hi! so this AND cal bikes down on first street are both good shops. But since this is a review for Livermore Cyclery.... Im a 20-something year old, and dealing with all the younger workers has been really good, customer service wise. The one blond woman is really nice as well. I was a bike newb 6 months ago, but my 8 or so visits have resulted in learning something new each time from helpful staff. However, i will say the older guys at the shop are a bit standoffish. Please dont judge a book by its cover, just because i am not middle aged or wearing lycra and own a 2 grand road bike dosnt mean you should ignore a customer. so on one hand i will say the customer service i did receive from the younger staff (namely four guys) was both very helpful and informative, but felt ignored by older staff as if i was beneath them to help.

Every time I go into this shop (about ten times a year), I have to find a sales person. They do not greet anyone or make any effort to help out. Also, they have been hesitant to custom order parts for a few of my friends. They seem to be happy where they are and realize that they dont have to give good customer service to make their money. They already have a good customer base and apparently thrive off that. I used to own a bike shop a little smaller than Livermore Cyclery and I always wonder how they are still in business with such terrible customer service. To finish it off, their parts are always about 25% more than other local shops. Try Cal on First Street instead.

I came inside on a weekday afternoon to buy a special valve for my bike tire. I was the only customer on the sales floor. There were about 6 employees working behind the sales counter. Some were working on bikes, some were just chatting. No one was on the phone. I stood in front of the sales counter, looking for someone to help me locate what I needed. Not a single employee gave eye contact to me for 5 min. I started to look for a bell, or something to get their attention, Just as I was about to walk out, an employee asked if there was anything I needed. I bought the valve for the tire. I will NEVER spend money here again. Very POOR customer service!

Ive had 3 separate BAD experiences with both locations, although I think the Dublin one is marginally better. I dont know why people recommend this bike shop, I certainly will not be recommending it to anyone! There are only a few mechanics who actually know what the hell theyre doing. It seems I tend to first get the one that doesnt and the competent mechanic has to fix the mistake the first one made! Just a waste of my time and money. When you put a bike on the stand and change the height of the riders saddle, put the seat back to the original height dumbass, pretty standard service. I never write bad reviews but this bike shop certainly deserves it.

Customer service is horrible. I came in with my boyfriend the other day. I went up to one of the employees and told them what I was looking for. I dont know too much about bikes and I was hoping they could steer me in the right directions. The kid behind the counter, who was obviously not busy, pointed to the aisle of bikes he thought I wanted. I guess that is what happens when you go to a bigger store like this one. My boyfriend told me that when he came here to buy parts a few years back, he got the same bad service. If you know exactly what you want and dont need any help, then this is probably an ok spot to shop.

I have been going there for years because of Chuck and Ken! both people are the best bike techs Ive met. I do most work myself, and when I cant, they always get my buisness! Both gentlemen have always gone out of their way to service my bike and it makes me feel like they care about me. I know its all about the almighty dollar, but when someone goes the extra mile for you, how can you go anywhere else?! They know Im not a big spender, but I always bring my bike to them and always will! THX to Chuck and Ken

Im a little stumped by some of the reviews Ive read for this place. I walked in today to buy a new bike for my son for Christmas and was approached by 3 different employees in under ten minutes, asking if I needed any assistance. Everyone was tremendously friendly and helpful. I ended up spending a little more than I had budgeted, but this is a higher-end shop, and we got an excellent bike, so no complaints. Ill definitely be returning to have my own bike serviced here.

Livermore cyclery is a customer service dream. When purchasing a bike the staff has a no pressure approach found at other stores. The prices are okay not the cheapest, not the highest. The techs are knowledgeable and are willing to educate the customers without making you feel dumb. I have referred multiple people to the store and all of them have raved about the service. This store is my GO TO when I need help. Thank you Livermore Cyclery!

A big bike shop that carries exclusively specialized and trek gear. If you can manage to get someone to help you and not pull some serious attitude your chances of getting what you want are decent. labor costs are outrageous here, although work quality has been decent. I have put this shop as the place i go to when i need something today. I would rather travel to Pleasanton, or Castro Valley or San Ramon to go to better shops.

Had my MTB built here. I had purchased frame (Canfield Brother Balance), forks and wheels from elsewhere. Gave them what I purchased and they sourced the rest of the parts (crank set, cassette, brake etc.) and put everything together in less then a week. Staff was super friendly, answered any questions I had and provided good advise on components that was needed. Definitely will be going there for all my cycling needs.

Recently bought a bike off of checklist and brought it in for them to look at. They looked at it right away, checking the chain for any stretching, even adjusted my brakes, derailler, and the front shock to my weight. All for FREE. As a courtesy I bought some chain lube and a quick release seat clamp which they installed on the spot in less than a minute. Good guys. Dont be afraid to ask any questions!

Ive been going to Livermore Cyclery since 1987. LC has worked on my mountain, cross, road, TT, tandem and track bikes. Customer service and work quality has always been superb. Im going there today to have a Specialized Transition re-cabled. Internally routed cables are a huge pain in the butt to re-do, especially the Transition. Thats a job for LC.

Just bought our fifth (or sixth) bicycle here. Fantastic product knowledge and customer service. If its important to buy a quality bike for your kids, this is a fantastic place to start. It would be great if it had a formal "frequent buyer" program so you could build loyalty and earn discounts, but the staff takes great care of you in any case.
