I shop at this store all the time, I will admit this. I go there because occasionally you can get a good deal to make digging through this disorganized chaotic badly run store a worthwhile endeavor. I stick to color of the week items to get good deals. So yes, I shop here a lot. HOWEVER, this store is run by several incompetent power hungry IDIOT managers who MARK UP EVERYTHING to ridiculous prices. Everyone complains, and even the employees are disgusted by the pricing here. Literally every time I go, which is a lot, I hear everybody complaining about the prices. Its gross. Goodwill is getting ALL the merchandise donated for FREE, its either peoples old crap, or some stuff from target (which they charge HIGH PRICES for even though half of it is damaged in some way). So they have no merchandising costs other then paying their employees to sort it and put it on the shelf- and they dont even do a good job of doing that. 90% of the stuff they stock their shelves with is UTTER CRAP, its ugly, old fashioned, chipped, cracked, and on top of this they slap as high of a price as possible on it to try to rip people off. I see stuff people donate that they couldnt sell at their garage sale. The store is not organized, the shelves are absolute mayhem. My issue is with management, and I suppose store policy in general. Anything nice, any clothes that arent ugly or stained or your grandmothers old crap, are marked up. Shirts are suppose to be 4.99, dresses 8.49- in this store ANY nice shirts are marked up to 7.99 (if not more), and you will rarely find a dress for less then 14.99. These are peoples old clothes, they have been worn numerous times before, you can see signs of physical wear all over the clothes. THESE ARE NOT NEW CLOTHES. Its ridiculous to be charging 7.99 for a well worn shirt. You can go to Kohls and find a shirt for that price new. They do the same thing for shoes- and the shoes look well worn. The managers cant seem to wrap their thick skulls around this fact, and try to treat Goodwill like its a Marshalls,TJ Maxx, or even Target- for their pricing. First of all, Those stores are like heaven in terms of shopping environment compared to Goodwill- They are clean, well organized, brightly lit, ACTUALLY HAVE NICE STUFF, etc. I go through Marshalls and it is a beautiful shopping experience; the prices are higher but its not a thrift store, the stuff is brand new and they actually pay for it. Sometimes I find stuff in Marshalls CHEAPER THEN GOODWILL. Goodwill is a shitstorm in comparison and you have to dig through dirty broken crap to find anything good, and even then the good stuff is usually not in the greatest condition- BECAUSE ITS USED. Everything smells, everything is damaged, everything is ugly, except for the 5% of stuff, which is why I go. And then you see the prices for the 5% and even the ugly crap, and you want to punch somebody. Another complaint- they also DO NOT test any electronics they sell at ridiculous prices. I bought a steam cleaner only to find it doesnt work after the 5 day return policy. That is just pathetic that Goodwill cant even be bothered to test the items they sell. Ive tried calling the corporate office to discuss this matter, but they dont care because they never called me back! I am going to shop at Goodwill until I can find a decent alternative. And then, I will spread the word about how corrupt Goodwill, so hopefully people will donate their goods to another suitable alternative.

I go to this Goodwill whenever I visit family in this area, its one of my favorite places to shop. The store is pretty neat and clean, there is some organization, its pretty easy to find items. My only problem, like most people have said already is the pricing. Prices seem a bit high, especially since I tend to get quite a bit when I go. It can add up. But for me its sometimes worth it, in order to get an item not everyone will have. I do think that some things are a bit over priced though, especially on some clothing items. They raised prices recently on their movies and books, which is a bit of a bummer, but what are you going to do. Overall its a nice store. The staff are pretty nice and helpful. I think it has improved in recent years. I think its worth checking out, after all, you never know what you may find.

My wife have been going here since we moved to NY from NC in 1999. They have a great selection, largely due to the very oppulent, materialistic, population of the area (those McMansions apparently dont have enough closet space). As a Manhattan commuter making less than Wall Street salary, I shop there to help save money for the continually increasing Metro North train tickets. In addition to buying clothes, I check out the miscellaneous stuff (I was able to add a missing 9-iron to a golf set I bought in a yard sale). I would have rated it 5 stars, but there is often a not-quite-right smell there, and they have often had really -dispicable ghetto-rap music on (verging on pornographic). When my wife complained, they claimed it was the only station their radio got (yeah, right!).

Absolutely Horrible! Ive been going to this location for a couple of years and have watched it continually go downhill. Inventory is always disorganized, staff isnt helpful (neither at the retail store nor the donation center). Long lines, almost always has just one register open despite their being 2 registers(and 2 cashiers to operate them). Housewares damaged, tons of CD and DVD cases that are empty(discs stolen). I have never felt compelled to write an online review but this location just keeps getting worse and worse. Its a large store with a ton of inventory and they are in a great location - hopefully their management will take note and begin to make some changes - because despite all of its potential the Wappingers Goodwill is a total failure.

The prices are too high on most things, and if you put something on hold, most of the time it will be sold, even if theres a paper saying that the item is on hold or money was put down on it. They do give senior discount. The staff is so so. I wouldnt give them an A plus. Everything is clean i must say. They have a variety of things, but i believe that the prices need to be cheaper on most things than what they are, and not just cause everything is used. But because they need to be more conscious of the fact that everyone is on a tight budget, prices need to reflect it. I have seen alot of designer things in the store but the prices on some things are insane, and some are moderately priced.

Holy crap. Most overpriced goodwill Ive ever been to. $50 for a PS2? I bought one two years ago with two controllers at Goodwill in western MA for $15. $7 for a ps1 game...$9 for used flats...$6 for a set of two VHS tapes. Almost all of the electronics I looked at could probably be bought for cheaper shipped online. The color of the day discount only applied to clothing and textiles, so maybe there can be some deals to be found there, but I didnt look. Definitely not the place to buy anything else. They had a lot of stuff and the staff seemed friendly.
