Bought a mountain bike online from another retailer and had issues with drive train. Called up and was connected to Bob who told me what a bike tune up consisted of. I told him I just got the bike and he said I didnt need a tune up just an adjustment and bring in and he would show me how to fix it. Went right over with bike and he took a look at it and made some adjustments and told me how to do the rest. I asked if he can do it and how much it would cost. He said $14 and I had it done. He even let me watch and gave me some great advice. The term "Customer Service" has been lacking in retail for years now. This was a great experience!

Went Memorial Day weekend to buy some sandals, turned out not to be a very original idea. Very crowded that day buy I was amazed how calm and helpful the staff was when I was one of at least eight people who were having trouble selecting the correct shoe size. One employee in particular, Quentin, was handling seven to eight people all on their own. Through the whole process of grabbing and returning multiple pairs of shoes to multiple people he remained knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The fremont location might not be my closest REI but Im glad its the one I went to and Im Quentin was working that day.

A very nice location. Not the largest store, but it has been laid out well, and comes with a good staff (at present). I trust the bike technicians here with my steeds, and they do impeccable work. I buy a lot of my outdooring gear from here, specifically because of the proximity to home, the wonderful REI Warranty, and the nice staff at this store. They have a good clearance section near the registers with last chance type items marked down, plenty of biking gear, a ton of bikes, bike racks, ski shop, kayak rentals, rock climbing gear and more. REI is your headquarters for doing stuff outside

Im a co-op member and usually have great experiences at REI. However, today i tried to exchange a thule ski/board rack that i received as a christmas gift. I needed a larger one that fits more gear. They couldnt find that it was purchased at REI even though there is a large sticker on the box that says FREMONT REI with their address on it. So now im stuck with a rack that doesnt fit my SUV. Usually the customer service is good but today it sucked.

Workers here do their utmost best to provide you with information needed before you go off on your adventures. Weather its river rafting, backpacking, hiking, or snowboarding, they have/know it all. Very popular brands sold here for a good price (mostly during their memorial day Sale). I bought a 20 Oz hydroflask water bottle for 19 bucks, as well as a Northface sweater for 70 and a very expensive Camelbak for only 80 bucks.

Overall good store - 1) Good selection 2) prices are "OK" with dividend, if youre okay going that route. 3) Sometimes difficult / long waits to get help with test drives 4) for cycling, If youre looking for more hand holding on larger purchases, might be better to go to a more niche store for that, as they are very busy, and some cycling purchases require more attention than REI can provide.

I tried to return some Native Sun Glasses that broke and I am coop member and they refused to exchange them. They use to warranty all items now they wont, they gave me the run around and said I need to bring case and other lenses and when prior exchanges did not require these items and when I did bring these items they refused the exchange, REI Fremont #@*^!

An excellent location with very friendly employees. They are very knowledgeable and always ready to help. Ive noticed how many stores have employees giving answers to the Qs you raise. But rarely do you see them go above and beyond and suggest products and give information. I learnt about a lot of hikes and trips from them and ever grateful for that.

REI "Light" - this is one of their smaller stores which has a limited selection of items, as compared to their other stores. That said, you may still find what you need and it may save a drive anywhere else. The staff is always friendly here and they do a good job with the limited inventory they have.

Our family loves REI because of the quality and variety of outdoor products. The real gem of these stores is the employee. Props to Nathan who help measure and give me advice on packs. Thats why we shop and buy at REI. Friendly people with real experience. Thanks REI!

Good ole REI. Their return policy has changed where you cant return something you bought from them 7 years ago without a receipt. Theyre cracking down on that. But thats about the only thing thats changed with REI. Their staff and service is still pretty good.

Really nice store! Lots of options for outdoor activities, really good pricing and membership. The staff here are so knowledgeable and helpful! Erick helped us picked a perfect backpack for hiking. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this store!

Nice store and friendly staff. However, I took one star off due to the higher than average price. You can always find stuffs selling here cheaper at other places. They do accept commuter check for bicycling.

The employees are very helpful and friendly. I was promptly asked if I needed help. I took the advice of the clerk when he pointed me to the new popular items. I bought the ideal gift... Good job.

Great store for all your outdoor needs (Also just fun to look around!) The staff are super helpful and provide excellent recommendations. REI also has a great policy of standing by products they sell.

Always had good service at this store. Cant give them a perfect score because rei prices are rarely competitive. They have a decent selection, but not as good as some of the other local rei stores.

I bought a pair of hiking shoes. The shopping assistant gave to me shoes of my size and after two months from the hiking my big toes nails are still black!!! I knew that I needed a bigger size...

Great little Rei never too many people in this location which is nice as a shopper; however, its hard to find good deals in the clearance section here because of the size.

I have to agree with another comment. The service is really good, but the prices arent the best. They do have things that no one else does so its worth a look.

Great service! The variety of products is good. Become an REI member & get their credit card, & you save a lot of money. Look for clearance items as well.

Took my skis here and the guys are awesome. None of my equipment was correct to mount my skis and these guys helped me out and find the correct parts.
