I found a great deal on Capitols website. I loved the car, and it was reasonably priced and had relatively low milage. However, while running a report, I found that it did not have Anti-lock brakes. As a long-distance commuter, this was an important feature, and I wanted to be sure that the vehicle I purchased came with them. I sent out an email, in which they said theyd check. They didnt get back with me before a salesperson took over. He assured me that the vehicle had ABS brakes, and told me that he confirmed with the owner that it did. I decided to purchase the vehicle, and was very happy with the process. There were mechanical issues with the car that they hadnt acknowledged and that I discovered myself. To make a long story short, in the middle of the process of completing my loan, I read that this particular model did NOT come with ABS brakes. I again asked my salesperson to confirm that the car had them. He never did. On the day I was supposed to purchase the car, I went and confirmed that for myself. The owner had no idea, and it seems like he had never talked to my salesperson. He and his daughter were both rude and entirely unapologetic, and even insinuated that I was the one that was inconveniencing them, when it was clear that my salesperson had mislead me throughout the process of buying the vehicle. They made a big deal of the fact that Id turn the car down because of a lack of ABS, and were quite patronizing in their tone. I do not suggest going to Capitol Auto Sales. They dont care if you like the car you buy, they just want to stuff you in a vehicle to make a quick sale. They have no idea what features are in their cars, and they have no clue what mechanical issues certain cars have. Darren (or Darryl, whatever.) has no idea about cars, and put no effort into adequately investigating my questions or concerns. And either the owner or him lied to me about their knowledge of ABS in the car I was purchasing. Go to a place that cares about you. Capitol doesnt.

This place is a dump ground for cars. All of the positive reviews anywhere on the internet for this place is by people the owner knows and you can find out by searching his facebook that they are his family and friends. The negative reviews are all real experiences. They have two lots on s. cedar and the people that work there are almost as trashy looking as the cars. All of their cars having missing fuse covers with missing fuses that you will find thrown in the seat, floor, or trunk, along with broken parts that theyve kept after replacing with junkyard parts just thrown into the trunks. Many of the cars are cobbled together for a quick sale. They drive the cars around the lot and run right into the others causing damage. You would have to be a complete idiot to buy a car from them. I laughed at the cars and told the salesman i would like to see them with all the fuses in. They tried to sell me a 2008 chevy cobalt with 65,000 miles for $5,000. it had been in an accident with extensive frame damage to the front end exceeding $3,000 to repair. I found this out first by driving and I almost crashed because the front end was so badly damaged and wouldnt drive straight down the road. Someone on their lot pulled out the front bumper, attempted to straighten the frame rails, and threw on a matching color bumper cover and hood from the junkyard masking the damage. If you look underneath you can see the pushed in AC condenser, pushed in radiator, and bent frame. I cant believe this car is even up for sale especially with a clean title. Wipers, headlights, AC, horn, power steering, were all non functioning. So if you are as stupid as these nasty looking people then buy a car from them. Make sure you finance it too so you get stuck paying for your trash for the next 5 years.

I just purchased a vehicle through this place and although I do like my vehicle, for now anyway, I would never go through this place again. The guy I was dealing with for starters posted the vehicle on Craigslist it wasnt until I was on my way there that I found out this was a used car lot. He told me there was two sets of keys to the vehicle and after I had purchased the vehicle he told me the spare key was at his house. A week went by and I finally contacted them for the other key and to ask when my plate would be in considering the other plate was going to expire. The guy told me he couldnt get my plate until I sent him a picture of my license. Which they had already made a copy of... when I asked what happened to the copy he said it must have been shredded by accident. Finally I called back another week later and they magically just received my plate and they were going to mail it to me. I told them no I would drive there (an hour away) to pick it up and to get my spare key. I get there and the guy who has my key isnt there and the young girl told me she would just mail it to me. Well that was a joke because I received an empty envelope in the mail with no key... the envelope had a perfect cut mark in the bottom of it. I sent the guy a text asking if this was a joke and he will not respond and I have been calling the business to talk to an owner and there is no answer. Needless to say do not waste your time with these people, definitely not trustworthy!

Bought a 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade in June 2016. Sales staff was very friendly and helpful, and stayed late to help me out. The vehicle drove well when I tested it, and passed a quick inspection by me. I agreed to buy it as-is. It drove well for a month, but the transfer case went out abruptly, leaving the vehicle inoperable except in reverse. Capitol Auto offered to work on it for me, but I opted to replace it with a salvage yard unit. During this operation, I realized the vehicle had no front drive shaft in it. I added a salvage one (in December, it went bad. I bought a remanufactured one). Three months later I replaced the whole rear axle, and now Im working on the front passenger CV joint. I expected a bit of a project vehicle when I bought the Jeep, although things broke down quicker than Id hoped. Vehicle was at 169,000 miles at purchase. Im now just past 171,000. It drove me back into the woods up north all hunting season, and overall I love it.

I called this place regarding a used car. I spoke to a specific salesperson regarding this car, and we had a few conversations about the vehicle. We spoke about a down payment and financing, and we had a preliminary agreement. I called the next day to make sure all was set for me to come pick up the vehicle, but the salesperson was not available that day. I spoke to another salesperson who said that there was no problem with me coming by to make a deal for the car. Drove 86 miles to find out that the car was not even on the lot. The original salesperson listed the car for his friend. For whatever reason he could or would not contact the owner, and there were no finance options since the dealership didnt actually own it. Another salesperson tried to get me into a more expensive (and higher mileage) car. It felt like a bait and switch and I left.
