Im leaving this review for Tropics after just leaving a different repair shop that had to fix all the damage and shoddy work Tropics did to my scooter. History: I had an oil change done by Tropics in early Feb, within 2 weeks my engine seized. Tropics told me at first it was just the spark plug, that alone took them over a week to diagnose and switch out. I paid to have that changed, over 100$, and went to pick up my scooter. Drove it home only to have it die again right as I hit my driveway. Took it back to Tropics. Finally they find that its an engine issue, thankfully my bike is under warrenty. Wait over a week for Tropics to get scooter company to authorize warrenty work, then another week for parts to ship, then still two more weeks for the repairs to actually be done cause, and I quote there are bikes that have been in here longer than yours that need to come first. Considering theyve had mine over a month now Im not sure how thats possible. But whatever. They also tell me I need a new belt, not covered by warrenty. Fine. Pay that, paided for the first repair but didnt have to pay for the engine work. Whatever. At this point Im just happy to have my bike back and running after 2 months down. Drive it for a week, feels off. No power and its starting to trottle down after 10 mins of riding and stalling, fantastic . Call Tropics to let them know Im still having problems and they have the audacity to sound put out. Excuse me? I have a better idea, Ill find a different dealer with a repair shop and take it to them instead. Find one in Bonita Springs, bit of a drive but by this point anything is better than Tropics. Take it in and within 2 days they find I need a whole new engine. Completely covered by warrenty and they have it authorized and done within 6 days! Bike runs like new, like it did before I let Tropics touch it. And at 0$ cost to me. Not only did they fix my bike but they let me know what a con Tropics ran on me. Bike manufacturer says this is the first warrenty work thats been done on my bike - Tropics claimed they did my first engine repair via warrenty and thats part of the reason the repairs were taking so long. New mechanics also found I had black sludgy oil (not new or fresh like I should have had) in my bike and that the supposedly new belt I had just paid for a week ago from Tropics was NOT new and had in fact broke within that first week I had it back from them. To say Im fuming with Tropics is an understatement. I was without my main means of trasportation for almost 2 whole months only to find out that Tropics was only putting bandaids and chewing gum on my engine issues praying Id go away apparently and lying to me the whole time to boot. My engine COULD have been fixed in ONE week, at NO cost to me OR to Tropics because the manufacture covered ALL the repairs! Why would they lie and drag their butts about it? The only reason I can come up with is they caused the original problem when they did that first oil change (or did they even change the oil - at this point I just cant trust they did) and were afraid that if the manufacturer had seen the damage they might have put 2 and 2 together and figured it out but even that doesnt make sense. Cause either way the cost of the engine repairs was theirs to eat. Maybe they just like playing power games? Maybe their mechanics are running a racket and their office is clueless about it? I dont know, and as of this review I dont care anymore. Im done with them, never again. I will tell everyone I know who wants a scooter to avoid them like the plague and NEVER let them maintenance your bike, unless you want it back worse than when it went in. Go else were, I would recommend the shop I found in Bonita Springs but this isnt a paid smear or advert for another location and I have purposely not said the other shops name to make sure it doesnt look that way. AVOID TROPICS.

The sales employees are nice enough and its a perfectly fine place to BUY your new toy from but do NOT get it serviced there. I honestly believe their mechanics are incompetent, poorly trained or rip off artists or a combination of all three. They caused a problem on our scooter (it ran beautifully until we had them preform a simple general maitenance on it) and they did everything in their power to put the blame on us. They then kept the scooter for over a month to repair it, never calling or keeping us abreast of what was going on with the bike. Weve now had it back less than a week from them and its stopped running yet again (4 time in 2 months) but enough is enough, we are taking it some where else from now on, we just cant trust the mechanics here anymore. So 2 stars for the buying experience but -3 for the horrid shop experience.

Rode my Moto Guzzi 120 miles to Tropic Powersports for the first service and was very impressed with their thoroughness and high level of professionalism. They were also very attentive to my needs and concerns regarding my new bike. I will definitely return if the need arises. The only con I can think of is there is no waiting room or place to sit while your bike is getting serviced. Just plan on leaving your bike and returning when its completed. Thanks Jim and Lucille!

I recently had need of a very small # 25 chain master link to repair the rear lift gate on my 2011 Chrysler T&C. Tropic was the only one I contacted that carried the part and they had one in stock saving me days and expense waiting for an online order from California. The shop was very nice and the counter man, Jim was pleasant and very helpful.. The fix was a success. If the chain should break again I will return. Good Job Tropicsports.

Just wanted to say "Thank You" for the great scooter I bought last year. I have travelled through 34 States, 14,000+ miles in my rv and frequently used the Rough House 50 Sport to get around (including getting two of us to the top of Davis Mountain in Texas!). It is fun, powerful enough for my needs, easy to operate and rediculously good on gas. Again, thank you, Leif Lustig August 8th, 2017

When reading our reviews please consider that there are two sides to every story, you are only reading one. Though we try exceptionally hard to please everyone, we are not always successful. Remember: You can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you cannot please all of the people all of the time. Though we try hard to do so.

They had a really good inventory of Vespas and I found the bright red 300gts Id been looking for with no luck in Sarasota and Tampa. They gave me a fair trade on my used 300 and the paperwork was done quickly, professionally and it was really a pleasure dealing with everyone I met there. I highly recommend them.
