream) I left pretty soon after that remark. Either I got an associate who really shouldnt be working there, or Best Buy needs to have their employees take a class on manners. Insulting a customer is no way to make a sale. The sad part is, Im not even done yet! In the same visit at the same location, my boyfriend came in to pick up the laptop he had ordered (for the second time, because they messed it up the first time). They over-charged his card the first time and made his bank think it was fraud, so they cancelled his credit card. After getting a new card, he came back to pick it up and they kept telling him that his card was declined (although it was going through on his banks end). It got to the point where he just had them cancel the order so he could go home and order another one and hope his card would go through on both ends this time. But in that time, he cancelled a Microsoft Office order after talking on the phone with Best Buy. Yet over a week later, the charge is still on his card despite them cancelling his order. Needless to say, we both left very frustrated.

My fiancé and I went into this location to return his Samsung Note 7 through their exchange program. Now we had already been to a Sprint store and another Best Buy location but the first location did not have the phone in stock that he wanted so they referred us to the Gainesville location. We walked in and the first guy that spots us automatically told us that they werent doing the exchanges anymore but sent us to the mobile department anyway. The second guy we encountered was new, had no clue what he was doing so he asked someone else. Two other guys proceeded to tell us that the exchanges for the Note 7 ended yesterday and told us we had to go directly through Samsung to get an exchange. First off, these people clearly have no idea what theyre doing because the Note 7 is a RECALL and it is ILLEGAL to deny an exchange/return on a RECALL that can potentially endanger people. Also, Best Buy needs to communicate better to their employees because it also CLEARLY says on their website that they will take ALL exchanges/returns for the Note 7, no matter what. So we ended up calling Samsung and guess what, they told us the exact same thing: that Best Buy should still be accepting the Note 7 returns. We have now contacted Best Buy Corporate to complain who has ALSO confirmed that they ARE still doing the refunds. So please, Gainesville location, get your act together.

To begin with this store has a manager named Warren that has no business even remotely being in management. Has a condescending way of talking to a customer that is complaining about the lack of his mobile phone department to take care of a paying customer that checked and verified numerous times before heading that way o purchase a new phone...even going so far as having another store verifying before driving that way from another Best Buy. Only to go though the transaction and erasing my phone to trade it in to be told that they could not activate the new phone because it was pre-ordered. Then to think he could just turn he back as if to dismiss me. I called ahead, drove all that way, verified again while in the store before erasing my phone and getting ready for the new one, and then he dismisses me as if I were asking for something free. And then he gets offended because I said "what the hell"? And then in a smart tone tries to speak down to me by telling me "I am going to have to ask you to refrain from using inappropriate language in his store". Not the best way to handle a customer that you ticked off and asked a question using a single word not obscene. So stay away from these jokers...because they will get your blood boiling...and then try to make it your fault.
